About Billy or Beth Wilkinson

Beth has taught school for 31 years and is now retired to spend time with the house and our guest. I work for a vitamin supplement manufacturer as operations director. 30 Years ago I began to have dreams, dreams to share our property with others. All those years ago when we started planting pine trees (near 10,000) on the place we began to have a vision of people coming to share this wonderful place. We dreamed of building cabins for people to come and enjoy the farm and the outdoors. We enjoy the fellowship and friendship. It is our desire to share some of ourselves and for you to share some of yourself with us.

Billy or Beth Wilkinson purchased this farmhouse in 2007

Why Billy or Beth Wilkinson chose Tennessee

Secluded yet close to Nashville (25 minutes), Bowling Green (25 minutes) and the enormous Mammoth Cave just north of Bowling Green. Driving up HWY 31w is a treat, takes you back in time in places. Thomas Historic Drug with the old soda fountain, barbecue places antique stores nearby and more. Several trips (1-2 hrs away) from here for canoeing on some of Tennessee's most beautiful rivers.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Peace and tranquility, walking trails, wildlife right out your back door.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Comments:

We stayed at the Little Red Farm last August (2009). I have thought about our vacation many many times since, but never added a comment. When researching for vacation this year, I was reminded of the "Farm" and what an incredibly fun time we had. I decided it was about time I let others know of a "jewel of the south". It was our first family vacation in decades. We all had a fabulous time cooking in the great country kitchen, walking the paths, cat-fishing, roasting marshmallows around the campfire pit(never laughed so hard in my life). We were in a peaceful quiet area but still close to all the excitement of Nashville. And Billy and Beth were absolutely marvelous hosts. So kind and considerate and helpful with things to do and places to see. We hope to go back to the "Farm" again.

Absolutely amazing.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at the Red Farm House and could not have had a better experience. We arrived later in the evening, Billy and Beth were waiting for us when we arrived. They let us in, showed us around and chatted with us for a few minutes. They gave us numerous recommendations of places to eat, things to do, etc... All of which we took and were not disappointed! The house was so clean, spacious and comfortable. We visited Nashville a few times while we were there and found ourselves wanting to get back to our little house for the weekend! Living in the country at home, we had a deepened appreciation for the property at Stay Down on the Farm. It is so well maintained and groomed. We walked the property and were so amazed at how beautiful it was and the attention to detail. Our favorite spot was the swing by the catfish pond. We spent a lot of time there on our visit. I would highly recommend Stay Down on the Farm. It was an absolutely wonderful experience and we will definitely be back!

Owner's Response: Thank you. We never tire of hearing that our place is enjoyed. 30 years ago I began having dreams that we were to share the farm one day and build homes for people to come and stay. The Red Farm House was the first in 2007. Really appreciate that you loved but also respected the place, makes our work easier and more enjoyable. Thanks again Billy and Beth

Had a great BD weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful quiet setting, clean, great place to do day runs and come back to peaceful homelike atmosphere. Now for maybe just alittle improvements, could use some new recliners in front room as we found them so uncomfortable as to not sit in them at all. But other than that, Loved the place and setting, and owners were great.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed the place except for the chairs. Recliners, were 2 of the first items bought to go in the home. Those 2 recliners are like old friends and we have been talking about replacing for months now. We have looked and looked and just cannot seem to find something appropriate for the home. They must be replaced I know and before another guest arrives at least 1 of them will be replaced. Thanks for moving me off the fence and thanks for leaving the home in such nice condition. Billy and Beth

Awesome getaway

  • 5 of 5

My mom, Aunt and I came to go to the Nashville Flea Market and do a little antiquing. It rained alot and turned cold. but this place was so nice and cozy we didn't mind staying in a few times. We did get to walk along the property and I took some great pictures too. Even met mamaw across the street and she picked us flowers. Very nice, friendly place

We will be back!!

This was a very quiet, comfortable, clean and cozy place to come home to after a day or evening downtown. My husband and I really enjoyed this house and would recommend it to anyone.

We have provided a quite, peaceful environment for you to be able to relax and enjoy between visits to Nashville and surrounding area. If you have anything else in mind such as bring other people in for partying, drinking, which is disturbing to the peace and tranquility of the farm then please consider another place. You won't like it here cause we don't stand for that since there are other homes on the farm.
