About Billy or Beth Wilkinson

Beth has taught school for 31 years and is now retired to spend time with the house and our guest. I work for a vitamin supplement manufacturer as operations director. 30 Years ago I began to have dreams, dreams to share our property with others. All those years ago when we started planting pine trees (near 10,000) on the place we began to have a vision of people coming to share this wonderful place. We dreamed of building cabins for people to come and enjoy the farm and the outdoors. We enjoy the fellowship and friendship. It is our desire to share some of ourselves and for you to share some of yourself with us.

Billy or Beth Wilkinson purchased this farmhouse in 2007

Why Billy or Beth Wilkinson chose Nashville

Secluded yet close to Nashville (25 minutes), Bowling Green (25 minutes) and the enormous Mammoth Cave just north of Bowling Green. Driving up HWY 31w is a treat, takes you back in time in places. Thomas Historic Drug with the old soda fountain, barbecue places antique stores nearby and more. Several trips (1-2 hrs away) from here for canoeing on some of Tennessee's most beautiful rivers.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Peace and tranquility, walking trails, wildlife right out your back door.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Comments:

We stayed at the Little Red Farm last August (2009). I have thought about our vacation many many times since, but never added a comment. When researching for vacation this year, I was reminded of the "Farm" and what an incredibly fun time we had. I decided it was about time I let others know of a "jewel of the south". It was our first family vacation in decades. We all had a fabulous time cooking in the great country kitchen, walking the paths, cat-fishing, roasting marshmallows around the campfire pit(never laughed so hard in my life). We were in a peaceful quiet area but still close to all the excitement of Nashville. And Billy and Beth were absolutely marvelous hosts. So kind and considerate and helpful with things to do and places to see. We hope to go back to the "Farm" again.

Beautiful home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 4 nights in this home and it was everything we thought it would be plus more!! Very beautiful and CLEAN. I liked how Billy met us there upon arrival and gave us a walk thru of the house and some info on where nearby things were located. We enjoyed walking thru the barns and down the paths where we saw turkey and deer along the way... Can’t wait to come back and fish in the pond.

The Little Red Farm House is truly a home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

One of our most relaxing vacations ever thanks to Billy, Beth, and the Little Red Farm House!

Beth met us upon arrival to give us the keys, and show us around. This house is a home! Deb & I always use Home Away everywhere we ago. We are usually always happy with the houses we have stayed in. But the Little Red Farm House tops them all when it comes to comfort & a true homey feeling. Everything worked as it should. The house was so clean. There was central heating & air conditioning. Enough kitchenware to cook our favorite meals. A fire ring to sit around and play our instruments at night under the stars. A grill to barbecue on out by the barns. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed walks back to the swing at the catfish pond, and the rooster crowing that welcomed each morning. Billy's well used bible in the nightstand drawer was a comforting surprise. It is very secluded, and quiet there, yet a short 30 minute drive to Nashville! A visit back in time to the old fashioned Thomas Drug store down the street is a must! The folks are so friendly. There is an old fashioned soda fountain in store serving up good ole fashioned treats. We felt like we were in Mayberry with Andy & friends.

We loved everything about our stay down on the farm at the Little Red Farmhouse. It was a real blessing and truly felt like we were returning home after our day trips to Nashville. We missed it before we even left. Thank you both so much for sharing your home with us.

Deb & PJ from Kittanning, PA

Owner's Response: Well.... If I were trying to tell people what I had dreamed so many years ago and how I was not just building a house but a "home" that is exactly what I would say! Many, many years ago I had dreams that I was in and at homes on this farm, talking to and even marrying people. Dreams that told me I was to build "homes" and share the farm. In 2007 The Red Farm House and the dreams started becoming a reality. Thanks Billy and Beth Stay Down On The Farm

Overall I enjoyed my stay. Billy and Beth are charming people and the house was clean and tidy.

I enjoyed my stay down on the farm. The house was clean and tidy. The WiFi was excellent and it was certainly very peaceful. Billy and Beth were charming hosts and extremely kind and accommodating.

I would suggest that the bath in the bathroom is very small indeed and the “bath shower” is as a result also quite narrow and I would just suggest a review of some of the cooking pans in the kitchen.

Otherwise I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this property for value for money.

We have provided a quite, peaceful environment for you to be able to relax and enjoy between visits to Nashville and surrounding area. If you have anything else in mind such as bring other people in for partying, drinking, which is disturbing to the peace and tranquility of the farm then please consider another place. You won't like it here cause we don't stand for that since there are other homes on the farm.
