Ideal for a couple. It is a newly renovated and redecorated under the theme "Madrid" apartment. The tables and vinyl, the graffiti that is on the headboard of the bed, everything breathes "Madrid". It has lots of light and charm. It is a fourth floor and from the window there is a very romantic view of the rooftops of the city. It is oriented to the west so the sunsets are beautiful, with the sun setting behind the red Tejaditos of capital. There keeper in the mornings, central heating and air conditioning. Has an elevator.
The building is located in the pedestrian section of herself and castiza Fuencarral street, an area with much solera which in recent years has become the most chic and popular area of the capital, full of shops, cafés, restaurants and local design.
One step is Chueca, the gay district of Madrid, which is an icon of the city and is full of great restaurants full of charm. On the other hand you get to Gran Via Street in Madrid; Sol and Plaza Mayor are just 10 minutes away.
Two minutes is the famous Malasaña, with houses with lots of flavor, places for drinks or sample beers. Mix of styles and people.
You come to visit the Mercado de San Ildefonso (tapas), repeat.
In the same street there are Starbucks, modern breweries, ice cream and hundreds of shops.
Look under "Location" for a complete list of recommended restaurants and we prepared to make sure you do not miss anything local:-)
Madrid birth and world citizen by conviction. I love traveling and meeting cultures and people . It is a pleasure to be host of others and help them to take an unforgettable memory of its Madrid . This is one of its indelible trips. And come back soon :-)
Diana Pano purchased this apartment in 2014
It is ideal even for any Madrid for a few days visiting central Madrid site . You can walk anywhere .
It has been refurbished in March 2015, with an open and comfortable space . It is bright .
It allows you to see Madrid on foot. Being so central you can use the apartment as a "base of operations " and return to rest at any time and then continue with your sightseeing in one of the main cities in Europe.
All major tourist areas are a 10-15 minute walk : Sol , Gran Via, Fuencarral , Royal Palace , Cibeles , Retiro, Puerta de Alcala , Plaza of Spain , Chueca , Malasaña ...
Excellent apartment and location. Great hostess.
Just spent 8 days in this modern and quiet apartment in a dynamic location. Super easy access to metro and easy walking to major attractions; near Gran Via, Sol, Malasana and Chueca. You can even walk to El Prado if you’re up to it, 20 minutes. A fun and vibrant area with boutiques and endless eating options of all price ranges. The apartment is very clean and comfortable and came with some surprising perks and details, like body wash and shampoo dispenser in the bathroom, a portable wifi and a bottle of wine and jamon iberico as a welcome treat. Well equipped for breakfast, good tasting coffee though we had our main meals at some of the local “mercados”, tapas bars and restaurants. The host provided well organized material (maps, guides, restaurants list). Diana, the host kept in touch with us various times before and during our stay, always with a great attitude. She accommodated our early check-in and offered to order us a taxi for our departure. Madrid is a fantastic city and we will definitely recommend this apartment and return when we can. Gracias Diana por hacer que este viaje haya sido tan especial!
FunMadrid is a stylish compact apartment in a relatively modern building two minutes walk from Gran Via and about five minutes from Sol. The building is in the middle of a pedestrian street with great shopping and it has an elevator.
It is immaculately clean, has a very comfortable king sized bed, a very modern bathroom and a comfortable lounging area with a flat screen tv.
It has a small kitchen area with a full sized refrigerator and a two burner cooking surface - perfect for breakfast and snacks, which the host Diana provided well stocked with juice milk coffee and breakfast bread as well as a bottle of wine and some jamon for a welcoming snack.
We walked everywhere we wanted to go. The Prado. Thyssen-Bornemisza. Reina Sofia, La Caixa Forum, Botanical Gardens, and the magnificent Reterio are within 20 minutes walk in one direction whereas the Cathedral and Royal Palace are about the same distance in the other direction.
But the best thing about FunMadrid is its owner Diana who is dedicated to insuring a great visit. We arrived in a rain storm and huge traffic congestion and she rode a motor scooter to get through the traffic to meet our arrival and was soaked and laughing when she greeted us. She was full of great suggestions for things to do and left detailed instructions for the apartment and for practical needs in the neighbourhood and she also did things like arranging taxis.
We recommend Fun Madrid most highly and hope to return someday in the near future.
Spent 2 weeks in this lovely apt and it was a great choice. The flat is spacious, great light, very cheerful and in perfect condition. The owner/manager has gone to GREAT lengths to anticipate renters' potential needs and the apt comes with far more supplies and items for comfort and convenience than any other apt of the many I have rented.
Diana is a true professional and goes way beyond what typical owners do in terms of making you welcome and checking back with you to assure that everything is satisfactory. Five star apartment, 5 star location, 5 star management and hospitality. The experience was really more like staying in a boutique apt-style hotel, where you are treated more like a guest than just a renter/occupant. Nice, nice job Diana! I hope to return next year.
We really enjoyed this apartment, we were so happy to have found this place, really near the Gran Via and Malasana / Chueca. The apartment was on the 4th floor, with an elevator. Newly renovated, fantastic design with a quirky arty feel and space saving practical features, aircon was very good as it was 37 degrees outside. Diana is the hostess with the mostest, she is very thoughtful and efficient & very easy to get on with and talk to, she showed us round and explained that there was a welcome pack of quite a few snacks including some delicious(!!!!) ham and wine!! plus a load of breakfast things cereals, bread, jam, OJ, butter, oil, milk, coffee, different types of tea, jar of sweets! too many things to list all out here. Plus plenty of loo roll, kitchen paper and just about anything you could ever need. The biggest bonus of all was the portable wifi which I have never heard of before! It was obvious that the hosts had spent a lot of time thinking about how to make the stay as comfortable as possible. There were loads of towels and extra bedding if needed, internal and external blinds, it felt like they had gone the extra mile (or 10). This is a top notch place, highly recommend it. So happy with our stay :) Diana very generously let us stay in the apartment until we were ready to go (our flight was pm) and luckily there were no new guests arriving that day, we were very grateful for that extra time :) . A bit of info on the location, this is a pedestrian part of Fuencarral with loads of clothes shops to tempt you with, a few mins and you are at the Gran Via and the nearest metro station, another 5-7 ish mins walk to Sol from there another 3 or so to Plaza Mayor. Or from Gran via go right to the Plaza De Espana / Palace/ Templo de Debod area in 12 -15 ish mins. Or left towards El Prado and Retiro park, 17-20 mins. Or from the apartment go the other way up Fuencarral towards Malasana for loads of little bars -really fab vibrant area, also here for the Tribunal Metro to get to the airport (change at Nuevos Ministerios). Enjoy!
It was wonderful! The studio is very nice, with enough space, the kitzhen has anything you could need. The location was great, right in the city center, close to Gran Via and the Fuencaral street is full of fashion shops. Two metro stations are very close to the studio : Tribunal and Gran Via.
The owner was very nice, speaks English very well and she helped us with anything that we needed. She put at our disposal a wifi router to take away in the city, so it helped us a lot with google maps and other searches.
I really recommand it!
Our apartment is in the heart of Madrid, in the pedestrian section of the Fuencarral street, one of the shopping areas and preferred by residents and tourists stroll.
Although it is one of the busiest areas of the capital, the apartment is quiet, as the windows facing the rear of the building, with a very romantic view of the roofs and roofs of the city. It westerly sunset looks beautiful from the large windows of the apartment. It is bright and airy.
You can walk anywhere: Two blocks from Chueca, gay icon and one of the most chic areas of the capital. The neighborhood of Malasaña and Gran Via are just 4 minutes walk. The area of Opera and the Royal Palace less than 15. Also nearby are: Plaza de Spain, Cybele, and a little above the Retiro Park and the Puerta de Alcalá. Wherever you go, you will not need transportation. The best way to see Madrid is walking and from this location you will have it easy.
