Located in one of the driest regions in the country, the cottage is a 2-bedroom self catering stone chapel set in the grounds of the owners property in a quiet Nene valley village. Ideally located for visiting the historic stone market towns of Stamford (10 mins), Oakham (20 mins) and Oundle (10 mins), Burghley House (10 mins), Rutland Water (15 mins), East of England showground (10 mins).
Accomodation consists of 6mx4.3 m (20'x14') double height open plan living/dining/oak kitchen area with widescreen TV/Freesat/DVD, downstairs twin bedroom with full-size single beds, bathroom with 5' wide electric shower, upstairs bedroom with king-size bed, fenced patio area with patio table set and BBQ. There is a country pub serving food just down the road along with the village playing field and playground.
The local area is popular for walking and cycling, fishing on the River Nene or at Rutland Water/Grafham Water/Eyebrook. Why not watch the Ospreys raise their young at Rutland Water or keep an eye open for Red Kites and Buzzards soaring over the garden? The pretty north Norfolk coast, London, Cambridge or Lincoln can all be reached in around an hour. There are many walks from the village along the river or through nearby woods and rolling hills. The local area is blessed with several historic stately homes, pretty stone villages and market towns along with a wide choice of places to eat and raise the odd glass or two! You can keep the children entertained at the nearby farm visitor centre or steam railway (both within 10 mins) or why not try canoing/wind-surfing/sailing/rock-wall/hiring a bike or having a boat trip on the Rutland Belle at Rutland Water?
