***Come Early - Stay Late NO EXTRA CHARGE! (if available)*** FREE WI-FI! Located on the 2nd tee of the Schuss Mountain Golf Course, a short walk to Ski Lifts at Schuss Mountain, the Main Lodge and Ivan's Mountainside Grill. Condo comfortably sleeps 6, has a nice fireplace and a deck overlooking the 1st tee. Two swimming pools, a jacuzzi pool, and a sauna are located at the Main Lodge. Several beautiful lakes for swimming and boating are an easy drive away. Hiking and biking trails are nearby at the resort.
Activities: Skiing, downhill and x-country, snowboarding, tubing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, golfing, hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking and boating to name just a few of the activities available at the resort or nearby. Equipment rentals are available for most.
We fully enjoyed our stay! You really can't beat the location, a quick 1 min walk across the parking lot to the link lift. It was also nice at night to walk across the street to Ivan's so listen to the live music. The ski storage locker at the parking lot made it easier to deal with all our ski gear! It was also nice to relax in the hot tub located right across the small street. Everything was clean and well maintained. We were happy to find shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided in the shower!
The condo is very clean and well maintained , also it is conveniently located to the lodge where you will find swimming, food, drink and ski area. It's only a few miles into the town of Macelona where you will find a friendly, full service grocery store if needed. The condo is also very close is Belliaire and there you will find great food ,cute shops and great people. This is a great condo with everything you will need if you want to cook and eat in as well. A shuttle is available to take you around the resort to Summit Village for more great snow sports, ski rental and great dinning. I highly recommend this rental
Pros: Owners very responsive, you're on-mountain at a budget price, access to hotel amenities with more space than a hotel room
Cons: Smaller than expected, mattresses/pillows could use an update, back bedroom TV missing (!)
Overall, considering the price I think this condo is a good value. I would definitely recommend it, but I'd like to add a bit more detail on the property so you know what you are getting.
While many reviewers mentioned it was a bit small I couldn't understand why from the pictures. Here is the layout: Upon entering from the 2nd floor (outside stairs), you immediately enter the master bedroom. There is an accordion-style room divider that can separate the bed from what would then be a hallway; however, if you do so then you will block off the (small) TV. So just be aware that it really is not a separate bedroom with a door, which is what we thought. Next, closets on the left, and the bathroom on the right. Bathroom was clean, perfectly spacious, and included ample towels, a hairdryer and curling iron, as well as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the tub/shower combo. Heading back to the hallway we pass through a door (which can be shut for privacy for the master bedroom, but little point to that because other family members will still need access to the bathroom.) You enter the combined living room / kitchen area. The table is small, so it would be very cramped for more than 2 eating a full meal family style if you are expecting to do that. We only cooked breakfast, and weren't really all eating at the same time so it met our needs. (Dishes/cookware, toaster oven, toaster, coffeemaker (filters, sugar, & creamer provided), 2 burner stove (only 1 burner appeared to work), older - yes, 1980's classic! - but still perfectly good microwave, and a not-quite full size refrigerator and freezer.) The living room area has just a loveseat and single armchair, plus the kitchen chairs or possibly the ottoman to sit on. If you were going to sit down as a family and watch TV together you'd be lacking for soft seating. Both the ottoman and loveseat are hideabeds, but the mattresses on both were very uncomfortable - you feel all the springs. The back bedroom has 2 bunks and a vanity but is a tiny room - no floor space.
Other perks: deck, an outside locker for skis, and a hotel key for pool access (heated outdoor pool only open on weekends; indoor pool, hot tub, sauna).
Thanks Laura & Emery!
Well kept condo. We always enjoy staying here. Great location for skiing and the owner is very accomodating.
Had a great time at this perfect spot within walking distance of the chair lift! Perfect!
The condo is on the 2nd floor, and within walking distance to the base of Schuss Mountain. There is no need to use your car, as a shuttle is available to take you all over the resort. Wi-FI is free, but did need to be reset twice during our weekend stay. I'm not exactly sure how the place is heated, but it's takes quite a while for the heat to adjust to different thermometer settings. It's not forced air heat, and I couldn't seem to find any radiators, so I'm still trying to determine how the place is heated. The Microwave is one of the first EVER produced, think vintage. The TV in the bedroom is not HD compatible, and the screen size is small. There are no hair dryers, so be sure to bring one... I didn't....
