About the property

1870 Victorian Inn located in Historic Milan, OH. Only 15 min from Cedar Point.

This property is the ideal location for family gatherings. Just outside of Sandusky, Milan keeps you out of Vacationland traffic while only being minutes from Cedar Point. It accommodates multiple families with plenty of room indoors and out. Enjoy the very large eat-in kitchen with a dinning room table and breakfast bar that keeps people out of the cooking area. Or send them into the adjoining game room to shoot some pool. The bedrooms have plenty of room for a pack and play or even a full size air mattress. The large back hallway makes a nice play area. Outside, enjoy a cookout on the grill, gather around the firepit, or explore the 4.5 acre wood.

Historic Milan, Ohio. Birthplace of Thomas Edison. Reminiscent of a rural New England town, the Milan, Ohio retail business area is built around the charming town square which was established as the town's centerpiece in 1867 along with the Solders & Sailors Monument which was dedicated on July 4, 1867. The monument features the names of all 330 citizens of Milan who served in the Civil War. The clock towered town hall was built in 1876 and the Milan Library in 1912. The large picturesque gazebo was added in the 1960's and The Young Edison Statue in 1984. Annual activities on the square include Antiques On The Square in July and the famous Milan Melon Festival during the Labor Day Weekend each year.

Other Activities: Kalahari Indoor water park, Cedar Point, Lake Erie Islands

Family Gathering

  • 4 of 5

We were looking for somplace 15 family members could gather for a weekend, and we found the perfect spot! The location had something for everyone from the 2 yr old to the 79 year old, from golf to shopping to amusement parks to just plain old exploring the countryside. The house was wonderful, plenty of room outside and in. We loved the seclusion, not having to worry if we were being too noisy, and everyone loved the fire pit, as that's where we would catch-up after going our separate ways during the day. And the kitchen actually has the equipment and supplies for a large group! We hope to be back next year!

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

Although the stairs were An issue for the older members of our family we enjoyed our stay. Charming house that easily accommodated our 15 adult members and 2 child family reunion. Amenities were more than adequate and the owners provided additional games for outdoor activities.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay! It is unfortunate that there is no bedroom on the first floor. Happy to hear you all were able to make it up the stairs. Still hunting for the buried treasure and will return it as soon as it is discovered. We are looking forward to having you back!

disapointment

  • 3 of 5

first of all i want to say the property is beautiful on the outside and well kept. the inside , ,although it has a lot of character was not what we hoped it would be. we were there for 3 days and were finding stink bugs all over the inside every day. on beds on the counters and in the bathrooms. the two small bedrooms and the hallway upstairs were terribly hot at nite and uncomfortable sleeping. on a positive note house came very well equipped with everything you would need including a washer and dryer which was nice.

Owner's Response: We’re glad to hear you found the property beautiful and well equipped. We’re sorry for the poor timing of the thermostat breaking down (making the two bedrooms too hot). We refunded $200 for the one night it was down that very night. By leaving doors open in a well lit house, many outdoor friends did decide to join you on your stay. We were able to get the thermostat/AC fixed in one day and clear out all the extra friends. In 10+ years of renting we’re proud that this is the first and only review that someone was disappointed as most guests find the Inn to be more than they expected and return year after year!
