A beautiful, lovingly restored villa in a charming village.

  • 5 of 5

We could not have felt more pampered! Paula greeted us royally, going above and beyond to make our stay at her beautiful villa perfect, including providing baskets with regional food products and some fine wines! The villa has been completely restored and features beautiful indoor space as well as lovely grounds and gardens. We took advantage of the outdoor cooking oven and dining area and had dinners gazing out at the mountains, listening to portuguese music, thoughtfully provided by Paula. The village is charming and we enjoyed the local flavour, greeting residents and shop keepers. A longtime VRBO renter, this is the loveliest place that I have rented!

Immaculate Stone Home with Spectacular View / Live Each Moment

  • 5 of 5

We like to travel the unbeaten path. Our idea of a perfect vacation is staying in one lovely spot long enough to actually eel the local rhythm of life, discover local foods and wines and explore the nearby towns at our leisure. At Paula and Vitor's lovely modernized, yet historical stone home in charming Alleada da Paz Portugal

Our stay in July at Antigo Lagar de Azeite was as near to paradise as can be described. Our wonderful host, Paula, welcomed us with warmth - and a lovely array of cheese, fruit - and Port of course! The house is beautiful in every way . It looks out over the beautiful mountains - breathtaking. There are a number of different dining areas - cozy decks, inside dining etc. In the town there are also a couple of small inns that serve wonderful meals. However, the kitchen is also large, spacious, and fully outfitted. Other outstanding amenities included the excellent internet (wireless) connection and tv - although the house and its surroundings were so beautiful that we didn't stay inside much! Thank you to Paula for making our stay perfectly delightful - we hope to return!

Wonderful location, great experience

  • 5 of 5

The house is large, and unique, as it was formerly a mill. It oozes local character, with its typical stone and construction features. And the garden is absolutely gorgeous, with great views of the mountains. Idyllic.

The little town is charming, and convenient too, as it has two hotels with restaurants to frequent.

Paula is extremely nice and goes the extra mile to see that her renters are happy.

Highly recommended.

Note: If you happen to be a television addict, or really need the Internet, this is not the house for you. 5 channels, in Portuguese. And the Internet was iffy.

Owner's Response: Dear Justin! We are very pleased that you apreciated your stay in our Villa much! You´ve a very nice family, the kids are just adorable! Concerning the Internet, we´re sorry to hear, because actually it was the first time a guest mentioned it as not being sufficient. For instance, if you read Madge´s N. comment, they were 4 people using the internet regularly, two of them youngsters who were always online and still they found it more than enough. I guess your case its a bit more specific since you´re a more exaustive internet user with a substantial number of downloads. I´m not sure that will be easy to find an holiday house, in Portugal , prepared to meet your needs as an internet user. My Best regards! Paula

Just passed by to let you know, as already said to you in Aldeia, that the entire family enjoyed your house so much!

The kids were thrilled on the ideia of sleeping in a "Castle"! What a great salon you have there!

We travel a lot and truly, havent seen a place like this in ages! The house is just breathtaking, the view from our bedroom and from the bbq to Serra da Estrela was so relaxing! We wanted to get to know more about the region but we also wouldn`t want to leave the house because we felt so good in it!

Thanks for being so nice and kind to us!

The experience of drinking a Ginja on your ancient Cellar was incredible!

We´ll be back - for SURE!

Thanks once againg for providing us this amazing holidays! Regards from every single one of us!

Will recommend to everyone who wants to visit Portugal.
