The apartment is on the 2nd floor with access by lift, and located in Nador Street, in the prestigious, central area of District 5 very close to the Chain Bridge and the Basilica. It has a quiet courtyard location. It has been completely renovated, and is furnished and equipped to an excellent standard. The rooms have beautiful oak floors and magnificent, high ceilings with period lights. Original pictures and limited edition prints decorate the walls.

There is a supermarket directly opposite the front of the house and cash points within one minute walk. There are several dozen restaurants close by, from inexpensive all the way to first class international cuisine, In fact you are only two minutes away from some of the best and most popular restaurants in Budapest including the popular Borkonyha (Wine Kitchen) with a Michelin star. All forms of public transport -metro, tram and bus are also in the immediate area.The Danube and the beautiful Chain Bridge are a 2 minute walk, and Vaci Street and the new Fashion Street by The Kempinski Hotel are only 10 mins away-the great location of the apartment lets you visit all the top attractions in Budapest on foot. Our English and French speaking taxi driver can meet you at the airport or train station and take you to the apartment, so that you have no worries when you arrive in Hungary. About Bridgett Gill

Myself (Bridgett Gill) and my partner (Brendan Wheatley) are in our sixties and involved in the world of opera. We run Swansea City Opera, a mid scale opera company which tours all over the UK, and a registered charity. The history, culture and love of music of the Hungarian people were a great influencing factor in our decision to buy a classical apartment in Budapest. We were looking for an investment for our retirement and had planned to visit three countries before making our choice, but after seeing the beauty of Budapest and finding the Hungarian people so friendly and welcoming, we decided to look no further. We hope you love the city us much as we do!

Why Bridgett Gill chose Lipótváros

Why we chose this location: Because we live in a very old cottage in Wales and love historic houses, we were looking for a building and apartment that had history and original features. We think we have found the perfect apartment and have completely renovated and restored it with a lot of love and thought. The rooms have beautiful oak floors and magnificent, high ceilings with period lights. Original pictures and limited edition prints decorate the walls. If you love architecture and history this apartment is a perfect choice.

What makes this apartment unique

As well as being in a beautiful building, the apartment is close to all forms of public transport, and central to all the tourist attractions and the Opera House. There is a supermarket directly opposite the house and In addition, because we love good food and wine, we chose a location with good restaurants and cafes close by! By the way I can heartily recommend Hungarian wine, not a lot of it is sold abroad as they keep most of it for themselves!

I just wanted to thank you so much for letting us stay in your wonderful apartment. All the arrangements with Attila were perfect and the flat could not be in a better location, more comfortable or better equipped. It is the perfect base for visiting Budapest.

Sadly we didn’t get to the baths so we have a perfect excuse for returning one day!

The apartment is fully centrally heated but has no air-conditioning, there are two floor standing electric fans. In the interests of all wishing to use the apartment, this accommodation is strictly no smoking and we are unable to accept pets. The apartment is also not suitable for children under 10 years old. Strictly no hen or stag parties. There are no special adaptations in the apartment but we have had one lady with limited mobility, who often used a wheelchair, staying at the apartment with a friend. She said she managed well but could not have managed on her own. There are 10 shallow steps up to the lift, but the steps have a hand rail and once out of the lift, the corridor around the courtyard is wide. The doors in the apartment (apart from the one into the en-suite bathroom) are also wide enough for a wheel chair.

Clean well appointed 2 BATHROOM modern kitchen apartment in EXCELLENT location!

Location was five stars for sure. Blocks from the river, the market (dont miss this one, eat upstairs! very welcoming!) , the parliament, mass transit. There is also a grocery store across the street and two restaurants at the doorstep, and let us not forget the gelato place on the corner. Our favorite way to end the day was with gelato!! Our taxi driver was wonderful who willingly gave us a brief history of Budapest as he drove us across town, helped us with our bags, showed us how everything worked in the apt. and gave us a wonderful first impression of the city. The apt. was clean and was above our expectations. There were guidebooks to peruse and converters for us Americans who did not bring enough to charge the kids phones! The courtyard garden is very peaceful...and well taken care of. Owner very easy to correspond with and Atilla who Bridgett recommended for pick up from our arrival point was fantastic!! Would highly recommend his services. Beds very comfortable. Thank you for a great stay. Lovely city. We will be back to Budapest for sure, and most noteably to this apt. Thank you again for such a lovely clean modern apartment. The sep. bedrooms for parents and each teen was wonderful. Two full bathrooms made it easy to get out for the day. The washer machine was easy to use and worked great. The grocery has some very delicious pastry, coffee in a carton single serve, and yogurt smoothies. I even brought back coffee as souvenirs from grocery!

Really Nice apartment in a Really Nice location!

We had a great stay in this apartment. Everything was as advertised. The location was pleasant, safe, and near lots of things to see. The apartment was clean, quiet and comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and we used it for preparing meals, and the wifi worked well. We enjoyed the on demand hot water! We also appreciated the extra power adapters as we had only brought one. There was plenty of space for the three of us and we felt like we could have stayed comfortably with our entire family of five had everyone been on this trip. We also really appreciated the ride from the train station from Attila and that the price for that was known ahead of time. We also used him for the ride back to the station at the end of our stay as it was snowing. We would be happy to stay here again in the future.

Beautiful, central but very quiet, apartment

I am a very light sleeper and so can find it difficult to find places in cities which meet my needs. This place was perfect for me. Despite being less than a 5 minute walk from St Stephen's Basilica, it was practically silent- the main bedroom especially. Bliss.

Atilla, the taxi driver, was helpful, informative and responsive. The heating and WiFi worked well. The only negative thing was the shower in the en suite bathroom was faulty, which I think some one else has mentioned. Would definitely stay here again if I come back to Budapest.

Great location

Perfect location. Disappointing second bedroom. This room is obviously a dining room normally. There was no chest of drawers and no wardrobe. No mirror either. This should be addressed if it's to be advertised as a 2 bedroom apartment.

Super location, comfortable apt.

Loved This location! It was centrally located allowing us to walk to many places and activities. Lots of eating and shopping options close by and near enough to transit points to make it really easy to get around. The apartment was clean, the beds very comfortable and the owner was helpful and quick to respond. Would recommend.

The apartment is in the perfect location, near the Basilica in the prestigious District 5. All the top tourist attractions are within an easy 10 min walking distance, including the Opera House, Parliament, National Art Museum, Castle District and the funicular railway, the Famous Chain Bridge and the Vaci Utca shopping street. It is also close to a supermarket and a covered market where you can by excellent fresh produce. It is also, very importantly, only 2 mins walk from some very good bars and restaurants; the Hungarians have some really excellent wine and food! The nearest metro station is 5 mins walk away, and bus and tram stops are 2 mins away. The apartment is also close to the street which houses all the prime antique shops specialising in Biedermeier and Art Deco furniture. Budapest is regaining its former glory, there is street after street of fabulous architecture, many buildings are fully renovated and many still have their rather shabby-chique charm.
