We loved the apartment - very stylish, comfortable and well equipped. It was nice to have a welcoming choice of free drinks available on our arrival too! Nuno and his assistant, Jose, ensured everything was available for us, and Jose was just a call away if we needed him - we did have a small technical issue once with the dishwasher which was fixed in no time. The only slight disappointment was that we didn’t know the property had another apartment above it when we booked it, so found ourselves being woken up sometimes by people moving about upstairs in the mornings/late at night! This wasn’t a big problem though and we still had a very relaxing and mostly peaceful stay - simply a small issue of personal expectation management(!), perhaps addressed if just advertised as a 'downstairs/ground floor' apartment? The apartment is very well placed for all local amenities and is just short walk from the stunning ‘boardwalk’ running along the coast to Cascais - lovely for walks or more vigorous runs, with outdoor fitness equipment available along the route too! There are also lots of cafes & restaurants along the boardwalk. Cascais is lovely. Boca do Inferno and Guincho beach beyond it are well worth visiting (we hired bikes for the day at a very reasonable rate from a bike hire shop inside Cascais train station). Sintra is a must - contrary to all the local advertising, it is a great walk up to and between Castelo dos Mouros and Pena Palace if you are reasonably fit and want to save a few euros! The train line between Cascais and Lisbon is excellent, with lots of stops along the way - remember to keep the green ‘Viagem’ cards to top up journeys through the week rather than throwing them away and paying for new cards each trip! Belem is well worth a visit en route to Lisbon, especially to taste the famous Pasteis de Belem. We would happily recommend the property and book again for a return visit!

Great stay and lovely place

This place is located in a very central place to many amenities. The rooms are spacious and modern. You cannot ask for me. The owner was very kind and informative. Would definitely book again

Comfortable, clean and modern. Close to beach, supermarket, and cafes.

The property is pleasing to the eye. Clean, modern decoration and Ikea furnishings. Kitchen is well stocked with everything needed for cooking at home. Needed wine glasses but hopefully they will be there for next customer. The terrace is great for breakfast but a bit small, however, it didn't matter to us as we spent most evenings at the beachfront or in Cascais. The greeting at arrival was easy going and informative about the local area. There's a tunnel to the beach a few minutes walk from the property. Train and bus station 10 minutes walk away for Cascais and Lisbon areas. Cheap public transport. We took the 418 bus to Sintra twice and the train into Lisbon 3 times. Very cheap.

We used the transfer service which cost 45 euros each way. It would be cheaper by train obviously but on a first visit the transfer was less hassle.

We loved the area, friendly people, lots of Portuguese character and charm. Not ruined by commercial tourism. Our 3 teenagers loved the skatepark which was 15 minutes walk away in the direction of Sao Joao.

All in all a great holiday, happy with the apartment and service. Safe and trouble free

Perfectly situated in Sao Joao and just as pictured!

Our stay in the flat was lovely. The pictures depict the place perfectly, the location is excellent and Katia was wonderful in making us comfortable after a long day of travel with checking in. The outside area is peaceful for coffee in the morning and Sao Joao always proves to be one of our favorite locations in Portugal for the neighborhood vibe and proximity to the beach.

Lovely property in great location, June '17

Property is fully equipped with everything you could need. Great shower, comfy beds, fresh towels and linen, plenty of storage for suitcases, great wifi. Katia met us on arrival and departure. She was very helpful and gave us lots of info about the locality. 5 mins stroll to the nearest beach. Super local shop en route with the freshest of fruit and veg. Lovely stroll along waterfront promenade all the way to Cascais where there is every kind of restaurant. We had a car but you don't need one, great local transport. It was handy though for going to Sintra, definitely worth a visit! As is Lisbon where you should try Tram 28. There are also lots of other beaches within a short drive. This was our first but not definitely not last visit to Portugal.
