It's a large and elegant loft apartment located on the third floor, with two bathrooms and private terrace.
It's called "Miramare" because from its terrace you can enjoy views of blue sea and beautiful sunsets.
The apartment consists of living area, sleeping area and terrace.
The living area has two rooms: a large sitting room with sofa - bed en suite and a bright dining room with a typical Mediterranean fitted kitchenette, provided with another sofa-bed. From it, on the same level, you can get into the terrace. It can be used as a sun terrace and it has delicious armchairs, table and parasol.
From here you can also enjoy a drink, having lunch or enjoy a romantic dinner. It allows you to enjoy the pleasant evening breeze. It’s adorned with typical local plants.
From the living-room, a typical wooden staircase leads to the bedroom en suite. The smallest bathroom upstairs, provided with shower unit as well, has slopping roof.
It is suggested for families and couples.
We are a small, family-run business with some self-catering apartments located in a historical building from the 1800s. The building was fully restored a couple of years ago. It has a modern elevator, and in all the apartments you can find : wi-fi internet connection, air conditioning/heating pumps and all the other modern comforts you could need.
The apartments are in a really quiet area even though they are located in the very heart of Ortigia, the old town of Siracusa, a few meters from the main attractions of the city. The address is Via Salomone, 4,
Hello everybody! It's Luca, owners son and who runs the apartments now. I love travelling and meeting people from all over the world. I worked at the Erasmus project at university (unfortunately many years ago!) and I tried to work in the same friendly, International environment that I love so much also in this Sicily corner! Hope to have the chance to meet you too!
Luca purchased this apartment in 2000
We found a well-equipped and delightful clean, spacious flat in the heart of Ortigia, the old town of Siracusa. Everything you needed was there including air conditioning (if you're used to colder weather) and internet access. Although the apartment is close to the sea, the main piazza of Ortigia and many restaurants, the area was quiet and safe - and very picturesque.
Luca was fantastically helpful, providing maps, recommendations and tons of local knowledge. Thanks again for all your help.
Siracusa is within reach of the baroque towns of southern Sicily reachable by train, bus or car. There is a large car park to the north of the apartment and its probably easiest to park there.
We can only really recommend this accomodation and hope to come back again one day!
All the best,
Our home holidays situated in Ortigia, an island and Syracuse Old Town, Unesco heritage site. The building is a stone's throw from a nice and comfortable pebbly beach and from the main attractions, in a usually peaceful and quiet area. Ortigia is a small Baroque gem, reflected in Ionian Sea water. Walking through churches, museums, historic buildings, theaters, Greek temples and Roman ruins, stopping by Maniace Castle, a Byzantine castle rebuilt by Fredrick II in the Middle Age, it feels like a dip in the past and retrace centuries of history . And if it's sizzling hot, you can refresh yourself with a dip in Ortigia or going to one of the nice sandy beaches, far only few km from the town. Clear water and blue sky never fail here! Do you want to do some sport during your holiday? Here you can do whatever you like. Snorkeling, swimming, beach volley, biking, hiking, jogging, tennis, football with me and more.then is necessary to regain strength with a fruit cocktail in an Ortigia bar at the aperitif time and ending with generous local dinner at home or in any of the hundred restaurants in the area, it's a hard choice!
