"The Vine” is a converted village house in the foothills of Mt. Taygetos overlooking the valley of Lacedaemon and the city of Sparta. It is close to the Byzantine town and castle of Mistra. It is surrounded by olive tree groves, cypress trees and a small vineyard. The spacious covered balcony has a commanding view of the valley and of Mistra.
The house has two spacious rooms. A master bedroom, with a double bed and a large sofa that can be converted into another double bed. It has also its own balcony overlooking the valley. The sitting/dining room has another large convertible sofa, a dining table, armchairs, a sofa and a fireplace. The property also has a kitchen and bathroom. Downstairs there is a room with a washing machine and a storeroom. It also has a walled yard with an old stone-build wood stove. The house is within walking distance from the upper gate of the archaeological site of Mistra. It is about one mile from the lower gate of Mistra and a little more from the modern village of Mistra . Sparta is about 5 miles away (10 minutes drive). Apart from Mistra, the visitor can visit Sparta and the beautiful countryside full of flowers in the spring and those who love mountains can explore the majestic Taygetos Mt. The sea is less than an hour’s drive away, Gythion 45 minites drive, Kalamata one hour drive and Mani and Monemvasia 90 minutes drive each. Mistra was the capital of the region in Medieval times.
