About Karen Carter
The owners are Alan and Karen Carter, we are South African,. We have travelled and lived in America and the UK and included all the things we like to have when we are away from home. We discovered the Dordogne in 2008 when we visited a friend who owns a property outside Tremolat. We both have fallen in love with the area. Alan and I would like to share our beautiful farmhouse and now recently our newly RENOVATED barn with anyone who loves fabulous food, unbelievable scenery, amazing history, and peace. The peace you too discover.
Karen Carter purchased this Farmhouse in 2010
Why Karen Carter chose Trémolat
We fell in love with Tremolat and the beautiful Dordogne region when we visited in 2008 We have returned every year since that trip and we now have our beautiful cottage. Tremolat itself offers 4 superb restaurants and 1 wine bar and is within easy reach of wine regions such as Bordeaux, Begerac, Pecharment, and the lovely smooth wines of Monbazzilac ( gorgeous with fois gras), It is also within easy driving distance of wonderful historical sites such as Baynac and Castlenaud Castles, 1 hour from the paleolithic sites such as Les Eysiers. We are in easy access (only 35 km from Bergerac Airport, Bordeaux Airport is a 2 hour drive from the house)

Really enjoyable trip
Great Service by the hostess and my time staying there, with my family, was really relaxing. I enjoyed reading my book by the fire and wondering into the sleepy village for a coffee. There are lots of sites to see through-out the area. I would highly recommend, taking the time to go visit.
Le Chouettes is perfectly situated for all sights and experiences from wine tasting to ancient cave and castles
