A LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN!!!

READ OUR REVIEWS!!!

The cottage is lakefront and approx. 200 ft. from a Private Town Beach, with 2 lifeguards. It is a Spring Fed lake so the water is always super fresh and invigorating...It doesn't get any better than this!

If you are looking for laid back, relaxing, and just plain, old fashioned comfort, this is the best spot on the lake.

There is a large deck in front to enjoy the view, and front & back two 3 season porches, each with a lovely porch swing.

My Grandparents built this beautiful home in the 1940's and even my Great Grandmother too! Pictures on our front porch, there are photos of all three of them with shovels in hand, starting to dig the foundation!!!

Pictured next to them is my Dad, about the age of 12, on his bicycle.

Grampa has built all of the stone walls and the foundation with large stones, carried in buckets, one by one. No power tools back then, just good old fashioned SWEAT EQUITY!

So, to me, this is an HEIRLOOM, it is treated with the utmost respect, in all who come here, every nail hammered by his hand.

We have completely renovated the whole house, little by little over the past few years, by adding a more user friendly big bathroom shower, and a washer and dryer for your convenience, and mine!

Enclosing the back porch was a big renovation for us, but now it is so comfortable sitting on the back porch swing and reading a book or two.

The lake is stocked with Trout by the RI- D.E.M., and is a favorite of Northwest RI fishermen. Located one mile from the cottage is Historic Chepachet Village, a quaint little downtown area, with Brown and Hopkins General Store, which is the oldest General Store in continuous operation. There are also antique shops and restaurants, laundry, a grocery store, and post office. It is also the home of the 'Ancients and Horribles Parade', which is the second oldest Fourth of July Parade in this area next to Bristol, RI.

Chepachet is also historically important, as it was the sight of the Dorr Rebellion, we have several books at the cottage in reference to this famous battle.

We also have some other books that are all in reference to this area of the country that have known to be haunted! REALLY!!!

The famous Lizzie Borden house, on Second Street in Fall River, MA, is just about 40 minutes away, I have to say, that it is a very interesting tour, very informative, and a bit eerie , if you like mystery and intrigue go visit and see for yourself, it is also said to be haunted! Give it a try..

IF YOU DARE!

Golf Amenities: Gloucester Country Club is located 3 miles east on Route 44. Further information can be provided if needed.

Riding Stables: Riding stables are located on Route 44 west of Chepechet Village, and more info can be provided if needed.

Wright's Farm Restaurant: Wright's Farm Restaurant is located less than 10 miles west of Chepachet Village on Route 44. It is an absolutely huge restaurant that specializes in home style family meals of rolls and butter, salad, roasted chicken, delicious macaroni and homemade sauce and crispy french fries that is all you can eat! Yes! They have banquet facilities and private rooms for family functions, a gift shop, and takeout. A great place to go. Telephone number will be provided. Reservations are recommended.

About Rhonda Faria

Our home is considered a 'Family Heirloom' built by my grandparents, just step in and feel the love! We cherish and take the utmost care of this cozy home, and you will too!

This home is exceptionally sparkling clean, we pride ourselves in keeping it absolutely immaculate!

Rhonda Faria purchased this cottage in 1940

Why Rhonda Faria chose Rhode Island Inland

My family has owned the property for this house for over 70 years. We have enjoyed countless family cookouts, swimming and just relaxing, or going to the famous Fourth of July Parade downtown.

Our own Grandchildren love the porch swings on both front and back porches...and I am sure my Grandparents would be so proud of all the updates we have made...but also keeping the traditions and always made with love!

What makes this cottage unique

Get away from it all, but your still close enough to grab your morning coffee from Dunkin Donuts, less than 1 mile from the house! Great restaurants downtown, bakery, pharmacy, Post Office, Dunkin Donuts, or just take a ride in the countryside, there are plenty of maps at the house and a huge amount of pamphlets with tons of ideas of places to go.

A little piece of Heaven!

Fabulous fall getaway :)

The cottage was every bit as charming as advertised and then some. The location was perfect and the owners couldn't be nicer. They even left us homebaked cookies and all the fixings for smoores - what more could you ask for.

This is a lovely little spot by a lovely lake. Walk to swim in the gentle waters. Float for hours. Grill on the deck. Rhonda is both delightful and accommodating. The property has all you need for eating and sleeping. The bed is comfy. Go. Enjoy.

Beautiful Quaint Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a relaxing weekend in the beautiful grandmas cottage that is right across a beautiful lake. Walking up and having coffee looking at the serene lake was quite something.

If you are planning on kayaking I would recommend taking your own kayak as there are no rental places nearby.

family time

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for spacious rooms, look elsewhere. The cabin is small, but big enough for excellent family time. From the moment you enter the property you feel at home. It is peaceful and quiet. The location was perfect for day trips and antiquing. I spent a week there with 4 children(all teenagers) and we had a great time. Swimming at the beach, a short walk away. Smores in the firepit in the back yard. Giggles and laughs throughout the night . All in all, a great place to stay.

Welcoming

  • 5 of 5

So welcoming!!

We almost do not want to review this home in fear that it will be constantly booked and we won't be able to reserve it AGAIN:)

It is a quaint little cabin. The big difference from other houses we have rented is this IS a HOME!!! You feel that from the first conversation with Rhonda!

We WILL look to rent this cabin again!!!

Great place just as advertised

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for a week visiting family and the house was great. We have two young kids and Rhonda was nice enough to have a pack and play, highchair and kids bed already set up when we got there. Both the front and the back porch were great for the relatives to relax and enjoy time with the grandkids. People were leaving the same day we arrived and the place was fully cleaned and ready for our arrival. We flew in fairly late and Rhonda was more then happy to meet my father to show him around as well as give him keys prior to our arrival. We will look forward to another stay next time we are back.

Owner's Response: Oh thank you! Wish we could have actually met in person!!! Met you Dad and your Grandmother, and they were lovely!!! We try to accommodate all of our guests needs, and with little ones, they needed a small bed. Our porch swing unhooks from the ceiling and the back drops down to make a small bed. It worked out perfectly!!! We also have a pack and play from our Grandchildren, it sure comes in handy!!! So happy you enjoyed your visit with your family. Hope to meet you someday!!! Thank you very much!!!

We have an artesian well, the water is iron rich, which used to be sold in bottles as : "HEALING WATERS" as it was thought to be so good for you because it had so many minerals in it. We have two filters in the basement which we change after each guest, but sometimes there is a bit of a reddish tinge, the water is perfectly fine and we have been using it for 70 years plus. Four houses down from our cottage is the stone gates of the original location where the water was sold. I mention this because if you were to wash any white or light items in the washer, it could change the color a bit. The lake is spring fed. so the water is just wonderful, your skin feels like silk when you get out of the lake or the shower, it is very good for your skin. We provide bottled water to drink, if you prefer, but we cook with the well water and make coffee and pasta and everything else you would use water for in your kitchen.
