Waterskiing and Watersports: The legendary Lake Powell is only 91 miles from our cabin. Lake Powell is in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Breathtaking landscape extended into both Arizona and Utah with nearly 2,000 miles of shoreline and 150 miles long. The 400 foot deep lake surrounds you with spectacular rock canyons towers. It embraces you with rosy sand beaches and and millions of shimmering stars at night.
I live in Las Vegas, NV with my wife Julie and our 4 kids.
I have been a medical sales rep. for 10 years.
Ryan purchased this cabin in 2007
My wife and I fell in love with Zion National park and our cabin area after my Uncle organized a family reunion in the area. We purchased a one acre parcel and built our cabin in 2007. We love making family memories in our cabin and the surrounding area.
We were here for our annual women's retreat and we absolutely love your home. The decor is beautiful, the house is beautiful. We appreciate you opening up your home to us and we just thank God for leading us to Zion Ponderosa Ranch. We will most definitely be back! Thank you.
This was a lovely , well equipped home shared by 15 of us which included three generations of adults , of which four were married couples, and the other seven were millennials (cousins, boyfriends/girlfriends). Plenty of beds and bed options in this five bedroom home. There was seating for all between one table and one island , plenty of crockery and cookware , two refrigerators to hold food for the week and a heck of a well equipped kitchen. Ryan, the owner, was a dream to work with , answering many questions, and even responding to my query of whether there were two fridges with a "hope to get a second one up there in the next two weeks" which he did, in the couple of weeks before our Thanksgiving stay there. The location out past the east entrance of the park was not as convenient to Springdale as some rentals might be so if you are hoping to eat out lots of meals, staying here means a 30 minute drive to town or heading there directly after a day of hiking. We routinely hiked until late afternoon, hit Springdale for a latte and crepes , and then headed home to our cozy cabin where we cooked a simple meal. We didn't venture to a nearby restaurant we were told about so can't comment on services nearby. I thought it was a really good value for such a nice five bedroom home accommodating so many people in this particular area of Utah. The drive into the park to take the signature hikes on the floor of Zion National Park is spectacular and we never tired of it. The house puts you in a good location to drive to Bryce National Park for a day. Given our trip was in November, the days were short, but fabulous temperatures for hiking in the desert sunshine . It was our second Thanksgiving in Zion.
I highly recommend this house and this owner!
Our party of 8 adults and 8 kids was very comfortable in this cabin. The location was convenient to the east entrance to Zion. The deck was amazing for star gazing and for all to gather together for dinner. I would definitely stay here another time if I had a large group. We feel lucky to have found this place!
Beautiful cabin with tons of space to comfortably fit a big party.
The only negatives were the TVs are a bit dated, but worked (who comes to watch tv anyways?). Additionally, though the cabin is about 15 minutes from the east entrance, the shuttles to go to the main trails (Angels Landing, Narrows, etc.) are on the west side, so it takes more like an hour to get there, otherwise everything was great!
We went to this cabin in May with a big group and it was amazing! The location really is ideal and the house is stocked with everything you would need. We would totally stay here again.
Wonderful property with plenty of room for multiple families. Enjoy great access to east entrance to Zion. Close enough for easy day trips to Bryce, North Rim and Lake Powell. Leave time to enjoy on site activities on Zion Ponderosa (atv, paintball, zip line, horseback). Fire pit to enjoy s'mores under a blanket of stars. Owner was extremely helpful and attentive.
Mountain Star Cabin was the perfect place for our family to gather and enjoy beautiful Southern UT. There was plenty of space for everyone. I love how each room had multiple beds which was perfect for an extended family gathering. The cabin had everything we needed, all the cooking supplies, toiletries and even things like a high chair and bed for our 12 mo old.
I didn't realize what a great location it was until we arrived. It is just 2 miles from the East entrance of Zions park. We loved visiting this area of the country and were grateful to have a place to stay that was so close. Interestingly if you were to ask the kids what their favorite part of our trip was they would say "the cabin!" instead of anything in the park.
If given a chance we would absolutely stay here again:)
Our Cabin is situated in an area called Zion Ridge that backs up to Zion National Park.
Although we are tucked away amongst the Ponderosa Pines outside Zion, we are very close to several other great areas of interest:
Brian Head Ski Resort (73 miles), Bryce Canyon N.P. (75 miles), Cedar Breaks N.P. (62 miles), Lake Powel (91 miles), Navajo Lake (51 miles), & Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park (25 miles).
If you are not interested in taking a short drive to these areas, you can take a short walk (300 yards) to an adjacent small mountain resort with many activities such as: ATV riding, horseback riding, shooting, paintballing, archery, zip line, a rock climbing wall, basketball/tennis court, horseshoes, and many other activities for adults and kids alike.
Don't be fooled, these activities are great fun, but it is sometimes more fun to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Other Activities: Rock Wall, ATV's, Zip Line, Paint Ball, Billiards, Ping Pong
Golf: There is a Par-3 golf course about 12 miles from the cabin at Mt Carmel junction.
Ski: Brian Head Ski Resort is the main resort most Las Vegans travel to for great Utah Snow Skiing.
