About The Sirkin Family

We are 4 siblings who grew up spending summers, holidays, ski breaks and many wonderful gatherings of friends and family at this classic New England house. Our mom bought the property when I was a baby. Three of us now live on the West coast and my sister Susannah lives in Boston. She is pictured here between the 2 lovely daughters of our caretaker, Lisa.

The Sirkin Family purchased this farmhouse in 1961

Why The Sirkin Family chose Dartmouth - Lake Sunapee

Our parents both have New England roots, on our mother's side going back to the Pilgrims, and our father was born in Vermont. Our dad was a US diplomat and we lived in Washington, DC when our mom went looking for a place to have as a New England base for the family. The property was just what she was looking for; a charming old colonial era house down the end of a dirt road on 100 acres, outside a quaint historic town, with a gorgeous lake and skiing nearby.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Peace and tranquility, rustic antique charm, lovely private swimming pond, birch trees, nearby lake, hiking, skiing, and boating.

Would return here anytime and highly recommend this beautiful historical property.

Grandparents, parents and children had a great week here.

The boys liked the pond so much that they chose to ignore the lake!

Lisa, property manager, was responsive to any questions.

There are many "extras" in this house so it feels like a home.

It is historic yet comfortable.

Go and enjoy!

Great property

  • 4 of 5

The Sirkin family home and property was great. We enjoyed the expansive yard playing lawn games and taking a dip in the pond. We took a walk down the trail to Crescent Lake which was enjoyable too.

The house was clean, plenty of towels, cooking supplies/tools, etc. There was a lot of space/rooms for each family to have a spot of their own. We had an uncharacteristically hot few days so it was hard to get the upstairs cool even with fans and windows open.

Overall we enjoyed the character of the house and the country setting away from the hustle and bustle.

Absolutely lovely. Paradise for the dog! House is amply stocked and extremely comfortable on hot summet nights with open windows and fans.

We had a great time once again!

  • 5 of 5

Havurat Shalom had a wonderful retreat time at the Sirkin House this weekend. We were small in number, but very comfortable, especially with the wonderful weather and the pond. Even the bugs were cooperative. Looking forward to next year!

A great property for our weekend away!

  • 5 of 5

The Sirkin Family home was super for our long weekend away. Everything was as stated. The house was very clean. It was plenty big enough for our party of 11 and was fully stocked with dishes, condiments, wood, sleds, extra blankets and many specialty kitchen appliances! Our group sled, skied and hiked all over the grounds. Thank you for having us!!
