Great holiday in a fantastic house
Our family stayed here for two weeks in September 2018 and had a fantastic time. The villa is in a rural location, surrounded by olive groves and a few other properties. It's great place to relax. There's a great supermarket a short drive away and it's also close to Lucca, where we spent a lot of time.
Inside, the house was spotlessly clean and had great space for a family holiday. The two double bedrooms are really spacious and the smaller bedroom is perfect for kids. The weather was very hot when we were there so we were thankful of AC in all bedrooms.
Outside, there's a lovely garden that is secure (fence, lockable gates) so it's great for kids to play in. Also, there are two great areas for alfresco dining.
The host, Stefania, was extremely helpful and was always on hand via whatsapp to answer any questions or help with arrangements in the local area.
We'd love to come back.
Gorgeous Home, Lovely People
I stayed at Stefania's holiday home for 3 months. I was in Italy alone, it was my first time out of the country, and from day one until the time I returned home, she took exceptional care of me. I arrived during the olive harvest, so I was thrilled to have been given the opportunity to help harvest with Stefania's crew. Topping that I was able to enjoy her delicious fresh oil after the work was done. The house is probably best spent in the warmer months, but if you have the luxury to have both the warmth and the olive harvest, then please do it! The house is cleaned bi-weekly by a very meticulous woman who I praised every chance I got. Also enjoyed lovely views, and very nicely decorated interior. I hope to return with my family in the near future. Thank you so much my dear friend. Ciao to your wonderful family!
Exactly as described better
Best house.well maintained great owners 1st class all ways. Will return
Peaceful, lovely country home
My sister and her husband, my husband and myself (all "seniors") rented this home in Tuscany, Lucca, Capannori, Italy for one week. It has been lovingly restored and met all our needs for our stay, with the exception of not having a clothes dryer (Americans of NOT used to hanging out clothes to dry) but we managed just fine with the clothesline and rack!!) Other appliances were certainly adequate for all our needs. Stefania graciously met us on our first day (GPS in car not spot-on) to show us to the house, and the one time we had a problem, she met us promptly to solve it. This home is conveniently located to be able to explore the Tuscany region. We visited Pisa, Firenze, Viareggio and, of course, Lucca and surrounding areas. This home was clean and, since the weather was lovely with cool evenings, we didn't have to use any Air Conditioning. I loved having my morning coffee and orange juice sitting outside under the gazebo listening to the birds sing. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to experience the Tuscany region and would not hesitate to also say that this would be an exceptional place for a longer stay so you could really get into the Italian routine of quiet afternoons and busy evenings! Restaurants and grocery stores are not far from this home and this information was posted inside for our convenience. Thank you again, Stefania, for sharing your property with us! Ciao!
Beautiful house in Toscana and very nice owners! We enjoyed very nice week in this typical stone house and beautiful places in Toscana. Special thanks to Stefania for all kindness!
A few kilometers from the holiday home you can visit the beautiful villas of Lucca. They are found in the countryside and in the hills surrounding the plain of Lucca and still represent a wealth of remarkable beauty. The villas of Lucca were built from the fifteenth to the nineteenth century as summer residences alternatives to winter in the city at the behest of the upper classes of the city of Lucca. These prestigious residences are still mostly in private hands through passes from generation to generation.
The structure of the villas of Lucca's own work of art: large, wooded gardens, porches, halls, frescoes and statues, parks with ponds, fish and lakes. In the construction of these works of urban bourgeoisie set within olive trees and vineyards, the Lucchese have altered the landscape, taking as their primary consideration the beauty. Visitors are in contact with a plurality of values ranging between architecture and landscape, agriculture and traditional activities, creating a contemplative and intimate. The most famous villas are: Villa Mansi in Segromigno in Monte, Villa Torrigiani in Camigliano, Villa Oliva in San Pancrazio, Villa Reale in Marlia.
Close to the holiday home is the Road of Wine and Oil of Lucca, Montecarlo and Versilia, in the province of Lucca. It is unique in Tuscany for enveloping and penetrating beauty of its natural landscapes, full of light and color. From the white marble peaks of the Apuan Alps, which frame the blue of the sea Versilia by Forte dei Marmi, Viareggio, the look passes, without interruption, through the old towns of Seravezza, Pietrasanta, Camaiore and Massarosa to get along sweet and bright Lucca hills in the capital, a city rich in history and art, and then continue to the sunny slopes to discover the historic villas in the municipality of Capannori, Montecarlo with its fortress and ending at Altopascio, the city of bread and the Knights of the Tau. This land, the Lucca region, which includes such a spectacular variety of natural environments - sea, mountains, valleys, hills - and historical centers, living guardians of an ancient culture, fueled by centuries our rural culture. An ancient agriculture, which in the cultivation of the land, the grapes and olives, in the practice of fishing, produced knowledge and tastes closely linked to our most vital traditions. Today the visitor along the Wine Route and Oil, can live and enjoy a "basket" of typical Lucchese that pass by DOC wines Montecarlo and Colline Lucchesi to the lightness of the extra virgin olive oil DOP Lucca, the fragrant loaves of master bakers of Alton productions high crafted norcineria Gombitelli and dairymen mountain, the refined dishes based on fish of Versilia with the myriad colors of fruit and vegetable production qualified and flowers. An invitation to walk through the streets of the Wine and Oil of Lucca, Montecarlo and Versilia to learn about and buy oil and wine of high quality.
