The Jungalow is small but cozy & meets all your needs for an exciting yet relaxing Glamping experience.

The main room has a queen sized bed & a breakfast bar with a view.
We are about 600ft above sea level so we do not need a/c. The fan in the room is enough to keep it cool.

The attached outdoors screened kitchenette has a single burner propane stove, a small refrigerator, microwave, Coffee maker, toaster and an electric kettle. Plates, cups, bowls, spoons knives and forks, cork screw/bottle openers etc are provided. We provide some starter coffee and condiments & guests are also welcome to purchase our coffee bags if they are avid coffee drinkers.

Bathroom is detached & right across the cottage only a few steps away for your convenience. Fresh set of towels and toiletries is provided.

Over all good experience
Unit had a nice view, airy, plenty of room. Had some problems with kitchen appliances working properly. Didn’t realize from the listing it was a shared bathroom. Vehicle noise at night was a bit loud.

Small, but had all the essentials.
When all three cottages are rented out, the parking can be a bit challenging. For someone who is not about the glitz and glam of a high end hotel, this is perfect. Love the sounds of all the farm animals in the evening and early morning. Would stay here again for sure.

Anniversary getaway
The property was beautiful and I really enjoyed the peacefulness. The views of the sunrise were amazing and the smell of the fruit trees with the gentle breeze blowing made for a super relaxing experience. The cottage was well maintained and had its own sweet charm to it.

Lovely Cottage tucked away on Hamakua Coast
We enjoyed our brief one night stay at the Tiki Cottage (I think it was called?) Our hosts were quiet and busy with their farm work. We were not successful in following the printed directions to the waterfall hike. Beautiful views and gorgeous sunrise 🌅

Hi!

Im your host Sidra. I have been living and working on the coast as a professional host for 4 years. Im passionate about giving people memorable life experiences they'll cherish for life.

Why they chose this property

Hamakua Sunrise Farm is not your regular BNB. We are primarily focused on Agri-Tourism, Spirituality & Art showcasing; regenerative farming, permaculture, sustainability & art in a spiritual, yogic & relaxing environment. Farm to Table meals, Sunrise over the Ocean & Shooting Stars at Night. We also offer farm tours & Art sessions for a richer Hawaiian Experience.
5 Min walk to Papaaloa Country Store.
35min from Hilo airport.

What makes this property unique

We welcome all plant, nature, Art & spirituality enthusiasts on our farm and share our dream & knowledge with them. Our farm is only 4 years old but with our hard work and commitment we have achieved a lot and already producing a lot food on this farm.

We use our vegetable garden to grow Eggplants, Tomatoes, Edible & Medicinal Herbs, Greens, perennial spinach, Sweet potatoes, Taro. Also have Kobocha pumpkin patches spread around the farm.

We have multiple mature fruit trees like Banana, Avocados, Pineapples, Lychee, Longon, Tangerines, lemons, Calamansi, Guavas, Lilikoi (Passionfruit), Dragon Fruit, Jackfruit, Star Fruit, Soursop (2022 first fruiting season), Papayas, Coconuts, Malabar chestnut, Bilimbi, Surinam Cherry & Coffee.

We have also planted more tropical grafted trees that are already 2 to 3 years old. Some of these trees include Mango, avocado, more citrus & cacao.

We practice various permaculture practices on the farm and hope to fulfill our dream of becoming self-sufficient & provide affordable/free food to our community. Our animal manure & organic waste goes to feed our trees. We rely on rainwater catchment and our grey water is diverted to water our plants. Our chickens are free ranging mostly fed from food scraps from the farm.

Our Art Cafe is a cool rustic hangout spot constructed from recycled sustainable materials & provides space to get your creative juices flowing. We provide paints, canvas & various other supplies.

Make yourself a nice cup of hot chocolate and hangout at our deck for stargazing at night. The milky way galaxy is fully visible in our sky due to very little light pollution. You will most likely see and wish upon a shooting star! If you're visiting in August, the Perseid meteor shower will take your breath away.

There is also a private access to some secluded waterfalls from the property. You can get adventurous and hike down and spend the day exploring and swimming in waterfalls.
