About Djuna Perkins

I am a lawyer living near Boston with my husband and three children, but I grew up in Woodstock, New York.

Djuna Perkins purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Djuna Perkins chose Becket

Living and working in the city, I missed the country and thought the best way to teach my kids to care for the earth was to make sure they had a place where they could actually see and appreciate the natural world, and where we could all get away from the madness of the electronic world.

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin is an incredibly restful place. From the breeze on the screened porch to the unbelievable stars and the air at night, to the simplicity of its furnishings, it is just the place to get away from it all and remember who you are.

Truth In Advertising

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the end of June and were delighted to find the cabin as advertised; clean, neat and with every convenience but, thankfully, with no Internet. Enjoyed the canoe and the many cultural offerings nearby. The owners put a great deal of thought into their home, and it shows. Reasonably priced in a funky, eclectic development. Would definitely stay again.

We had a great time

  • 4 of 5

My family of 4 had a lovely time. We enjoyed the snow, a walk around the small lake, the surrounding towns, and the peace. The place is as cozy and well stocked as advertised...the open air living area and the wood stove getting most use! Although the bathroom is small and the hot water limited, we really enjoyed our family time there. By the way, the snoopy puzzle is missing one piece, to the right of his nose, just as an FYI! Thank you.

Lovely cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time (yet again) staying in this cabin! It's perfect for a couple nights tucked away! We love that it's secluded and in the winter it's perfect for holing up by the woodstove and staying cozy inside. The kitchen is wonderfully functional for cooking and dining and the beds are comfortable. We especially adore the sectional couch for lounging!

We also love that the Sherwood Shoppe is just down the road. We always enjoy staying in Djuna's properties and she has been a lovely host over the years

Cozy, relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in Excaliber! We loved making fires at night and doing puzzles and napping on the screened in porch. We canoed in the lake both days and one day it was warm enough to take a dip. It was perfectly quiet and serene in the cabin. We also enjoyed walks on the dirt roads. Thanks for a great stay!
