We're a family of 5 with a passion for traveling. We love staying in vacation rentals and do so almost exclusively. Some of our favorite rentals have been on Cape Cod, Cape Ann, Maui, St. Augustine, and in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. A huge part of the fun for me is in the planning of trips--I've been known to look at hundreds of homes before I book. ;-) So fun to see different homes, different styles, different neighborhoods. There is no comparison between staying in a hotel and staying in someone's home. We just love it.
Suzy Palacio purchased this house in 2007
My husband John grew up on a ranch in Lamoille and really wanted our boys to experience the quiet pristine beauty of Lamoille. We bought this home because it's close enough to where we live in Elko that we can get to enjoy it many weekends a year. We always say that we can literally feel our blood pressure drop 10 points when we drop down the last hill into Lamoille. There's a peacefulness about the property that's very hard to describe but unlike any place else for us.
We love that our home feels like it's in the "country" but still is very close to great food and two great taverns. You can barhop with no driving required!
No visit would be complete without a drive into Lamoille Canyon, sometimes referred to as the "Nevada Alps" or "Nevada's Yosemite." Just 10 minutes from the house.
Suzy, What a beautiful and accommodating house!!! It was perfect in every way! Can't wait to stay here again in peaceful Lamoille. Are the deer that graze around the house on the payroll?? Thanks for everything and I'm looking forward to another week's stay!
The house is very nice and well-maintained. There was space for all of our family to be together and yet we had individual space too. Kids love to play in the water and the little creek in back of the house was a good place for them. Also lawn to play on while the adults chatted on the patio. The kitchen is well equiped. We appreciated the suggestions for picnics and hikes in the area. We had a great weekend! Suzy & John are good hosts.
A well maintained and equipped vacation rental. A perfect location for day hikes in the Ruby Mountains. Three couples shared the home and found the home and grounds a relaxing retreat after a long day of hiking. Suzy, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating. When we come back to the Ruby's this is where we will stay.
Great home in quiet neighborhood. The house was large and accommodated our party of 3-4 perfectly. Fresh flowers, fine mattresses and high end appliances were appreciated. Highly recommend this home for anyone staying in the Elko, Lamoille location.
This home is perfect for a family or small group of friends to gather, relax, and enjoy a peaceful retreat. The home is exactly as listed; Suzy is very accommodating and helpful. There are two nice restaurants right up the street, all the fun in Elko just 25 minutes away; and, the beautiful Ruby Mountains access is mere minutes from this home. This is our second stay with a group of friends and we will definitely return.
Beautiful home decorated in the western motif and perfect for family or a group of friends. Kitchen has everything you could possibly need for a gourmet meal. Top end appliances. Bedrooms are open but very private. Yard provides a comfortable area to unwind, BBQ and watch the wildlife. This was our third visit to Little Creek Crossing and look forward to our next visit.

Rented this house for a family gathering of my husband and his sibs. Amazing place that really goes far beyond the descriptions. Loved the well-stocked kitchen, cooking was a fun, often group effort. The bedrooms are wonderful, beds are comfy. Lots of little spaces to hide away & read a book if you needs some alone time. And they have a huge selection of books on hand, if you didn't bring one. The yard is stunning, the creek is peaceful, and the critters are plentiful. Even had a visit from a raccoon walking up the creek, great pics! The area has a lot to offer: Lamoille Canyon being the best, with MANY choices of places to hike, picnic & recreate. Also a trip to the Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge scored some photos of wild horses running along the road! Breathtaking. And just walking around town is fun: the beautiful Prebysterian church stained glass windows and the brand new baby horse. It was a wonderful vacation. The hosts were great! Thank you John & Suzy for your gracious accomodations and for being so helpful. We appreciated the call you made to check and see if everything was going okay. HIGH RECOMMENDATIONS to all!
