Overview

About the property

Bedrooms: 1, bathrooms: 2, sleeps 4.

Villa Arcangela B is a characteristic and welcoming two-story independent house which faces the sun and the sea. It sleeps four people. From Villa Arcangela B you will enjoy a wonderful view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi. Villa Arcangela B is 65 square meters (700 square feet). It features two nice private terraces with a view of the sea, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed) and winter heating.

You will be roughly 3 km (1.9 miles) from the center of Amalfi, where you will find restaurants, shops, public transportation, the beach and the tourist port. You will find the closest restaurant at 1.5 km (roughly 1 mile), a grocery store at 400 meters (440 yards), the stop for the SITA bus Amalfi - Pogerola line a few meters (feet) away and the closest beach (Santa Croce Beach) at roughly 1 km (0.6 miles) including 350 stairway steps (other beaches with less steps to climb are also available in the area). You will reach Villa Arcangela B from the street level going up a short public walkway that includes approximately 20 stairway steps.

You will not need a car to stay at Villa Arcangela B. If you do have one, you will be able to park it for a fee, along the public roads (the actual distance might vary depending on the availability of parking spaces) or in a private parking lot (where a space can be reserved). The parking space is suitable for at most one car. Private parking must be reserved ahead of time; we kindly ask you to let our staff know, so that we can make the necessary arrangements for you. Villa Arcangela B is one of the holiday homes available in a small complex (you can find these holiday homes on this website). Please find a general description of the complex below, and please scroll further down for a description of Villa Arcangela B.

Villa Arcangela A and B are two apartments that are part of a medieval building, that used to be an ancient Saracen watch tower. It is placed high up on a picturesque tract of rocky coast, at a height of approximately 100 meters (330 feet) above the sea level, and almost sheer above the sea itself. Every view of the seascape in this area is truly breathtaking.

The building is part of a bunch of ancient houses that cling to the top of a rocky spur, all facing the sea and the sun, and surrounded by lemon growths. Here the authentic locals of Amalfi live their life, with its quiet rhythm, and there is no crowd of tourists.

You will reach it walking uphill for approximately 20 meters (20 yards) along a short pedestrian alley. Once beyond the main door, you will find yourself in a small yard, closed on three sides by white walls, and open on the fourth side on a spectacular view of the coast and of the sea.

 Ground FloorTerrace 1

The first terrace is 25 square meters (270 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by a perfumed bougainvillea pergola and by trees. It is equipped with a table, chairs and two deck chairs. From the terrace you will enjoy a splendid view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi.

Living Room

The living room is paved with tiles with handmade decoration, in the characteristic style of the Amalfi Coast. The furnishings are cozy and comfortable. The furnishings include an armchair and two single divan beds. In the living room you will also find a cooking area. The kitchenette is equipped with a four-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a small refrigerator with freezer and an Italian-style coffee-maker. The dining table can accommodate four guests. In this room you will find a television (local channels) and a CD player with FM radio. From the living room you will be able to enter the first terrace with a view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi through two double-glazed French doors. The room is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.

Bathroom

The bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a fully enclosed shower and a hairdryer. Here you will also find a washing machine. You will be able to enter the bathroom from the living room.

First FloorTerrace 2

The second terrace is 25 square meters (270 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by a characteristic pergola with a bamboo roof. It is equipped with a table, chairs, a sun umbrella and sun loungers. From the terrace you will enjoy a gorgeous view of the sea.

Bedroom with en-suite bathroom

You will be able to enter the bedroom from the first terrace along an external stairway. The bedroom has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/62 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). In this room you will find a television (local channels). From the bedroom you will be able to enter the second terrace with a view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi through a French door. The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a fully enclosed shower and a hairdryer.

Lovely place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Lovely place to stay. Plenty of space and light and views. Only downside was having to go outside and use the stairs to get to the bedroom.

Antonio, who takes cares of the place, was warm, friendly, informative, helpful and enthusiastic.

All good.

We are 2 women in our late 60s

  • 4 of 5

We are 2 women in our late 60s. We loved Villa Arcangela B! It was tranquil and had beautiful views, just up the hill, a short local bus ride from the hustle and bustle of Amalfi. It had everything we required for a 6 day stay and for cooking simple meals. We used the 2 day beds downstairs. The double bedroom is accessed via steps outside the main apartment, although this is a bit odd it is safe, self contained, easily accessible and has great views from the terrace.

Antonio [the caretaker] is a treasure. He checked in with us almost everyday but not in an intrusive way. He took us to a restaurant at the top of the hill that was magnificent, with great views, great food and staff that came to introduce themselves - even the chef, all at a good price. Antonio even organised a trip back to our accommodation. Maria, Antonio's wife, had the apartment in pristine condition for our visit.

Everyone's needs are different but Villa Arcangela B suited our needs perfectly. Big thanks to Antonio and Maria.

My dealings with Summer In Italy were seamless. Communication was clear and prompt and the information provided was just plain common sense. I have no hesitation in referring you to family and friends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Arcangela B

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Arcangela B.

It is a little off the beaten track and if relying on public transport it can pose some challenges in getting to and from.

Beautiful spot for us

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful spot for us - one couple and sister. Would not recommend for 2 couples as there is no second bedroom but for one additional guest or 2 kids - perfect.

Loved the rustic interior with the modern baths. Kitchen was small but very adequate. Living room was lovely and cool all the time and nice and airy.

Maria [the caretaker] was extremely helpful to us as we had arrived late in the evening - she went out to the small GAS bar to get us pizza!

Bus service to town was regular and easily accessed. We also walked to the mercato which had lots of food items and a small meat/vegetable section.

Overall the villa was more than adequate for us. We did not intend on renting a car, so the bus service was great and inexpensive to the towns on the Amalfi coast.

I was extremely pleased with the service from Summer in Italy. First of all, Luca got in touch with me immediately when I first emailed him. He continued to correspond in a timely matter and answered all of my queries. When I had to change our arrival time, he accommodated us and let the owner know. We received an extensive information package (via email) about the area and customs of where we staying which was invaluable. The directions to the villa were accurate and comprehensive and we received everything in good time to review before our trip. This allowed us to have a great deal of confidence in our choice of both the villa we booked and Summer In Italy. I highly recommend Summer In Italy to anyone planning to book a trip to Italy. Their personal service was most helpful and reassuring for a first time visitor.
