Overview

Photos and Description of this Grand Lake holiday cabin

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-5)

Come stay in our charming, mountain lake home and enjoy the gorgeous, 180 degree views of Rocky Mountain National Park and Shadow Mountain Lake. Cook up a hearty breakfast in the kitchen and enjoy a cup of coffee while savoring the views, quiet location, and easy access to numerous activities. An artesian spring and willow bushes provide natural attractions for moose, fox, elk and other animals which you will likely see during your visit.

Spend a fun-filled day skiing, snowshoeing or browsing the shops in Grand Lake. How about sledding or cross country skiing with your family? This cabin is the ideal place for you to make those special memories that will last a lifetime. Have fun hanging out together and getting away from it all - enjoy board games, doing a puzzle, or just relaxing in the laid back Colorado mountains.

Have lunch or dinner in one of the many fine local restaurants. Perhaps you will decide to explore the night life in the valley, or maybe a relaxing evening at home is in order. The full kitchen has everything you need to make a wonderful home-cooked meal.

Return to the cozy cabin after a busy day in the mountains and sink into the soft recliner couch with a bowl of popcorn to watch a movie. When it's time for bed, climb our signature spiral staircase to the master bedroom and loft, aka 'the fort,' which is perfect for the young and the young at heart. Then nestle under the warm quilts for sweet dreams, until you awake to another amazing day in Grand Lake, Colorado.

**We also own the Moose Cabin, #218770. Rent one or both cabins! They are on the same 1/2 acre, but separate. A great place for two families to stay.*** OR consider our Grey Fox Condo in Granby Ranch #4352958. Ski, golf, fish, and mountain bike in this gorgeous valley and then relax in our well appointed condo. Ski-in/ski-out!

About The Owner

We love the Grand Lake area and all of the outdoor activities it offers. We especially enjoy relaxing at the cabin when we are not going up to work! As lovely as the cabin is, we are always making improvements. We figure if we are comfortable there, our guests will be as well.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2006

Why The Owner chose Rocky Mountain National Park

Skiing, hiking, wildlife, views, fishing, boating, snowshoeing! We really love escape the city and play in the mountains.

What makes this cabin unique

Recently, we had a gorgeous moose wander across our property. We quietly trailed it, taking many pictures. What a huge animal - we certainly kept our distance! We've observed elk while eating out on the deck.

The winter snowfalls are amazing. Stay warm inside or choose one of the many outdoor adventures. The summers are cooler than in Boulder, and we can see far more stars!

Summer offers hiking in RMNP, biking, golf, boating, fishing, wildlife viewing, grilling on the deck. Much less traffic and way less crowded in Grand Lake than other CO tourist destinations. Come play in our wonderful mountain paradise!

Guestbook comments from the owner

and how clean it is. We really enjoyed our stay. Our last adventure was having a hummingbird get stuck in the house. We finally got it out, poor baby. Hope to come again. :)

Charming, warm and enjoyable

  • 5 of 5

My family loved the cabin so much we are considering moving up to Grand county. The oldest of us choose to sleep in the "fort". Lots of giggling up there! No wild life on our visit but we awoke to snow and a bright sky. Will recommend to any and all.

Relaxing Mountain Escape

  • 5 of 5

The Star Cabin was a perfect escape by the lake. The views are gorgeous and they have a cute coffee nook where we enjoyed our morning cup of joe. The kitchen made it possible to make all our meals there and relax by the fire. We especially loved the kid fort and can't wait to bring our nieces up with us next time!

Fantastic Cabin for Two!

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I really enjoyed our stay at Star Cabin. It had everything we needed. We even used the crockpot one day, so the chicken chili was ready when we returned from hiking in RMNP. We spent the majority of our time on the deck enjoying the beautiful views of Grand Lake. Angie was wonderful to work with & made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us! We look forward to our next trip!

Owner's Response: It sure makes our day when our guests enjoy the cabin as much as we always do! I also love having a crockpot up there. Great for chili, or a meal assembled at home and then poured into the crockpot before you head out for the day's adventures. We look forward to you returning!

Autumn at Star Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is a very cozy cabin in a beautiful area of Colorado. It was well maintained, clean, and well stocked with the necessities (tp, paper towels, trash bags, linens, etc) we relaxed on the deck which affords a great view of the lake, explored the Rockies and surrounding area, watched movies on the dvd, sat around the fire pit while enjoying the night sky, and viewed terrific wildlife (elk, moose, and deer)

During our visit the aspen were gorgeous in yellows, golds ,oranges, and reds. Grand lake was Crystal clear and the weather perfect with temps 40's at night, 60's in the day.

Hopefully we will make it back for a return visit in the future!
