Loft - Quintessential style Milano Ticinese Air Conditioning - WiFi

4 Reviews
Bedrooms 2
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 2 - 5 nights

Photos and Description of this Ticinese holiday apartment

Extremely modern loft, with sophisticated material and design. With air cond.

Loft belongs to a dear neighbor who moved permanently to Paris but wants to keep a pied-à-terre in Milan, for the couple of times a year when they're back.

Published in top-end interior design and architectural magazines like "Le case di Abitare" and "Marie Claire Maison", the owners are internationally renowned art dealers, which really shows in the sheer original taste that shaped the project: a taste that uniquely combines essential contemporary design with a homey feeling that will welcome you warmly after a day of work or sightseeing.

You enter in a vast living area, formed by an open and super-equipped steel kitchen, a dining table for 6/8, and a TV zone with a sofa for 3. Three steps up lead to a huge mezzanine, with a very comfortable sofa bed (mattress size 140x200), big floor cushions, bookshelves etc.

From the entrance level, on the ground floor, another brief flight of steps leads downstairs, where you'll find a stylish bathroom, a WC closet, and two dobule bedrooms (bed sizes 170x200 and 160x200).

The place is being mantained with the utmost care to every minor detail, so that it's still brand new; equal care and taste guided the choices of appliances, tableware etc.

The apt is located inside a silent private courtyard, shared with other four owners, where there's a private parking lot that you can rent on request - please do not linger in the courtyard.

The building is a friendly family oriented place, and when you book you should consider that this apt is *not a party place*.

A doorman is present every day.

This apartment can accomodate 5/6 people (ideally two couples in the two double bedrooms, and one person or a couple on the french-size sofa bed on the living room mezzanine).

Please note that the HOT WATER is provided by an electric boiler that contains 100 liters: so you can have up to 2 (o 3 very quick) quick showers in a row, and then you need to wait until the water warms up again.

A convenient paying car park is available nearby at the special rate of 15 Euro per day. Ask the owner for info.

About Bruno Sacchi

My name is Bruno, I'm 46, I live and work in Milano.

Why Bruno Sacchi chose Milano

I took mi first steps in this field 10 years ago when I started letting my parent's holiday-home in Rapallo not far from Portofino, in the Ligurian Riviera, Italy.

Since the very beginning it was a great experience both for my guests and myself: they anjoyed my attitude to the hospitality and I learned more and more about how to turn an apartment into a perfect holiday accomodaton.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Loft. The location is convenient and if you like to walk you can see all of the major sights on foot. If not, the metro is just a short walk away. The apartment is spotless, very spacious and well equipped. We found everything we needed (restaurants, food, wine) and more on the main shopping street just a 3 minute walk from the apartment. There are multiple living areas so we could spread out comfortably when we wanted to and then get back together at the large dining room table for a meal or to plan our day. The owner provided excellent customer service.

Perfectly wonderful, clean and modern apartment located in a great neighborhood. We loved our stay here and wish we could have had more time there. A very quick, 5 minutes, tram ride to the Duomo. A two minute walk to the river and an excellent Pizza restaurant (Tradizonale). Bruno is fantastic. Very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this property and would stay here again.

This Apartment was by far the best Apartment I have stayed at via HomeAway. Was exactly as I saw in the pictures, if not better! Bruno was very helpful from the day we arrived til the day we left. The area was located to all the best bars and restaurants as well as easy access to the tourist attractions; which were only a few stops on train or bus. Would definitely rent this apartment again when in Milan! Thanks Bruno, all your help was much appreciated.

Strategic location in the Ticinese district , area C. At 10 min tram ride from the Catheàdral and 5 minutes' walk from Navigli and the Zona Tortona ; less than a kilometer from Piazza Sant'Ambrogio , the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and the Museum of Science and Technology.

Ticinese district

It's inside the 17th century city walls. 15 minutes walk from Duomo.

A few meters away there are a lot of important monuments such as the basin of Leonardo, the Basilica of Sant'Eustorgio and the Arena ruins of the Roman period.

Ticinese district is also known for the night life on the canals and to be adjacent to the Zona Tortona Milan's famous design district.

Navigli area

The history of the canals in Milan begins in the second half of the twelfth century with the construction of the first fairway .

Milan is a city covered by water, crossed by rivers and canals adjusted to ingenious technical devices .

The first channel , the Ticinello , was opened in 1179 and with its 50 km length began the construction of the Naviglio Grande .

Great engineers started the project that we can still admire its innovative system of locks designed by Leonardo da Vinci in the late fifteenth century.

Over the years, the canals were very neglected and in 1977 the state handed over the management of the Naviglio Martesana to the region , which in 1980 started a project for the upgrading of the area. The canals were once very popular and were the haunt of shops and markets .

Currently the Navigli area is characterized by the presence of so many artists, models , musicians and university students thanks to the many bars and restaurants that make this area of Milan, a real pole of attraction . The atmosphere is very particular and the surrounding landscape is really exciting to see .

Walking through one of the most characteristic areas of the city, the Navigli area , hidden among bars and restaurants there is the fantastic Vico Lavandai .

The Naviglio Grande is the oldest of the channels in Milan and it was built in 1179 with the function to irrigate the countryside in Milan.

Only later in 1270 was also considered as a waterway.

The Naviglio Grande was born in Ticino and reach the center of Milan.

The Grand Canal is 48.5 km long , wide between 12 and 40 meters deep and 1 meter to 4 meters .

The transport of goods took place on barges that once you reach the dock were sorted in the ring of canals .

Through this stream is in fact carrying the marble for the construction of the Cathedral of Milan.

Even today you can admire the innovative system of locks designed by Leonardo da Vinci in the late fifteenth century.

the canals are located in the Porta Genova (MM green line). With the bus lines 94 , 3 .

What you must see in the area:

• Sant'Eustorgio Church and Portinari Chapel

• Navigli area and boat cruises

• Via Savona – Via Tortona new urban site (former industrial area)

• Tuesday and Saturday market

Tortona area

One of the most vibrant and exciting in the city , recognized as a center of expertise in design and fashion. In the Tortona area there are important opportunities and entrepreneurial leaders in the field of creativity and communication that host , organize and promote activities and events unique and of great interest throughout the year .

Just like Cinderella, Tortona area has experienced a transformation ' magic ' that made it coveted : a sophisticated princess among the districts of Milan .

Between the Naviglio Grande and Via Solari , bounded by the area of St. Augustine and the beginning of Porta Genova , the streets between Via Savona, Tortona and Stendhal form a well mixed area of fashion, design and happy hours.

It ' was one of the main areas of industrial unrest in the 60s. As proof are old disused factories , imposing buildings with skylights and exposed brick now re-evaluated . Just like the pumpkin becomes a coach , a series of artists , designers, stylists and designers turned them into the showroom, loft spaces related to culture . Old residences of workers become studio or art workshops .
