Croyde Barn is probably one of the highest specification holiday homes in Croyde, Grade II listed from the outside, uber contemporary on the inside. Each of the four bedrooms is ensuite and has a flat screen TV. Sleeps 8 with an optional sofa bed for an extra 1. The master bedroom has a Roman style bath. The kitchen is also super high spec, with 3 ovens, gloss grey units, finished with orange Corian work surfaces. You can enjoy your food in the adjoining open plan vaulted dining room, the lounge or alfresco on the BBQ terrace. But you can consider all the kitchen/dining area as just cool aesthetics and not lift a finger to cook during your stay as Croyde has three pubs, a bistro, cafe and numerous other eateries all within walking distance. It's a great village right on the coast with an easy surf-style vibe. But whilst the house is right in the village, you'll still be able to enjoy peace and quiet in the back garden.
Notes on accommodation:
As a general rule, we don't take pets, but please contact us if you wish to discuss this. There is no smoking allowed inside the house.
Outside the lounge is paved with slate flags leading round to a teak decked terrace with table and chairs and BBQ. Steps then lead to a lawned terrace. All perfect for al fresco dining morning, noon and night. Beyond the garden are open fields leading up to the hills around Croyde. There is parking for up to four cars.
Washing machine, tumble drier, iron, ironing board. This room also stores the high chairs (2), travel cots (2), stair gates (2) as well as the vacuum cleaner and other cleaning equipment.
Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service:
White linen is provided and all beds will be made up for your arrival. Each guest will be provided with a bath and hand towel. On two week holidays a mid-stay housekeeping service is offered with fresh bed linen.
Dining Room: open to the kitchen with slate floor and vaulted ceiling. This room also has a dining table/chairs, sofas and flat screen TV. The master bedroom is off a mezzanine over the kitchen/dining area.
Croyde has a great vibe both on the beach and in the village so I couldn't imagine a better place to have a holiday home. The barn has been totally renovated so that it retains its character on the outside, but has that contemporary edge on the inside.
The property was finished to a high standard, with many mod cons and excellent equipment and facilities, the property is in a perfect location, two minutes from the village centre and just a short walk to the beach.
We had a wonderful weekend with some glorious September sunshine.
Would love to stay here again.
Top quality facility with all "mod-cons" providing central accommodation for family use, close enough to walk to beaches bars restaurants.Plenty of parking and access to local shops for everyday necessities.All equipment is top notch and plenty of thought has been given to ensure visitors enjoy their stay. All our family ,who have high expectations, were very impressed by this holiday let and we will certainly hope to stay here again if we return for a similar holiday. The owner has done a top job,well done!
What an enchanting place to spend some family time!
The only drawback was finding the Barn initially but we had been on the road for six hours. From the moment we turned the key in the lock we knew that we were somewhere special. Fresh flowers and a bottle of wine were a delightful touch. Once the groceries had been delivered we had everything we needed. Cooking was a pleasure; I could have left my personal knives etc. at home. The combination oven produced perfect jacket potatoes in minutes. There were plenty of places to eat nearby but we had a very young baby and a three year old with us so it was more fun to cater for ourselves. Our main meal was generally a barbecue, here again everything was to hand.
The bedrooms and bathrooms worked out very well and we found the number of televisions a great help but of course the best times were relaxing all together in the main room.
Customer service was brilliant. The owner was helpful in every way from the time that I first booked the accommodation to instant response to my only query during the course of the week.
When it came to keeping up with the laundry and maintaining the impeccable standard of cleanliness everything was to hand and there was a drawer full of instructions and detail.
Croyde Bay beach was great fun and not too crowded, my personal highlight was walking along Baggy Point last walked on our honeymoon forty years ago. Surely this is the English coast line at its best.
I have no hesitation in recommending this property, the standards of design and equipment are pretty special.
We stayed here in June 2016 for a family holiday. With 7 of us in total - parents, siblings with partners, a 2 year old and a small dog - we were all very comfortable and the property suited us brilliantly. The house and village are both stunning and despite some very British rainy weather, we had a great time with plenty to do. We would not hesitate to go back, only hoping that next time, there is more sunshine so we can fully enjoy the number of fabulous beaches nearby!
Croyde bay barn more than made up for the Devon weather in February. Really cosy and luxurious. We were a family party with a baby up to grandparents (also a dog) and everyone was well catered for in the spacious and well equipped house. Also very conveniently placed for everything Croyde has to offer. Thoroughly recommended.
we rented the barn together with our 3 grown up children and their wives/partners for a 3 night weekend break to celebrate 2 of their birthdays - the barn is every bit as good as it appears online and is finished to a high specification any fully equipped with everything you need - situated in the centre of the village it is a very short walk to two pubs which serve excellent food and a leiurely15 minute walk to the beach - the weather was verycold but sunny and the excellent underfloor heating system ensured that the open plan rooms were kept to a cosy temperature - another plus was that there was plenty of hot water and all 4 ensuite showers could be operated at the same time - we would highly recommend this property
Croyde beach is a 10 minute walk, or a 3 minute drive with car parks right next to the bay.
Putsborough beach is 2 miles away with a car park right next to the beach and a fabulous beach cafe.
Saunton beach is approx 2 miles or a stunning walk over Lobb Hill just behind us.
Woolacombe beach is 5 miles away, taking about 15-20 minutes to drive.
Travel by car is recommended, although public transport is good.
Bus - regular bus service from to Barnstaple via Braunton
Nearest train station - is a 25 mins drive to Barnstaple
Nearest Mainline station - Tiverton (direct from/to London) 1hr drive.
Local airports - Exeter is 65 miles and a 1hr 30mins drive.
As you enter the village of Croyde continue to the centre with Brook Stores facing you, turn right here onto St Marys Road, we are approx 150 metres up here on the left.
Croyde Bay Barn is situated in the heart of Croyde village. Should you wish to go further afield Braunton is approx 4 miles and Barnstaple is approx 10 miles.

Payment by direct bank transfer or cheque. 30% on booking. Balance 8 weeks before arrival. Holidays booked within 8 weeks of the stay must be paid in full at the time of booking. Rental rate for a 2 or 3 night stay is 75% of the rental tariff, for 4 nights 80% and for 5 is 85%. To calculate the tariff use the rate band that the 1st night stay falls within. The deposit is non-refundable unless we can re-let the property so we suggest you take out an insurance policy against cancellation.
Friday changeover day for week and weekends. Flexible for midweek stays. Departure by 10am. Arrival not before 4pm. Short breaks are available out of season - please email to check availability.
Notes on prices:
The rental rate for a 2 or 3 night stay is 75% of the rental tariff, for 4 nights 80% and for 5 nights 85%. The tariff used for the calculation is the rate band that the 1st night stay falls within. There is a damage/cleaning deposit of £200 that may apply to some reservations.
When you stay with us, you get first option on the same week in the following year for the peak weeks during the summer.
