Guestbook comments from the owner

My family has been renting a place the weekend before Christmas, for a family get-together, for the last 10 years. We have stayed in Waterville Valley, Glen, Franconia Notch, and Stratford. Some places we have stayed at more than once. We have stayed at bigger places, but we have never stayed anywhere that had the warm, cozy feel of home that your cabin has. We all enjoyed staying at the cabin. It has everything. The open concept between the kitchen, dining room and living room was great for our group. I was impressed with how everything is stocked and made easy for renters. And I like how all the cabinets and drawers are labeled. Made it so easy to find things. And the recycle bins are a great idea. We usually struggle to find appropriate ways to separate everything. Your cabin will definitely be on our "places to return" list.

Perfect blend of nature and comfort

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted that there were no surprises and the house was exactly as described. We comfortably slept eight people with everyone having their own bed. The grill has four burners which made cooking for a large group go by quickly. The layout is very open. We had people in the kitchen, at the table and in the living room without feeling disconnected. There is also a balcony style sitting area that overlooks it all. We had a great time and will recommend this place to anyone that will listen. The owners made every step of the process so easy.

Great time...plenty of room.

  • 4 of 5

My family and I rented this home after another property cancelled at the last minute. We were thrilled with the size and location. There was a place for everyone to be together as well as a spot for each to have down time. We loved the deck as it overlooked the play set were the kids spent a great deal of time.

Thanks again to the Odryna family for sharing their beautiful home. We will definitely be returning.

Wilderness luxury

  • 5 of 5

The photos don't really do it justice; it is really a nice building with broad deck overlooking the forest and plenty of space. Breakfast on the deck was very enjoyable, plenty of seating. The location was surprisingly remote, with no neighbors to speak of. Ample parking for 3 cars, large yard with firepit and swings. No a/c but even on warm early summer days the fans and windows allowed a good breeze. Clean and plenty of blankets/towels. Michele was quick to respond, even to trivial questions. The process of sending and receiving keys by mail is clunky (our group arrived not in the expected order, so we had to wait an hour to get inside). I don't think the credit card fees met HomeAway's estimate. It takes some effort to clean up after a large group to the rules' specifications, but ultimately it is worth it.

Finn Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Awesome Time and the home was cozy and warm. We had 13 in our party and everyone had their own space. Kitchen was spacious and everything we needed was at hand. Our Executive Chef, Matt was able to create excellent dishes and enough service area and table was accommodating for our large group. We had snowshoes and the driveway was clear and doorways shoveled.

Great weekend getaway!

  • 4 of 5

This was a great house to stay in. Very organized. Well stocked with linens, towels, kitchen items. Open and airy. Rated it 4 stars just because the deck and welcome mats were super slippery (mossy green stuff making it slick), and some the kids and an adult fell. There were also lots of cobwebs in corners. And night ligh bulbs need to be checked. Bonus was there were fans in 4/5 bedrooms. And it would've been nice if the Nintendo and DVD players were hooked up to the TV in the basement for the kids to enjoy. We had 6 adults and 5 kids and we were all pretty happy with our stay. There is only 2 passes to the pool rec area, and the cost is $10 per person additional charge....not much, but an added expense to think about. We are hoping to rent for a ski weekend. That would be fun! Thank you for the stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. So glad you enjoyed your stay. We love that you commented that it is a great house to stay in. We agree :-). We pride ourselves in striving for a 5 out of 5 rating and work very hard to maintain a beautifully clean, organized and comfortable environment for our guests. You have provided excellent feedback and here is what we are going to do: On our next maintenance visit, which we do regularly, we'll get the decks and welcome mats power washed and/or replace the mats if needed. We were just there 2 weeks ago and thought we got all those darn cobwebs. We have a hard time keeping up with them at home too. We know that those little night light bulbs burn out pretty quick, which is why we have extra's on hand in the cabinet above the fridge labelled "Light Bulbs". We'll be sure to double check the supply. Not all of our groups include children, and often groups bring their favorite gaming systems from home, so we purposely do not hook up the Nintendo. But we'll make sure the instruction sheet is still in the drawer with the unit. We wish guests would not unhook the DVD, but sometimes they do in order to hook up their own devices, but again we'll confirm that the instruction sheet is readily available. We would love to have you back for a ski weekend. The cabin is just as cozy in the winter. Let us know what weekend(s) you are interested in. Sincerely, The Odryna Family

We were 9 adults/3 children here for a ski trip over President's weekend aka polar vortex weekend. So cold that Loon never opened on Monday. We still made it out all 3 days AND we had this great place to look forward to returning to at the end of each day.

The house had everything we needed, including easy communication with Michele (the owner) with questions we had. Plenty of utensils, towels, wood for the stove, etc. Three bathrooms really made it convenient for our group. Even though we didn't get the predicted foot of snow over the weekend, the driveway was plowed by the community association that Michele contracts with.

We were very happy with the layout and placement of the bedrooms in that the kids had bunks in the basement while we enjoyed the 3 large bedrooms on the upper levels. As other reviewers have said, every cabinet and light switch was labelled.

We all agreed we wouldn't hesitate to rent here again. Thanks, Michele!
