Photos and Description of this New Castle holiday cottage

1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom, sleeps 2

Perfect for honeymoon, romantic holiday, one person retreat CONCH SHELL COTTAGE is located on a secluded white coral sand beach with the privacy of a picket fence draped in flowering bushes and palms and acres of beach yet without being too isolated since the small 4 star Nisbet Plantation Resort and its bar and restaurants and spa is beach foot steps away. The interior, in Caribbean style vaulted ceiling, is bright, inviting and charming with original art by local artists, is immaculately clean and very well maintained. The screened-in porch has a table, chairs, hammock while the patio has comfortable chaise lounge chairs for sunning, relaxing and reading. You can see the beach and hear the waves curling over the pristine reefs and enjoy the magnificent clear evening sky with moonlight and incredibly bright stars. You will be met at airport or ferry and brought to the cottage FREE OF CHARGE. A caretaker will be available.

Why we have so many repeat guests: Conch Shell Cottage is in the best location on Nevis, on a beautiful white coral sand beach near pristine coral reefs and privately hidden by palms and tropical flowering bushes, yet close to a small upscale resort and its bar and restaurants.

Guests mention how incredible the staff is and how welcome they feel. Marlon, tall and smiling, will greet you at the airport or wherever your boat lands on Nevis. He will transport you to the cottage and happily answer your questions on the way. Then Bonnie, the caretaker, will greet you, give you an orientation to the cottage and island, and be available if you have any questions during your stay. Jeannette, the maid, has carefully cleaned the cottage for you. Henry, the gardener, has created a beautiful garden for you and will try to give you fresh fruit that he has grown. Pre arrival, I will send you info on special car rental, restaurants, things to see and do, airline info, etc.

thank you from R+S biology profs, PA: Jane, we certainly enjoyed CONCH SHELL COTTAGE. The major plus is its seclusion, the porch for reading/lounging and the chaise lounge chairs on the patio with the view/sound to the ocean/waves. We are happy to recommend CONCH SHELL COTTAGE for a honeymoon or any holiday. CONCH SHELL is a vaulted ceiling, one room cottage with attached screened-in porch and outside patio. There is a kitchenette area, a nice sized closet, separate bathroom with shower and a desk/vanity area. Jane has equipped the cottage with all the possible items that you might need/want from dish soap to wine glasses. There is a TV that helped us keep up to date with the news, too! We kept the large window and door to the screened-in porch open so we could see the ocean and hear the waves hit the beach from the large comfortable bed. We particularly enjoyed the porch because it is ideal for reading, eating and/or relaxing. There is a small patio outside the porch with great chaises lounge chairs facing the ocean view.

How our repeat guests found Conch Shell / Nevis: Until recently we only advertised our luxury 1 or 2 bedroom CORAL REEF VILLA (HomeAway #187350 or #216701) which is privately located on almost an acre of spectacular mature gardens nearby. It is so popular that guests who wanted extra days stayed also at CONCH SHELL and often wanted to return to both places. Others discovered CORAL REEF/CONCH when they had stayed at resorts or other villas on Nevis, and after exploring, decided the Nisbet Beach location was the most beautiful, convenient (with the small resort beach side facilities), secluded enough and yet without being too isolated. Other guests had been on other islands and when they visited Nevis decided that the Nisbet area was where they wanted to stay. Nevisians are known for their friendly smiles and welcome to visitors. Nevis is special with only about 10,000 people, no high rise buildings (nothing taller than a palm tree allowed), no large cruise ships, no gambling.

Wonderful, fantastic, will do this again. Great location and very easy to get to.

This was the first VRBO we have every stayed at, and we would do this again immediately. The owners have thought of everything, from transportation to the cottage, helping us rent a car, setting up a tour of the island, restaurant recommendations, and excursions ideas on the island. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very close to the beach. We didn't need a/c because of the ceiling fan and the ocean breeze. I would recommend this cottage to anyone. You will love the island of Nevis. I felt safe there and the islanders were the friendliest people I've met in a very long time. The owner was there when we stayed at this cottage and was extremely helpful to us and very kind. We loved it so much we have already re-booked another vacation at this property.

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We had a week in the Conch Shell Cottage and couldn't have been happier. The owners live nearby and arranged for our arrival by taxi and speed boat from St. Kitts! It was a fun and efficient way to get to Nevis. The cottage was small but perfect for us with ocean breezes and a beautiful view of the water. I can't imagine a more perfect temperature anywhere else on the island. No AC needed, no mosquitos (late January), no noise! It was very relaxing with plenty to explore on the island when we wanted a little adventure. The beach was 100 steps away (yes, I counted) and the swimming was fantastic. We hope to return!

Cottage in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to once again thank you so very much for your kindness, hospitality, organization, resourcefulness, friendship, etc. etc. etc. . . . . . My husband's introductory trip to Nevis was a HUGE success, and I was pleasantly surprised to see things I hadn't seen before, so we were both enthralled during our trip and ever since! We definitely believe we'll need at least 2 weeks in Nevis for the next trip!! One week went way too fast.

>Conch Shell cottage was lovely, and the proximity to the beach was

> perfect! We couldn't wait to get up and take our walk down the

> winding shoreline each morning. (A photo of the view out there is now

> my new screensaver which is putting a dent in my productivity!!)

> We're so glad we visited Nevis while you were there, Jane, and we were so pleased to get to meet you and your husband. Plus, you have a great team that helped to make our visit glitch-free---Marlon, Daisy, Wincent, Jeanette! You certainly have a piece of paradise there, and we look forward to sharing it again.

> Thank you.

We keep returning

  • 5 of 5

We found this perfect cottage nearly eight years ago and have been coming back each year we love it so much. The setting is wonderful with great ocean views and close enough to walk to the beach. The cottage has everything we need to cater for ourselves and sit and relax on the screened in porch. It is built to very high local island standards and is provided with excellent maid service from Jeanette . Jane and Ron could not be better host and hostess answering all our questions and making this our home away from home. Absolutely ideal for a couple or a single wanting a secluded restful holiday home we will be back at the end of this year.

A Little Paradise in Nevis

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent a week in Conch Shell Cottage and loved it. It is small but just right for 2 people. It's not luxury but was everything we needed. The locations is great, we were able to go next door to Nisbet for our luxury fix. The best part was all the information from Jane and Ron. A to Z on everything from arrival to where to eat. Nevis is small, uncrowded, and a paradise. The island tour and rent car from Marlon is a must. Also hiking with Lynn was great. These guys know the island. The best part is the people of Nevis. We have been to many Caribbean Islands and the people of Nevis are the best. I for one didn't want to leave.

Great Getaway Spot

  • 5 of 5

It was a great week away and we really were able to relax and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of life in the Northeast. The island was just what we were looking for. All of the support folks Jane lined up (transfers, boat, car rental) ran like clockwork and we used them all for the return trip to St. Kitts.

We will certainly look Jane up if we are planning another trip to the island.

Nisbet Beach area is away from the hustle and bustle of any town and it's always with a happy feeling of homecoming to return to our special spectacular ocean views and refreshing breeze. The trade wind breezes are a special blessing in the Caribbean where they almost constantly blow and have a cooling effect which off sets the average temperature in Nevis which is usually in the low to mid 80's. The trade winds keep the palm fronds rustling and swaying and are a soothing feature, especially on our side of Nevis which is in the perfect location to get the maximum benefit from the trade winds coming from the North East. No need for anything other than quality ceiling fan and a dip in the sea where the temperature stays about 82 degrees.
