Wonderful time

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed this cozy little cabin. The hot tub felt amazing after a nearby hike or wading the stream for trout. Sad to have to check out, but would love to come back in the future. Highly recommend for a romantic escape from busy life!!!

My husband and I Came for our 1 year wedding anniversary.

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is perfect for four ppl. We had a great time here for our one year wedding anniversary too. Having the four wheeler trail too right there was great as well. The town near by was nice to have. Also we did a 17 mile bike ride in Damacuse, VA and that is so worth taking the two hour drive and doing it! Bob was a good caretaker as well. Thanks again for letting us rent with you. We will come again. Also, power went out for like a total of 16-18 hours two different days. That was a little difficult but we managed and Bob brought us an extra bag of ice to help with keeping our fridge stuff cold etc. But we had an amazing time here. Cabin was perfect and the hot tub was a nice thing to have for the evenings !

Cabin nice, Property is not handicapped accessible.

  • 1 of 5

The cabin was very nice and cozy, well equipped with anything you'd need. It was clean with ample space to move about inside. The hot tub was nice. The property manager was very nice and responded quickly to a request. However, the cabin was advertised as being handicapped accessible, for seniors, and the "infirmed", etc and it most definitely was not. Getting into the cabin was impossible for my husband, due his limited mobility. Steps up the hill to the door was just slick rocks with no handrails, gravel, dirt and grass. My husband was not able walk up the hill, and friends had to come get him. My stay only lasted 2 nights. I fell down the slick steps, there was no cell phone service and I was lucky to be able to get up without assistance. So I had to leave the second day. It was the worst vacation I've ever been on. I specifically asked before the reservations were made how accessible was the property and was told "no problem" parking was right at the door to get out and go inside or a large parking area on the other side of the house was handicapped accessible

and this was not so. The property manager agreed that the place was not handicapped accessible and wished that the advertisement did not advertise it as such.

Owner's Response: I am pleased you liked the cabin and location, but am sorry access was so difficult. Bob, the caretaker did remove the handicapped accessible notation from the site while we determine what needs to be done. He indicated that ramps in both locations would be extremely long and may also be slick when wet. One thing that has to be done at the closest entry is to remove the stones that you found were so slick and replace with a course concrete walkway form the entry to the driveway long enough to reach the parking area with poles planted in the concrete to affix a railing for at last portion. It would need to be wider than a standard walkway and long enough to reduce the grade for those pushing a wheelchair Those of us who are not handicapped need to be thankful for our good health and make accommodations for those less fortunate enabling them to enjoy the same things those who are not handicapped enjoy. I have checked the width of the door openings in the large home and need to again check the openings in the small cabin to be absolutely sure a wheel chair can pass. I really appreciate your bringing this to our attention so we can take action to resolve the issue so all have access. Regards, The Owners

Had to leave early due to hurricane Irma headed to Florida

  • 4 of 5

Had to leave 5 days early to insure being able to get home to prepare for hurricane Irma. Could not take the chances of roads going south being closed or rerouted north when we needed to go south.

Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5, three kids and two adults had an amazing time in this cabin! Clean, well laid out, has everything you need! Loved being by the water and the outside surrounding the cabin was great for the kids to explore. Hot tub and huge deck were amazing and where we spent most of our time. Loved it!
