A cozy little cabin with a beautiful view

  • 4 of 5

We had a great honeymoon weekend at this cozy little cabin. We really enjoyed the view although my husband was very bummed we didn't see a deer the whole time!! We enjoyed the hot tub when it was working (we had trouble getting it to stay the right temperature) and the bed was definitely not very comfortable for us (my husband is 6'4" 350 lbs) but otherwise the cabin was extremely cozy and we enjoyed grilling and being on the deck as well as cooking and watching the hokies game.

Serene and peaceful honeymoon!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay. The cabin was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed the area. We took in all that downtown Floyd had to offer, did cider and mead tastings and wine tasting at Chateau Morrisette! We also went horseback riding in the mountains in Radford. We roasted marshmallows over the fire pit, drank wine in the hot tub, and when it got chilly enough we utilized the fireplace. It was the perfect getaway. Our dogs loved a long walk across the nearby bridge/ dam and even saw deer. It was more than we expected and look forward to our next stay. Thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to escape life and make memories!!

The cabin itself was very quaint and very nicely decorated, getting to it hours later than we expected, we were searching in the mountains following our GPS, hoping we were going the right way. It's a bit of a trek off the beaten path, but we enjoyed it. Biggest complaint was our phone number was entered incorrectly so after 8 at night we couldn't get in the cabin and had no cell service ( A T & T) to get Bob's number or my email messages that would have shown me what number to input, so we had to drive to Fancy Gap to get phone service (about 40 minutes away) and back again in the dark after a tiring drive in....Bob said we should have had service at the top of the hill, but 4G did not kick in until Raindrop or Rain something road but still could not dial at all. Having 2 older kids back home and a dog and cat to check on, we spent too much time driving for cell service on our short 2 day trip, but no biggie, I guess.

The cabin is very nice, however when we turned the hot tub speed up, let's just say I think it needs a deep cleaning because we were clean and it was gross. We did however still enjoy our stay at this cabin, despite a few minor hiccups. I have photos of both cabins, once I upload I can send to you. Very beautiful area, even though we missed the most of the fall color by about a week it seems. We did enjoy Mabry Mill also the restaurant and Poor Farmer's Specialty Shop in Meadows of Dan at Hwy 58 at the Junction of the Blue RIdge Parkway.

Very Cozy Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the small cabin in Dugspur, Virginia. It was very cozy and had the essentials needed for a week's stay. The cabin had a quiet setting for you to relax and get away from all the hustle and bustle of every day life. The cabin was clean and well maintained and Bob Chamberlain came by and introduced himself and let us know to contact him if we needed anything during our stay. I would recommend this cabin to a couple or small family. We visited Fancy Gap Pottery, the town of Floyd and Christiansburg, and the Meadows of Dan. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks again for sharing this cabin with us and we would love to come stay again in the future.

Perfect weekend!

  • 5 of 5

It was so nice to get away from Washington, D.C. and stay at this wonderful little cabin! It is definitely away from it all and so peaceful. The cabin was bright and clean and had everything we needed. We used the gas grill to barbecue and ate most of our meals out on the deck. Bob, the property manager, was very helpful and responded to our emails promptly. Look forward to returning sometime in the future!

Absolute relaxation

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was the exact type of location I was looking for. Waayyy out there! So clean. So comfortable. My daughter joined me for 2 nights and was amazed how comfy the pull out bed was. The hot tub was wonderful on the couple of chilly nights. I loved that all I heard for a week was birds and water. So fun walking along and IN the sparkling clean water. Hiking up buffalo mountain. A challenge but worth it. So many butterflies, deer, herons, bunnies. We loved Floyd on Friday nite and checked out meadows of Dan and Mabry Mill and Rocky Knob along the BR Parkway. The people in this area are so refreshingly kind. One thing I'd like to note is the description of this property says Meadows of Dan as its location. It's not. And I'm glad. But it may make a difference to someone. I can't wait to come back!!! The 8 hour drive was well worth it!
