About Tracy Halliwell

John and Tracy have worked and lived all over the world and have always enjoyed interesting places with lots of experiences to offer.

Tracy Halliwell purchased this farmhouse in 2015

Why Tracy Halliwell chose West Somerset

Lowood is an old 1823 farmhouse set in 4.5 acres of well maintained garden and fields, with a river running along the fields. Both of us fell in love with this house straight away. It combines personal comfort with space. Our kids spend hours playing outside on the climbing frame, croquet, badminton, paddling in the river and so on. The wooded area houses a lot of local flora and fauna, providing much for adults and children to explore. The local environs contain everything anyone could wish for, from the most sedentary to the most active. The house itself is on the edge of Roadwater, so although we are on the edge of the village, it feels like we're in the middle of the country, a perfect balance.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The unique benefits of this property are 4 acres of garden/field, access to 200m of the Washford river to paddle in (it's only about 2 feet deep).

Charming, quirky house in a beautiful area.

  • 5 of 5

Our group of three families spending a weekend away together had a wonderful time in this lovely house. There was loads of room for us all, and the house is very well equipped. The beds were amazingly comfortable! The owner was really helpful in the lead up to our arrival, and we would definitely recommend this property. Thank you.

A wonderful Charming country farmhouse

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed there for 4 nights at the end of Sept 2016. We had a wonderful stay. The farmhouse is charming and full of character. There were a few things that need modernising which the owners are doing but this did not impact our stay. It is located perfectly to venture on walks and experience the beauty of exmoor. 40 min drive is Lynton and Lynnouth with the amazing walks up to Valley of the Rocks. We also visited Tarra Steps deep in the heart of Exmoor National Park. A wonderful property with lots of space, lovely fireplace and big bedrooms. 5 stars from all 13 of us that stayed.

What a fabulous house!!

  • 4 of 5

We rented the property for a surprise party for my Mum's 70th birthday, we all loved it! With 15 of us staying, there was plenty of room and we could all be seated around the dining room table!

Don't expect perfection, but do expect charm & character with a wonderful feel, set in a beautiful Somerset village.

Beautiful location, attractive and characteristic property.

  • 4 of 5

Lovely but unusual property which appears to have be added to over the years giving it some quirky aspects. Very comfortable bedrooms and living areas. The Aga is not the easiest to manage but there are other cooking options but not in the main kitchen but we managed ok. Really nice dining area off the main kitchen. Some of the showers in need updating and the property generally showing signs of wear and tear. "The bikes"' are not really usable may be to pop down the shop. The high chair not a proper high chair bring your own. The 2 local pubs are both nice, we only used for afternoon drinks not eating. Overall had a great stay in a beautiful area.

Beautiful cottage

  • 4 of 5

Really lovely and quirky cottage, wonderfully idyllic location. Even a short loss of power was handled brilliantly by the owner. Only reason we didn't go 5 stars was that it was advertised as a four bed and one bed was out of action, but its a minor gripe and certainly didn't spoil our stay. Definitely recommend.
