Tranquil location step away from local attractions

  • 4 of 5

We spent a week in this property - my wife , myself and two dogs. This is very pleasant , cosy and clean accommodation located in charming , rural France. There is a vast , well maintained garden in this property ,where you can seat and relax with a glass of wine. Don't have to mention it was paradise for dogs too- specially our little naughty Frenchy. It is within less than one hour drive from all important attractions of Loire Valley- Tours, Blois, Ambois, Bourges and its most famous Chateaux. Chateau Valencay is 15 minutes away. The roads are well maintained and we enjoyed driving through little French villages surrounded by vineyards. The wine cellars are almost everywhere , and you can taste very good reds and whites ( even better) accompanied by local cheese.

Our hosts Agnes and Clive made our stay very pleasant and always ready to give us precious advice on local attractions , places worth visiting as well as dining options. Following their advice we visited Auberge Saint Fiacre in Veuil- it was awesome three hours culinary journey through incredible French cuisine.

Our overall impression of this place- accommodation , tourist attractions, food, hosts' hospitality and the charm of rural France was so great that we would eagerly come back in future.

What a wonderful stay in a great property

  • 5 of 5

Wow, a warm and friendly greeting from the owners at this lovely and secluded property. I was impressed with the facilities in the gite as we wanted for nothing. The kitchen was well equipped and every room had everything I needed, including mirrors, coat hangers etc. Scenery outstanding and lots of wonderful places to visit nearby. We would return in a heartbeat. Thank you Mr and Mrs Gilbert for making our stay so special and one to remember.

Peaceful location

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our few days at the cottage. The location is away from it all but within easy driving distance of some lovely towns and interesting chateaux. Our dog loved exploring the enclosed garden and we enjoyed sitting in it!

A little Piece of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We miss this place already & will definitely be going back. This really is the ideal getaway, a place too relax, unwind & forget the norm!

Even our 22 year old son who came her on a whim loved it & wants to return.

I can't stress how much we loved it here, reject a booking at your peril.

Idyllic Rural Setting

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect setting for a quiet 'get away from it all'' break. we had a great time and were very comfortable in the cottage. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. There were excellent facilities for cooking at home and a great variety of local restaurants all around a 10-15 drive away. The garden was perfect for those days where we just soaked up the sun and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the village. We would definitely visit again and recommend the cottage to any of our friends who are thinking of visiting the Loire Valley.

Maisonnette très calme dont la cuisine est décorée avec beaucoup de soin. Le jardin est mignon et calme, propice à la détente. Les hôtes sont très accueillants.
