Our second visit to Stanley Barn and I’m sure it won’t be our last!
Excellent location for exploring the Peaks. Friendly host and lovely, quirky, cosy accommodation.
A derbyshire delight
It was a perfect place to stay. The high ceilings and amezzanine bedroom thrilled our elevenyear old son. The log fire was very welcome in October. We will return sometime
Everything was excellent from arrival to departure. The Owner provided us with a welcome provision pack (milk, butter, wine, bread) which was much appreciated. The accommodation lived up to expectations and we would have no hesitation in recommending this property and would stay again if we were ever in the area.
Perfect and charming from start to finish!
It was such a delight staying at the Barn! Chloe and Jean were delightfully attentive and the Barn met every need! We enjoyed lovely breakfast of coffee and toast at home and relaxing wine after a day of exploring! Tideswell was a great town of its own and a wonderful launching spot for exploring the Peak District.
Thanks so much to our marvelous hosts for a lovely stay and all the helpful resources!
Great communication from start to finish too!
Thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay in Tideswell. Stanley Barn offers comfortable and relaxing accomodation, tastefully decorated with all the essentials and more to make a perfect holiday. Many thanks to Chloe and Jean for the much appreciated welcome pack and flexible departure times. We would have no hesitation in recommending Stanley Barn and hope to return very soon.

As well as being home to abundant wildlife, plants and birds, the Peak offers a variety of activities including walking, cycling, climbing, horse riding, sight-seeing, gliding of all types, bird-watching, pot-holing, abseiling and much more.
You can walk from the barn door into the limestone dales around the village, and the many gritstone edges and moors are only 10 to 15 minutes’ drive.
Between May-September the local villages have their well-dressing wakes week festivities. There are processions, craft fairs, torchlight parades, brass bands, Morris dancing and a variety of fun runs and other games.
A 10 minute drive to the old Millers Dale Railway Station will connect you with the Monsal walking and cycling trail where you can hire electric bicycles and explore the entire 8.5 mile length of the trail from Wye Dale near Buxton to Coombs Viaduct at Bakewell, following the beautiful valley of the River Wye through some of the Peak District's most spectacular limestone dales.
