The cottage was built in 2007 and sits in an elevated position next to the 12th century church in the picturesque hamlet of Sainte Innocence ( Fonroque 2km, Sigoules 3.5 km, Eymet 5 km Bergerac Airport 12km ) . The cottage has 1 double bedroom (with en suite WC and walk in shower) and 1 twin room, a family bathroom (with WC, bath and shower) and a large,airy open plan living area and kitchen. Linen and towels can be provided for a small cost. It is perfect for couples or families alike. There is a covered outdoor terrace with stunning views over the surrounding vineyards and sunflower fields, and a further south-facing terrace with barbecue. The decked pool area is shielded by a low hedge offering privacy, and looks out over the rolling Dordogne countryside.The property is situated in a large plot offering ample room for outdoor games of cricket, football etc and to enjoy the local wildlife, but given its central location does not feel isolated. For those wishing to explore the surrounding villages and make the most of the quiet country lanes, there are two adult mountain bikes to use.
There is plenty to enjoy in this area of France beyond the property with weekly markets in many of the villages, wine tasting in the local vineyards and fantastic food in the cafes and restaurants. During July and August there are a number of evening markets with a lively atmosphere The area enjoys a rich history and there are many chateaux within a short drive. Larger towns of St Emilion, Bordeaux, Sarlat and Perigueux are less than an hour and a half away. For a more active holiday, there are numerous places to hire canoes on the Dordogne and some excellent golf courses are nearby.
