Light-filled home in Capitol Hill's vibrant and safe Eastern Market neighborhood -- rated one of America's 10 most livable!
Built in 2003, we have everything you need to enjoy your visit to DC. Ideal for a couple or family, with Aero beds to add sleeping quarters. We take care of the details so you don't feel nickel and dimed -- and can enjoy a hassle-free stay.
Best of all, our central location means no fighting Washington’s traffic snarls, or paying top dollar for parking -- or parking tickets! Nearby: everything you'd want to see in DC:
The US Capitol, Supreme Court and Library of Congress are a 10-minute stroll away.
Head 4 blocks north, through our neighborhood of historic row houses, to get to Metro's direct route to top destinations -- the Smithsonian, the White House, the Washington Convention Center, the new American Indian museum, the FDR and Jefferson Memorials, Ford's Theatre, the International Spy Museum and more are a 10-minute ride away. Or stay on the subway for a bit longer to get to the National Zoo, Arlington National Cemetery, and the Kennedy Center.
To our south are the Washington Nationals' new stadium, the Navy Yard, and US-DOT (the new Transportation Department HQ).
On the way back home, stop at Eastern Market's produce, meat, dairy and flower stalls -- or pop into one of Barracks Row's cafes, bars or restaurants. Several grocery/drug/liquor stores are within walking/driving distance.
Owners are long-time DC residents and neighbors who are happy to answer questions and share tips for visitors.
Please note: we will not book the Inauguration period until after the November election.

We loved staying here - definitely our best VRBO experience ever! Not only was everything clean and in working order, but it was definitely a nice touch to have toilet paper and paper towels provided! This was a great location for taking our 4 kids to DC for the first time. Safe neighborhood and walk to Metro (even after dark), and not too long of a Metro ride to all the touristy things (though the Metro rides were the highlight of the trip for my 2 year old!). This home cost only slightly more than the other option we strongly considered, which was a Hampton Inn that would have been a very long Metro ride to everywhere, would have charged for parking, and would have only had one bathroom, and no washing machine! We loved having 2 bedrooms that fit us and our 4 kids perfectly, and 3 bathrooms was definitely a perk. We ate all breakfasts and dinner at home, and we were able to prepare picnic lunches for most days, which also saved a ton of money, so I think we definitely came out ahead on this one, both in terms of comfort and financially. The only negative, which others have mentioned, its proximity to the Interstate, was not a real problem. We could definitely hear the highway noise, but I thought it was a good part of the kids learning what it's like to live in a big city versus living in a medium-size town (as we do). Also, if we were looking for peace and solitude for this vacation, we would have gone to the mountains or the beach! I would definitely stay here again!
Even better than the pictures! Great location! Deborah was so helpful and we had a wonderful stay in this comfortable victorian townhome. Super location to downtown DC and the eastern market metro. We will certainly stay here again!
Great townhouse in a terrific part of DC-so many restaurants and shops within walking distance. I could stay here again and again. What a gem.
If you love to cook while on vacation, this kitchen has stocked your kitchen tool. Pancakes for breakfast was my favorite, I know it's simple, but the kitchen has fancy stuff too. The dual master bedroom was perfect for those time when you want to get everyone out the door to see the sights quickly. A short 1/2 hike to the train or even shorter drive gets you to the interstate freeway to see the sights in Wash DC. I would love to come back to see the other dozen things that I didn't get to see this trip. I spent so much time in the Air & Space Smithsonian and Arlington, that I was not able to see inside the Supreme Court or do a White House tour. Thankfully the weather allowed a night viewing of Lincoln, Washington, Korean and WW II memorials all in one night. With all that touring around, it was a huge blessing to have such comfortable beds. I slept like a rock!
We enjoyed a couple of neighborhood restaurants, eastern market. We had a tough time with the bus, rail system but we figured out the circulator and became experts with that. Definitely recommend this place.
