About the property

Townhouse - 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s) - 2.5 Baths - (Sleeps 6)

Light-filled home in Capitol Hill's vibrant and safe Eastern Market neighborhood -- rated one of America's 10 most livable!

Built in 2003, we have everything you need to enjoy your visit to DC. Ideal for a couple or family, with Aero beds to add sleeping quarters. We take care of the details so you don't feel nickel and dimed -- and can enjoy a hassle-free stay.

Best of all, our central location means no fighting Washington’s traffic snarls, or paying top dollar for parking -- or parking tickets! Nearby: everything you'd want to see in DC:

The US Capitol, Supreme Court and Library of Congress are a 10-minute stroll away.

Head 4 blocks north, through our neighborhood of historic row houses, to get to Metro's direct route to top destinations -- the Smithsonian, the White House, the Washington Convention Center, the new American Indian museum, the FDR and Jefferson Memorials, Ford's Theatre, the International Spy Museum and more are a 10-minute ride away. Or stay on the subway for a bit longer to get to the National Zoo, Arlington National Cemetery, and the Kennedy Center.

To our south are the Washington Nationals' new stadium, the Navy Yard, and US-DOT (the new Transportation Department HQ).

On the way back home, stop at Eastern Market's produce, meat, dairy and flower stalls -- or pop into one of Barracks Row's cafes, bars or restaurants. Several grocery/drug/liquor stores are within walking/driving distance.

Owners are long-time DC residents and neighbors who are happy to answer questions and share tips for visitors.

Please note: we will not book the Inauguration period until after the November election.

This was a perfect rental for sightseeing in DC. It is a couple short blocks to the Metro, and actually the DC Mall is in a reasonable walking distance too. The living room is full of comfortable furniture, the kitchen has all the items we needed for cooking, and the bedrooms are spacious--each with its own full bath. So much nicer than a hotel.

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) had a great stay. The location was great. We loved having a parking spot since we drove to most sites and had great luck with street parking due to Easter and Patriots day. We took a pleasant 1 mile walk to the Capitol building one day. Plenty of good restaurants in walking distance. We really liked being able to return to a home with some space to stretch out after a long day of sightseeing! Great having a clean house, 2.5 bathrooms, laundry and a kitchen.

5 Nights in April 2017

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this property on April 9th-13th, 2017. The location is perfect for touring D.C. We never used our car once the whole time we were there. The Eastern Market Metro was only 4 blocks away; an easy walk for an 79 year old, 2 parents and an 9 and 11 year old. Safe neighborhood, beautiful houses. Once you are on the Metro and get the hang of it it's the best and only way to get to all the museums and sights D.C. has to offer. You can easily walk to Eastern Market for shopping or drive to the grocery stores. One of the larger grocery stores is within walking distance but there was construction on the road going to one of the grocery stores nearby, so we drove.

The house was beautiful, very clean and had everything we needed, including Metro passes that we just had load money onto. Almost every evening we cooked and the kitchen was well supplied (except for the absence of mixing or large salad bowls, which the owner knows about now and I am sure will resupply). We loved the character of the house and had plenty of room for hanging out. We even enjoyed sitting on the little balcony with a glass of wine in the evenings. In this location you are really close to the freeway. Loud city sounds were a bother to us, so when it was warm we had the windows closed and the AC on. We also brought our white noise makers and slept well. The Master bed is king sized. The mattress is really soft, although too soft for our tastes. I am guessing the bed should be replaced within a year because you can tell where people slept, which made it uncomfortable for my husband and myself. The boys slept in our room on a trundle bed which worked out perfectly. When we arrived all the beds had fresh sheets, although we made up the bottom trundle bed. Everything was easy to find. The Master bedroom was spacious for us and well decorated too. Nice bathroom in both bedrooms. My mother slept in the guest bedroom, which had a queen bed. Her room was also well decorated, clean and spacious for one person. We loved the personal touches in the home that made it feel like it had either been someone's home, or still is...there were DVD movies to watch (we brought our own) and books about discovering D.C. provided. We really enjoyed our stay and would return. We were really happy with everything.

Lovely 2 Bdrm Victorian near Capitol Hill, and PARKING!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about this beautiful Victorian! What a fantastic place to call "home" during our stay! This Victorian is in a great little neighborhood and in the morning you could see everyone walking to the nearby Metro station to get to work. Just a walkable block or two away is a wonderful little coffee shop as well as other little shops and places to eat. This unit has a parking spot (YES!) which is important if you have a car. We kept the car at the unit and used UBER to get to the monuments and museums because there is nowhere to park in the heart of the city, or its very expensive, so UBER was perfect! This unit was VERY clean, and it had everything we needed. The family room had plenty of seating for everyone to relax, and relive our fun day, and it had a fireplace! The kitchen had everything we needed, and more. THREE bathrooms...can't get THAT at a hotel! And the owners were a joy to work with! At one point, there was something I did need and the owner quickly brought it out to the unit and left it on the porch for me. So thoughtful! This unit also has so many books, dvds, a few board games, and plenty of DC guidebooks! We enjoyed staying here very much.
