About the property

Beautiful luxury family villa built to a very high standard in 2009 . Situated on 2/3 rds of an acre of mature landscaped tropical gardens with a 33 feet L-shaped pool & sundeck and scenic coastal views in the private & exclusive Belle Isle development.

OVERVIEW :-

This spacious luxury 4 bedroom villa is ideal for couples, families, and small groups of friends.

It is perfect for holiday-makers who wish to relax in a private detached luxury property in peaceful, quiet and beautiful surroundings, whilst nonetheless having easy access to the whole of the island.

The villa was designed as a family home and benefits from a gentle cooling easterly breeze on the sundecks and patios and the gardens and Gazebos.

This detached villa is situated in an established, safe, and very peaceful

neighbourhood.

It is only a few minutes drive from the uncrowded crescent bay and clean white sandy beach and safe bathing of the award winning La Sagesse Beach.

The villa offers al fresco dining all year round with a large covered south facing patio overlooking the lawn and garden with the ocean as a backdrop, and two Gazebos ----a main larger Gazebo overlooking the pool and sundeck and a spacious octagonal Gazebo in the garden.

Two of the bedrooms also have large south facing balconies ideal for a relaxed breakfast as you watch the garden come to life or for a quiet evening drink as the sun sets over the ocean.

All rooms are very spacious : approx. 3900 sq ft of living accommodation.

Local shops( pharmacy, basic supermarket, police station and post office) are a couple of minutes by car.

The airport is only 30 minutes away and the roads from the villa allow easy access to the rest of Grenada such as the capital St George’s ; the Carenage & Port Louis Marina restaurants and bars; Grenada's white sand beaches including the stunning Grand Anse beach and its restaurants and bars; and famous attractions such as the rainforest; Lake Antoine & Grand Etang.

GARDEN & POOL:-

Magnificent 33 feet long L-shaped swimming pool with patio & decked poolside area, sunloungers & sunshades . The pool and the sundeck enjoy total privacy --- as do many areas of the garden.

Two gazebos ideal for outdoor entertaining, enjoying a cool drink, reading in the shade, dining at night. Power points and Wi-fi in both gazebos. Tables and chairs in both gazebos.

Wood fenced garden with extensive landscaped grounds:- 2/3rds of an acre laid to lawn with many flowering shrubs and trees which attract Hummingbirds and butterflies, and an orchard. ( mango, grapefruit, passion fruit, star fruit, noni, etc..)

You are also likely to see Magnificent Frigate Birds and Pelicans flying overhead or feeding offshore.

PARKING --- The large driveway at the front of the property can accommodate 4 or 5 vehicles.

• Children:- The Villa may not be suitable for children under 5 since the

pool is 5 ft deep and there are steep steps in the garden and leading

to the main Gazebo .

However, the award winning La Sagesse Beach is close by and is

perfect for toddlers and young children as well as adults .

The bay is partially protected by a reef , has a crescent sandy beach

and plenty of shade ,- and the depth of the water shelves very

gradually.

La Sagesse Country Inn & Beach Bar is by the beach and offers cold

drinks & delicious ice-cream as well as snacks and full meals - plus

two washrooms.

John & Paty currently live in the UK but love Grenada and regularly visit the island for holidays and to ensure the villa is being maintained to a high standard.

They lived in Grenada in the villa as their family home from the 1st December 2006 until 30th May 2012 during which time they opened and ran Pelican Boutique and Pebbles Jazz & Blues Club.

Why John & Paty Daniels chose Grenada

Grenada is a gem of a tropical island with all year round sunshine. It is totally unspoilt with pristine uncrowded golden sand beaches, clean clear seas and untouched rainforests.

It is increasingly being recognised as one of the safest holiday destinations.

Grenadians are friendly and welcoming and the road infrastructure is good giving access to the whole island.

The island is large enough not to be crowded but small enough for everywhere to be accessible.The island is 21 miles by 12 miles. Also you will not experience the hoards of tourists found elsewhere in the Caribbean and other sunshine destinations.

We fell in love with the island in 1997 and after many visits and a great deal of research decided to purchase a plot of land in Belle Isle and to build our own villa.

We chose Belle Isle because we felt it is an ideal location in a totally unspoilt area , giving us easy access to the airport, the capital St George's , Grande Anse beach restaurants hotels and bars, and all of the key tourist attractions on the island.

In addition it is very close to a number of beaches; viz :-

The totally untouched Belle Isle Beach a few minutes walk from our villa , and the magnificent La Sagesse Beach , with its restaurant and bar ( and plenty of shade under the Coconut Palms and Almond Trees ).

The bar/restaurant on La Sagesse Beach stocks cold drinks and delicious ice-cream as well as simple fresh food including locally prepared soups, salads, fish caught that morning , steak & veggie burgers, and creole dishes---from breakfast through to dinner.

Belle Isle is a peaceful and tranquil private development and the plots of land are large and well spaced out with covenants that ensure residential use only.

One of the first things you will notice about the villa, pool area, & garden is the complete absence of any background traffic noise. All you will hear from dawn to dusk is birdsong , and at night the Cicadas ---with the sound of the sea quietly in the background.

What makes this villa unique

Our villa was designed by an English architect to offer spacious luxury accommodation and was built for us by an American builder and master carpenter & joiner. ( Dean Schopp ----http://www.finewoodworking.com/profile/GrenadaBarefoot ).

Dean also made all of the custom kitchen & bathroom units .

Being keen swimmers and sunbathers the L-shaped pool is much larger than usual at 33 feet long and both the pool and the surrounding sundeck are totally private and cannot be viewed from outside the property.

All internal floors apart from the tiled kitchen and adjoining laundry room are made from a local hardwood called Greenheart.

The whole property has a tiled patio surrounding it covered by verandahs.

Throughout the property we used the very best materials , importing the Honduran mahogany patio doors ( Living Room & Master Bedroom ) and all of the internal Honduran mahogany doors from America, as well as select Southern Yellow Pine for the ceilings.

Beautiful villa in a peaceful setting

This villa was near perfection! The entire experience, from the point of booking to our departure, was exceptional. The owners are very responsive and provide so much detail about the villa and the island. It was very helpful for us to find places to eat and beaches to check out. The villa had pretty much everything we could want, and the pool provided so much peace and relaxation. It is a very quite setting. We could sit under an umbrella at the pool all day and not hear another person. The grounds are lovely and Althea was great at showing us around.

We enjoyed eating at Bruno's, which was not too terribly far from the villa. The owners, a French chef and German wife were so friendly, and the food was delicious! You do have to make a reservation, but it is worth it!

Bathway beach and Magazine beach were stunning. There is a fun bar at Bathway and a restaurant and bar at Magazine.

The people of Grenada are so friendly and helpful. We needed directions a few times since there is very little signage on the island, and everyone we asked was so willing to help.

We had an exceptional time at the Villa on Grenada. Highly recommend. It's a struggle to come up with anything that we wanted for, but I guess the only suggestion would be beach chairs. We were able to rent them at Magazine beach, so it wasn't too big a deal.

Luxurious, spacious home in paradise

My husband and I enjoyed a week at John and Paty's sprawling villa. Secluded and peaceful, more than 2 people will ever need, but we enjoyed the extravagance. The pictures don't quite capture the attention to detail that must have been taken when this family home was built. Really great open spaces, fully equipped kitchen, great breezes throughout the house and well functioning AC in the master bedroom. We really enjoyed the gazebos and gardens (fresh oranges, grapefruit, bananas and basi). We felt very privileged to stay here and appreciate John and Paty opening their home to us.

Amazing property with everything you would ever need

The house was as fabulous as the photographs suggest. Wonderful location overlooking the sea with a beautiful pool to swim in any time of day.

Everything was spotless and everything worked!

Compared to other properties in Grenada we looked at this was by far the best value for money around and we would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Grenada to book early.

You need to have a hire car and Sanvics were excellent delivering the vehicle to the property.

Grenada is a peaceful safe island and the people are so friendly.

Restaurants we used - Umbrellas, The Aquarium and La Sargesse all set overlooking beaches and sea and incredible.

One thing to be aware of if self catering is the crippling supermarket prices ( thanks Brexiteers!) Cheaper to eat out. Bring your own coffee , tea, snacks, marmite etc as you wont believe the prices.....£15 for a jar of coffee!

Overall a wonderful place to have a vacation.

A fantastic villa in a quiet, picturesque setting

We stayed for two weeks towards the end of August 2016 and spent much of our time at the villa. The pool and garden (with sea view) provided the ideal setting for rest and relaxation, and this proved to be the perfect antidote to the rigours of the normal daily grind in the UK. Simply watching the local wildlife (mainly birds and reptiles but with the occasional appearance of a mongoose) gave us much pleasure due to the novelty, and the appearance of a crab in the swimming pool one morning (presumably dropped by a bird but still alive) was definitely a first. We'd like to think it found its way back to the sea after its rescue.

The villa itself was excellent, with all the amenities we needed. It comfortably caters for eight people and so we rattled around a bit, being only two.... highly decadent nonetheless! The gardeners did not intrude during their weekly visit and Althea was superb, being there to show us around when we arrived, keeping the place clean and tidy, and picking the tropical fruits from the garden.

When we ventured out and about, we found the people to be very friendly and they were helpful with directions when we got lost. Grenada is a beautiful island and so The Villa is definitely on our list for a return visit.

A cared-for home for a wonderful stay

My husband, daughter and I just returned from Grenada and stayed in John and Paty's home- we loved our stay! Beginning with the front door, the first thing that is immediately impressive is the beautiful wood floors and overall woodwork. Just beautiful! The gardens were also beautiful and well-cared for. We were lucky to see our share of hummingbirds, colorful caterpillars and pretty butterflies frolicking about. Althea welcomed us when we arrived at the home and introduced us to a wonderful tray of bananas, limes, mangos and coconuts with chilled coconut water in them. The house was meticulous and the bedrooms were neat and organized. The owners are detail-oriented and care about your comfort in their home- one could not ask for more. The pool was GREAT! We didn't use the gazebos much (perhaps once) because most of our time at home was spent poolside. The kitchen is large and has everything that you could possibly need, which was great for us because we only went out to dinner once during our stay, as our days were spent either exploring the island or lounging at our favorite nearby beach, La Sagesse-- best Pina Coladas ever, by the way! We went to check out BBC Beach and Grand Anse as well, but we kept returning to La Sagesse.

Some suggestions for future visitors:

- Driving in mountainous Grenada is not for the faint of heart (i.e.- ME!), so be prepared to take some time to get used to the roads. By day three, I was more accustomed to it, but it took a couple of days to get used to.

- We rented a car from Sanvics and they met us at the airport. We then followed Bonney to Spice Mall and did our food shopping prior to arriving at the house. This was helpful because it is a long drive if you are not familiar with the roads. We did find a Foodland nearby though, and did shopping there during the week.

- DO remind Bonney that he needs to drive a bit slower than usual if you are following him in your own rental car for the first time :-)

- SPF 50!! Even if you think that you don't burn- you will if you are not careful. We have amazing tans and that was with wearing SPF 50 everyday.

Belle Isle is an exclusive area of owner designed and custom built villas and houses.

The Villa is situated on a quiet and peaceful traffic free private road and offers complete privacy--spacious and comfortable luxury accommodation-- a 33 ft pool and sundeck-- a beautiful garden full of exquisite flowering shrubs and trees which attract a multitude of butterflies and birds---a gentle cooling breeze-- and ocean views. All you will hear from dawn to dusk is birdsong and the sound of the ocean quietly in the background.

The Belle Isle peninsular, and indeed the whole of Grenada, is untouched by the commercialism of many other Caribbean islands, and has retained its charm and natural character.You will enjoy unspoilt natural scenery with lush tropical vegetation and beautiful bays and beaches.

Locally, the small crescent bay of the totally untouched Belle Isle Beach is a short 5 minute walk from the main gate and the award winning La Sagesse Beach and Nature Reserve is only a leisurely 6-7 minute drive away.

La Sagesse Beach is a wonderful crescent shaped sandy bay which gently slopes into the sea and offers safe bathing and swimming.

Sunbeds are available under the shade of the beachside Coconut Palms and the bar/restaurant by the beach serves ice cold beers, delicious ice creams and an all day menu of simple freshly prepared meals. There are also 2 washrooms.

Just past La Sagesse there is a well stocked supermarket and an excellent bakery with a constant supply of straight out of the oven local pastry specialities.

Grenadians are friendly and welcoming and throughout the island you can stop at roadside stalls to purchase freshly harvested fruit and vegetables and, of course, ice cold bottles of the local Carib beer and other cooling refreshments.

Grenada has a great choice of excellent restaurants from fine dining in elegant surroundings to barbecues or Pizza on the beach and from Sushi and Japanese Teppanyaki to burgers or chicken and chips .

The fish in Grenada is truly exceptional and superb freshly caught fish ( Mahe Mahe , Swordfish, Flying Fish, Barracuda ,Tuna and Red Snapper ) and lobster can be found on all menus. Most of the restaurants are worthy of a visit simply for the wonderful ocean or marina views and the laid back ambiance.

Known as the Spice Isle for its nutmeg, Grenada has lovely waterfalls in the island's mountainous interior where cascades of water tumble down rugged cliffs to gush into pristine pools amid the tropical rainforest. Three waterfalls where you can also take a cooling dip are Concord Falls ; Annandale Falls ; and Seven Sisters Falls.

There are several excellent hiking trails close to the villa plus.of course, the rainforest in the Grand Etang National Park the lush vegetation of which provides shelter for a wide variety of birds, opossums, armadillos, mongoose, and the Mona Monkey. There is a local trekking society " Hash" which organises regular outings.

Many of our guests simply enjoy reading and relaxing by the pool or in one of the Gazebos --with the occasional ice cold beer or cocktail to cool themselves but for the more energetic there are many interesting places to visit; viz :-

Lovely old plantation houses with historic museums where you can have lunch.

The nutmeg factory in Gouve with its all wooden machinery.

The fruit and vegetable market in St George's.

Various Art Galleries scattered around the island

Leatherback Turtles laying their eggs on Levera Beach

Snorkelling on deserted Sandy Island.

" Fish Friday" in Gouve --street stalls offering a feast of freshly caught and cooked fish.

The picturesque capital St George's with its interesting market and history and heritage.

Duty free shopping in the Cruise Terminal in St George's.
