About the property

Immaculate barn conversion sleeps 6, pets welcome, hot tub, wood burner & pool

A warm welcome to Church End.

Church End Farm Barn is a converted, handsome, period, red brick detached barn conversion on the edge of the village of Church End in a rural location with access to delightful countryside walks. The stylish and sympathetic barn conversion, took place in 2014 and is located across from the principal house and is set within a private red brick walled garden .

Internally, the property displays the original exposed A- frame beams, and has large glazed panel windows together with traditional arrow slit windows. The three bedrooms have vaulted ceilings, exposed original beams, picture glass panel windows and roof lights. Externally, the barn benefits from an enclosed gravelled courtyard with private gated parking, flat lawns, mature borders and a gated pedestrian side exit out to open countryside which leads down towards the River Avon. To the east the barn is secluded by established woodland.

Church End Farm Barn remains a building of special historical interest. Sporting opportunities in the adjoining village include tennis and five-a-side football, horse riding and there is also a children's play area. The nearby hotel offers a championship standard 18-hole golf course, leisure and recreational facilities, and there is fishing along the River Avon.

Regency Cheltenham, Worcester and Gloucester are only a short drive away. With the Malvern Hills to the west and Bredon Hill to the east, the village sits comfortably between two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and enjoys the wonderful views that they afford.

The picturesque, peaceful village of Church End lies 2.2 miles to the north of the Cotswold town of Tewkesbury. Take a riverside stroll along the River Severn or a boat trip along the River Avon .

Marvel at the 12th-century ceiling in Tewkesbury Abbey, then discover Tewkesbury's famous network of alleyways and the medieval old town where you can explore the 'Vintage and Antiques Trail'. Volunteers from 'Tewkesbury In Bloom' are responsible for the amazing display of flowers which decorate the town during the year. Wander along Tewkesbury High Street and you'll find an eclectic mix of shops, cafes, tea rooms, pubs and bistros and while there, don't forget to try the world famous Tewkesbury Mustard!

Bristol, Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon and Bath are within easy reach for day trips. Major Cotswold events are held close by throughout the year such as the Badminton Horse Trials, the Cheltenham Races, summer concerts at Westonbirt Arboretum ,Tewkesbury's Medieval Festival and the Royal International Air Tattoo at Fairford.

Church End benefits from excellent access to the M5 and M50 motorways. Several superb restaurants can be found in local villages and of course, in Regency Cheltenham. Shop, pubs and restaurant within 1 mile.

The outdoor heater swimming pool free of charge (late May/ June to September only) but only available by special arrangement with the owners. Normally weekdays between 10am and 4pm from June to September, as this will allow for cleaning and maintaining of the pool. Hot tub easily accommodates 5 people and is available and exclusive all year round.

About Simon Park

My wife and I live in the adjacent property, Church End Farm with our two children and three dogs.

Simon Park purchased this barn in 2010

Why Simon Park chose Cotswold

Why choose Church End Barn? We are single property owners, and this cottage is our own little country retreat, and so is furnished and equipped to a high standard with all the comfort and luxuries we enjoy, and hope our guests will too like high speed Wi-fi, SKY TV, coffee machine, brand new sofas and bedding. We also provide a welcome pack for all our guests (with milk, bread, butter and wine).

The barn was converted by us in 2015 and is a locally listed building of special historic interest. It has exposed boards and Oak beams, and a wood burning stove. It has 3 bedrooms and a hot tub within an enclosed walled garden.

From 1st June to end first week in September access is provided, by request, to a 40 foot heated private swimming pool in the adjacent property. Access is normally between 10am and 3pm and is not included in the rental price but when available is free.

It is only a short distance from two areas of outstanding natural beauty (Cotswolds and Malvern Hills) and within a easy commute to Cheltenham, Worcester, Bristol and Birmingham.

Church End is situated between the rivers Avon and Severn and benefits from local walks along both river.

The outdoor heated swimming pool only available by special arrangement with the owners. Normally June - early Sept. weekdays between 10am and 4pm.

What makes this barn unique

Child and dog friendly, 5 (max) person hot tub, Wood burning stove, Sky TV (inc Movies), X Box 360, Newly converted in 2015, Sleeps 6.

Summer outdoor heated swimming pool access, Available June to mid September, 10am to 4pm to allow for cleaning etc.

Beautiful barn conversion in small village

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful small village in Gloucestershire, UK. Short drive to many attractions, west Cotswolds. Well cared for property, Simon is attentive to your needs but not intrusive.

Our Break in Barn

  • 3 of 5

The property was a fantastic place to stay really lovely, the only downside was that there was only one toilet and that was down stairs. I would not book in again for that reason alone and only that reason!

Churchend Barn, Churchend

What a gorgeous place to stay. The host Simon greeted us and was very kindly taking our shopping order in for us.

The place was lovely and enjoyed using the hot tub.

A very nice touch to be greeted with lovely flowers and the girls enjoyed the champagne.

Will definitely come back again. A good time was had by all.

Incredibly helpful owners

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful barn which was kitted out with all necessary amenities. The addition of providing tea, coffee, bread, milk, snacks and bubbly was a really nice touch! Beds were clean and comfortable and the hot tub was a great place to wind down after a country walk. Owners were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. They were happy to be contacted at any point during our stay and very kindly posted on some things we had left behind.

A fabulous holiday home with every luxury attention to detail from the minute we arrived.

  • 5 of 5

As a family of four adults with a 5 month old we couldn't have asked for a better half term break. From the minute we booked until the day of departure we were looked after by Simon and Zunneta. Every attention was paid to detail from the magnificent welcome pack, including champagne to a beautiful vase of roses. We felt very much at home and valued.

The Barn was spotlessly clean as were the linen and towels provided. Even new shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were provided!

The Barn was stocked with lots of local information and places to visit, including local pubs and take-a-ways,

Due the unseasonal balmy weather we were able to make use of the hot tub on several occasions (which was very easy to use). There is a manual in the Barn which explains the how to use many of the appliances provided.

We had a wonderful week in a wonderful Barn with wonderful hosts! I cannot recommend this property enough and we will certainly be booking again.

Lovely property and location, fantastic owners

  • 5 of 5

The property is nicely located for trips in the Cotswolds and has easy (by car) access to shops, pubs, etc. We ended up driving 30-40 minutes most days for nice Cotswold walks. The owners are fantastic, they provide so many bits for their guests, on top of the property, hot tub and access to the pool. We were there on our mini moon and the owners had left a card, flowers, champagne and balloons for us, which was a lovely touch. The owners were very good at answering all our questions prior to booking and all answers were very honest (as revealed once we'd got there).

It houses a fine collection of medieval tombs and monuments, as well as many stained glass windows including the 14th century choir windows and stunning modern glass.

Tewkesbury has a variety of wonderful countryside walks and riverside paths for you to enjoy. Walking packs and guided walk leaflets are available from the Tourist Information Centre.

The Severn Ham - Nature Walk & History Walk

The Severn Ham is an ancient water meadow reached via a small footbridge from the centre of Tewkesbury. "Ham" is a old saxon word which meant bend in a river, flood plain or water meadow. The Severn Ham is one of the finest example of the few remaining hams in the UK. Full of wild flowers, birds and insects its a lovely place to take a gentle stroll and enjoy the stunning views across to Tewkesbury Abbey and the Malvern Hills.

The River Severn and River Avon have played a significant part in Tewkesbury's history and two leaflets are available from the Tewkesbury Tourist Information Centre to provide a "guided tour" around the Severn Ham with insights into the social and economic history of Tewkesbury and the wildlife of the Severn Ham.

Sections of long distance footpath routes also run in and around Tewkesbury:

The Gloucestershire Way - stretches 100 miles from Chepstow to Tewkesbury taking in the heart of the north Cotswolds including Winchcombe.

The Severn Way – 210 mile route follows the route of the River Severn from source to sea.

The Cotswold Way National Trail - passes nearby through Winchcombe and the picturesque villages of Hailes, Stanton and Buck
