We spent five nights here. The apartment is huge and beautifully decorated. Everything we could want was there, including many thoughtful extras like coffee, tea, olive oil and snacks. There's a supermarket just around the corner, and a taxi stand and bus stop within a block. Line A Lepanto metro station is about 6 blocks away. Both the historical district and Vatican are in easy walking distance. The airport shuttle SIT bus stop is just around the block, and the lovely owner met us there. Bed is very comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. There's a dishwasher and even a combination washer/dryer. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return.
We had a communication problem in that we had a very late train. Luisa had waited in the apartment for our arrival, but was unable to stay due to how late we arrived in Rome. She made an arrangement for her agent to meet us and help us get our belongings to the apartment. After that, everything was wonderful.
The apartment matches the picture and was everything promised. The kitchen had everything you needed and more. The washer/dryer worked well and had more features than we could comprehend. The high ceilings, walk in dressing room, bathroom, and comfortable bed were all that we wished for. This spotless apartment represented the best of Rome, with beautiful furniture and amenities. The elevator made it ever so easy to get our luggage to the apartment, and saved us from walking up and down 5 flights of stairs.
We were able to walk to all of the sights on our must-see-list. The fabulous weather was a great surprise, and allowed us to walk for miles. The restaurants that were recommended were excellent, and we were went to several of them more than once.
We were surprised by an earthquake during our stay. We felt very safe as the walls were very thick. The shaking disturbed some of the paintings, but no damage was done. It was a first for us, and it certainly gave us something to talk about when we arrived home.
This was not our first time in Rome, and the last time we visited the Vatican was undergoing a major renovation. Much of the artwork was under cover, and the Sistine Chapel was filled with scaffolding. We knew that we wanted to make up for what we missed the first time around and purchased tickets before we left the US. We went early in the morning and arrived just as the Museum opened. It was a zoo. The Museum requires a 4 mile walk to see everything, and the crowds were huge. We recommend going late in the day to avoid the tours. The paintings, tapestries, sculptures, and Vatican treasures were breath taking, and my only regret was that it was difficult to see everything through the crowds.
In summary, this aprtment luxurious and wonderful treat and we have recommended it to our friends traveling to Rome. It made for a perfect end to our tour in Europe and exceeded our expectations.
My husband and I recently spent 5 nights at casa Cassiodoro, and it would be easy to be comfortable here for an extended stay. The rooms are large and comfortable, and Luisa was friendly and very attentive to our needs. We have stayed in many cities in the US and abroad, and would rate this as our apartment out of all of them.
The neighborhood wasn't crowded with tourists, yet it was easy to get around. We walked everywhere. There were good restaurants close by, and an excellent gelateria.
Beautiful, stylish and huge apartment. Great closet! Everything you need. Close to all the sites but in a safe neighborhood where Romans actually live. We would not hesitate to rent from Luisa again.
This flat was a comfortble home away from home. Very clean, nice linens, beautiful furnishings & most important, a comfortable lg. bed. Very secure & quiet. Close to good Dining & fresh food for cooking in. Luisa is a most gracious hostess. We will be back again.
Situated in a quiet high neighborhood, this rental is a few minutes walk from castel d'angelo. Spacious and air-conditioned, it was a very comfortable and very well appointed. The Bakery and necessity shopping nearby. The average taxi fare was 8 euro from Vatican, Spanish steps and other sites and neighborhoods of interest. Conviently located to the airport bus to/from Fumicino.
