About Damon Frank

I grew up in Northern California skiing the slopes of Lake Tahoe, while my wife grew up in Southern California and enjoyed the beach scene. We now have 2 young kids and we love spending time together and creating memorable lifelong experiences in Mammoth, whether we are skiing in the winter or enjoying all the summer mountain activities. I use Mammoth Mountain as my primary training venue for FreeSkiing World Tour events that I compete in during the winters. We are very happy to offer our Mammoth home to you, your family and friends in hopes that you enjoy Mammoth as we do and create your own memorable lifelong experiences.

As an avid competion FreeSkier, my dream has always been to own a moutain condo at a world class ski resort. After meeting my wife and settling in Southern California, we were naturally drawn to Mammoth for skiing. Soon we began to visit Mammoth in the summertime and we instantly recognized how much Mammoth has to offer all year round!!! As our family started to grow, I wanted to make an investment in a place where my family could enjoy quality time together for the years to come during all 4 seasons. Mammoth was that place!!!!

There were a couple of issues that weren't resolved.

Overall the property was nice and able to accommodate our party of 10. The issues we had that weren't resolved were, we weren't able to recieve TV channels on the upstairs TV due to a missing power cord so everyone had to share the downstairs TV and the pellet stove stopped operating on the 3rd day which caused us to leave a day early. There were portable electric space heaters which we plugged in and used but didn't feel they were that safe especially with our grandkids. i feel both of these issues could of been easily resolved if there was someone on sight or nearby that could have helped.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback Rudy. With all rental properties, especially in the mountains, there are going to issues that need to be resolved. Working quickly and effectively with my renters is what I always strive for. After letting me know about the TV Power Cord, I sent my property manager over and he quickly located the power cord which had been mixed up by a previous renter with the PlayStation game console. Because of this mix up, I decided to remove the PlayStation console from the upstairs living room and eliminate all future cord mix ups. In regards to the Pellet Stove, my property manager came over when you let me know it was ok for him to come over, resolved the issue and restarted the stove. It has been running perfectly fine ever since. In our communications you indicated you and you family were FINE with the electric heaters. This news that you now share via a review that you left a day early because of pellet stove is a shocking, considering our open communication throughout your stay. Next time for any rental you stay at, I ask that you be very upfront and open with whatever you need. All Homeowners will do what it takes to make things right and make arrangements for repairs in the mountains. My property management, house cleaning staff and I are always on standby to accommodate our guests.

Great place to stay with your family!

This was the second year that our family (5 adults, 5 kids) stayed at this nicely decorated Mammoth condo and it felt like we were coming back to our mountain home! Last year we had warm weather & kept the windows open. This year we had snow two nights and kept the pellet stove on to stay warm! The condo has cozy bedding, lots of towels, cleaning supplies and the cabinets are filled with all of the dishes, glasses, mugs, pots and pans, and silverware that you need. The big porch has plenty of room for our bikes and float tubes, too. We enjoyed the condo community spa after being out in the cold weather. The wifi works great as does the downstairs big screen TV. There's plenty of parking near the condo. We love that the condo has a path directly to the local park and little creek as well as centrally located to shopping, bike trails and Old Mammoth Road, which leads to our favorite lakes for fishing. Our 4 year grandson caught the biggest fish - a 4 pounder in Lake Mamie! It was sad to leave but we plan to be back next year!

Perfect location for a perfect get-a-way

This unit is in a fantastic location! Views of Mammoth Creek Park and the Sherwin Range add to the spacious, comfy feeling. Perfect for families and/or a nice group of friends. The photos don't show the new furnishings and the large, comfortable sectional where you can relax after dinner every night. Close to shopping (Minaret Village) and lots of Mammoth restaurants, nice Jacuzzi close by for those post-hike/post-ski soaks, pool, on-site laundry if you need it. The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking your own breakfast or dinner. This condo is located in a quiet area and is an ideal choice for a get-a-way.

I traveled to Mammoth for a Dad and the boys trip with some friends and their sons. The condo is in the perfect location, close to everything you need. As for the condo itself, it was clean and well maintained just like the pictures portray. The beds are very comfortable all with memory foam toppers, down style comforters and plenty of pillows. The kitchen has everything you need as well to prepare a variety of meals. Damon is responsive and extremely helpful in making sure our stay went well. We will be renting this place again for sure.

Condo was nice but not great for kids

We have been vacationing every summer in Mammoth for almost 10 years and have stayed in lots of different condos.

Some positives: This condo was comfortable and updated. It was close to the park, creek, and downtown Mammoth. The bunk beds were great. The living room had lots of space. The blue tooth speaker for music was really nice. There was a good supply of cleaning supplies, garbage bags, etc.

However, we will not be choosing this one again for the following reasons:

1. The railing on the porch was very unsafe for kids. If I had known about this I would not have booked this condo because I was worried about my 2 year old falling through.

2. The dining table is literally in the kitchen. If people are sitting at the table you can't even open the dishwasher. It was super cramped.

3. Some of the sheets on the beds were kind of weird. On some beds there was not a fitted sheet, just a flat sheet folded under the memory foam topper that kept coming untucked.

4. There is no bath tub, also something that would have been nice for kids.

5. The BBQ grill is a shared grill at the pool. We would have preferred a BBQ at the condo.

6. There is no washer and dryer.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the detailed feedback, both positive and negative. We always strive to improve and the best feedback comes from renters. Let me address the points of feedback: 1. Porch Railing - According to the HOA, the porch railing is up to code. However, I had installed wire mesh fencing around the front and rear balconies ~9 years ago, as I had the same concerns with my young kids. This past spring, the HOA removed the wire mesh fencing to repaint the complex. Based on your feedback, I will immediately put the fencing back up. I am headed up to the Condo on 8/12/2017 and will have it installed. According to the HOA, the railing is up to code, but let's make it more safe! 2. Dining Table - Per the pictures on the web listing, the dining table is positioned within the kitchen. We have provided 4 dining chairs and a movable bench to accommodate guests for eating. Given the constraints of the kitchen/dining area, the table, chair and bench are intended to be moved around depending on the number of people, etc. 3. Fitted Bed Sheets - I spoke to my house cleaning company and they assured me this will not happen again. There was a power outage in Mammoth the afternoon of 7/22 and the washing/drying machines were down. This happened to be the day the house cleaning was performed and when you were checking into the condo. The house cleaners were forced to use backup supplies instead of their normal sheets. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences. 4. Correct, there is no bathtub. When we remodeled the bathrooms, we opted for 2 large standing showers as the majority of our guests provided feedback for large showers. Again, per the pictures on the web listing, there is no bathtub 5. No BBQ on the Balcony: Per Mammoth City Code (ordinance 2010-01 -Mammoth Lakes Fire Protection District), BBQ's are not allowed on condo complex balconies due to high fire hazards. In 2010, all condo complexes were ordered to follow the code which are governed by the Mammoth Fire Department. Therefore, we had to remove our balcony gas BBQ permanently. The condo complex provides 3 shared gas BBQ grills next to the pool area. 6. Correct, there is no washer and dryer in the Condo, however the condo complex provides coin operated washer (3) and dryer (3) machines, which are conveniently located just 30 steps from our condo.

(This is a great asset especially when you have to deal with large groups and kids). In addition, you won't feel like you are staying in a typical Mammoth condo with the location, proximity to the nature park and views this condo provides (as they say, Location, Location, Location).
