About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Just a swift walk away from Puerta de Atocha – the major railway portal that connects the capital with the rest of the country – this third-floor, two-bedroom apartment offers almost unrivalled access to the best that Madrid has to offer, with the bonus of easy connection to riches beyond its border almost on demand. Doctor Velasco I takes up a privileged position within Madrid's holy triangle of art, with the national art museum – the Reina Sofia – within five minutes' walk, and the National Anthropology Museum within even closer reach. Two of the city's other famous museums – the Thyssen and the Prado – are both also within a reasonable distance and, while the Puerta de Atocha offers high-speed transit to other Spanish cities, neighbouring Atocha metro station will allow you to explore the capital from top to bottom in a flash – as will the numerous buses and taxis in the area. Doctor Velasco I would make a cosy roost for two people, despite boasting ample space for up to four. Refined and classic in its decoration, key highlights of the space include its open-plan living/dining area, which not only basks in an abundance of natural light pouring in through the large glass doors, but also offers access to snug, sheltered terrace complete with outdoor furniture. Cosy, intimate mealtimes are made more than possible by a dining table for four, and by the kitchen, whose simplicity is balanced by its utility; it comes fully provisioned with all the necessary utilities and appliances. For its fortunate inhabitants, the home's master bedroom also boasts access to the terrace, as well as plenty of built-in wardrobe storage and direct access to its own en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. And while it doesn't have direct terrace access, the second bedroom is just as inviting, featuring twin single beds that can be separated or joined as required, and access to a modern, en-suite bathroom with a minimalistic yet homely design. This is a fantastic option for a small family who wish to take full advantage of an incredible location and a wonderful home to make the most out of their stint in Madrid.

Due to our constant efforts on mantaining our high standards, some pieces of furniture or decoration may be different from the ones shown in the photo gallery.

Surface Area: 75m2 + 5m2 terrace. Third floor. Entrance leads into a large corridor that grants entrance into the living / dinning area as well as to the kitchen. The living room is furnished with a 3-seater sofa, a wooden coffee table, an elegant armchair, a white cabinet and a wall-mounted flat screen TV and DVD. The dining area has a white comfortable table and seating for 4 people. The kitchen is equipped with refrigerator, dishwasher, washer/dryer, 3-ring ceramic hob, and an oven/microwave. The master bedroom has a queen size bed (1.50m x 1.90m), 2 bedside tables with lamps and ample built-in wardrobes in the room. The bathroom is en-suite and has an ample walk-in shower. The second bedroom has two single beds (0.90m x 2.00m), two nightstand tables with lamps and built-in wardrobes. The second bathroom has a walk-in shower. There is wooden flooring throughout the apartment except for the bathrooms and the kitchen, which are tiled.

Even better than advertised!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Great location; very close to Atocha for day trips, a few steps from the Metro to anywhere in the city, and within walking distance of the Prado, the Thyssen and the Reina Sofia. The apt. was quiet, everything worked. Coffee machine needed special pods which we purchased and left at the apartment. Fortunately we brought our own coffee filters and a "cone," as this method of brewing was preferable to our palate. Customer service and initial

briefing were detailed with great suggestions for dining and sightseeing. All in all a perfect stay!

lovely, quiet apartment

  • 5 of 5

I would second the positive comments in the other reviews. The apartment is surprisingly quiet given that it is less than a block from the main train station/metro. Although it is two bedrooms, it works very well for a couple, since the bedrooms are not large and the second bedroom makes a good place for luggage, etc. Would certainly recommend to friends traveling to Madrid.

Outstanding property!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was a real treat. My family stayed in 3 VRBO apartments during our vacation in Spain, and this was by far the nicest, and it is a good value. The apartment is in a near-perfect location, about a 200 meter walk from the primary Madrid train station. Most tourist destinations we visited were walking distance from this apartment. The apartment appears to have been recently renovated/remodeled, with very nice furnishings, appliances, and professional decor. The beds are very comfortable. The air conditioning kept the entire apartment quite comfortable. The tap water was easily drinkable with no odd taste whatsoever; I could tell no difference from bottled water. The agent who met us at the apartment was on time and very friendly and professional. He went through all of the apartment features with us in detail. I cannot say enough good things about this apartment. The only negative is that it is so nice, you may not want to go out much to enjoy the sights of Madrid! Staying here was the highlight of our vacation.

Lovely Flat Centrally Located

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. I was a bit leery about booking a property overseas coming from the states, but would not hesitate to book an apartment with Spain Select in the future. Their representative, Javier, was waiting for us at the apartment when we arrived. He kindly showed us around the apartment and gave us sightseeing suggestions. Wifi works well. The apartment is beautifully decorated and everything is in working order.

Deluxe Apartment

  • 5 of 5

Orientation with Javier about the apartment was very professional and informative. Lovely apartment that was modern, secure, and centrally-located. Apartment was well stocked, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. I would highly recommend to visitors for short stays in Madrid as it is walking distance to the train station, stores, and the most awesome park (not to be overlooked).

Modern, clean and well laid apartment.

  • 5 of 5

We loved this apartment, it was clean, modern, looked like it had just been renovated and was like a home away from home. The owner had a good eye for d

etail, extra bath towels and plenty of wine glasses, and kitchen items was a bonus. Position was great, just near Atocha station close enough to get around to the attractions, and a short walk to bus stop. Would stay there again and would definitely recommend it to any one. Impressed with the property and with Spain Select.
