I recently left the military after 14 years and took a job in the Middle East. Living there has its pros & cons, but ultimately me and my wife needed a place outside of the country where we could relax and spend quality time together. After much searching into various other countries, we came across this cottage, and after the third visit decided to purchase it. There's few properties such as this one that offer a mountain point vantage overlooking the Mediterranean set within a traditional Ottoman village. This advantage as well as the culture, and friendliness of the local people were the deciding factors for us.
The main benefit that I get out of staying here is that I feel recharged when it is all over. There's no stress, everyone is kind, the food is as organic as it gets since it is all made centrally in the village, and the only sounds you hear at night is water cascading down the mountain sides. This village is genuine, and peaceful. If one wanted to enjoy something a little more upbeat though then Kalkan is a 15 minute ride down the hill.
My partner and I stayed for a week in August and really enjoyed our stay. It has such great views, a nice pool, and a small garden with seating area for meals.
The cottage itself is a wood cabin seemingly modeled off of traditional Ottoman design and has a rustic appearance which we really enjoyed.
Overall, I've given it five stars for being a great vacation property along with an attentive owner that took care of our every request.
