Located in Anghiari, a small medieval village in the heart of Tuscany close to Arezzo, with its colors, history and culture this villa was once a monastery of Camaldolese Monks and within a beautiful park surrounded by fragrant flowers in every season.
What is most surprising are the many outdoor spaces surrounding the villa, each with something special to offer. Every corner is a gem where guests can relax in the sun or in the shade of trees and walk in complete silence broken only by the chirping of birds and the gentle sounds of nature. Chairs, tables and hammocks are placed everywhere to give the possibility to savour every glimpse of nature and explosion of colours.
The property consists of three units; the main house, an old chapel and a separate annex all surrounded by a garden of one hectare and 5 acres of woodland. In addition there is the covered veranda with sofas near the square and the outdoor veranda full of roses with direct access to the kitchen and the geranium terrace on the second floor of the main villa from where you can admire beautiful sunsets or glittering starry skies.
The Main House:
The main house is set over three floors; you can access the property from two sides; the kitchen and the reception. Divided by a stone and original arch you will find the spacious living room with fireplace, sofas, tables, chairs. The living room, as throughout the rest of the house you will understand how great was the owner’s effort to preserve the flavor of the past. The owner respected in every corner of the originality of a time trying to create comfortable and functional areas. Large exposed beams, stone niches, terracotta tiles handmade, wrought iron, Persian rugs, fine furniture and antiques and handicrafts, antique fabrics are all part of the furniture of every room and every living room. TV with satellite systems, DVD player and wireless internet access are available for your entertainment.
Crossing a small sitting area with armchairs, you will find the kitchen where you can also access the outside areas. The kitchen featuring 6 burners, a large oven, two large refrigerators, tables for food preparation, two sinks and a dishwasher. In addition to this a table is available for breakfast and a working fireplace.
A shower room and a laundry room with washing machine and dryer can be found adjacent to the kitchen via the outside area.
From the reading room of the ground floor and the kitchen, via an internal staircase in terracotta, you reach the first floor where you will find the bedrooms of the main house comprising of the following suites:
Suite Loggia – double bedroom with en suite bathroom with corner bathtub. This suite for 2 offers stunning views of the valley and roses.
Suite Voliera- double bedroom with en suite shower room. This suite for 2 offers access to a terrace.
Suite Vocabolo - a spacious double bedroom with en suite bathroom. A sitting area is separated by a curtain. This suite also offers direct access to the terrace through French windows.
This floor is connected to the garden area via an external staircase which gives direct access to the bedrooms.
Moving up to the top floor via a wooden staircase you will find the final suite for the main villa:
Suite Torre – double bedroom with en suite bathroom. Separated by a door the living room offers a fireplace.
On the same floor you will find a library inserted within a gallery; this is the oldest part of the house and is said to be a watchtower Lombard.
The annexe is located 30m from the main house. The French doors lead you directly into the master bedroom where you will immediately notice the exposed wooden beams, columns and tiles. There are 2 bathrooms available in the annexe. A kitchenette is ideally located within a classic wardrobe and offers everything you would need for cooking. The French doors lead out onto the furnished terrace where you can sit and relax.
The chapel was once a small church transformed over the years into a former squeegee where it was left to dry tobacco, the owner created after a long and arduous restoration, two delightful suites; on the ground floor you will find Suite Fonte where there is a double bedroom with en suite shower room. From this floor, terracotta stairs lead up to the upper floor where you will find Suite Pieve; a master bedroom with en suite bathroom. The room has a closet in which there is a small kitchen with refrigerator. The two rooms are completely separate despite being one above the other.
All bedrooms available are spacious and bright with large windows with screens, furnished with care and attention to detail. A TV with satellite system, telephone and mini bar are found in each suite.
In all rooms you will find air conditioning or fan and for the winter every room is equipped with central heating.
Located within 50m of the villa and via a staircase created from train sleepers to the sunniest part of the property in a lush garden, you will find the private 12m x 6m swimming pool surrounded by plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for your relaxation under the Tuscan sun.
From this side of the property you can admire the pale colours of dawn and the deep green of the countryside. A small wooden house among the olive trees is furnished with rugs and pillows for guests to enjoy a moment of relaxation. A further covered area welcomes you with its comfortable sofas, an ideal area for relaxing and maybe enjoying a book. The roof is made of natural materials, original tiles and wooden beams. You will also find here magazines, games, and a refrigerator with a freezer where you can keep your drinks or ice cream. This area is priceless and a real discovery walk in the park, sitting under the shade of lime trees, poplars, oaks and olive trees.
For the younger members of the group there is the joy of having an opportunity to see small squirrels, hares, birds of prey, deer, pheasants, and owls in the woods and also to be amazed at the spectacle of one of the oldest cypress trees of the valley. This tree embodies something spiritual so that many people are wrapped by the feeling of magic decide to express the shadow of the majestic tree a wish or a prayer with the hope to bring luck.
An area of fun for the younger members is the play area, the avenue that leads to the ancient well, where a ping pong, hammocks, rackets and balls will cheer the afternoon hours.
Returning to the main house, you cannot help but notice the veranda in front of the kitchen, nestled in the corner of roses and “limonaia” small stone structure finely restored. This is the ideal place for breakfast or dinner on the barbecue or for tasting the local products such as cold cuts, cheese, olive oil and wine.
All outdoor areas of the property have outdoor lighting night divided into zones.
At the entrance of the villa there is plenty of parking protected by an entrance with automatic gates.

The villa is close to the town of Anghiari either by foot or within a 5 minute drive. Within 500m of the villa and located in the village of Tavernelle di Anghiari you will find the basic necessities and some restaurants.
Anghiari is a small gem known throughout the world for its art and culture, to the antique shops and local crafts and for its history of a small medieval town. Designed by the flow of the river Arno and Tevere it is dotted with churches and castles developed in an area rich in monasteries and archaeological sites. From the peak of the village you can view the whole valley. The narrow streets and squares are home to masterpieces of painting and sculpture so that in recent years has received important recognition from the Italian Touring Cub who declared it one of the most beautiful villages and characteristic of Italy. Famous artists have lived in these places just think of Michelangelo Buonarroti, Piero della Francesca, Luca Pacioli and Leonardo da Vinci paint the famous “Battle of Anghiari”.
The narrow streets, the views of the valley are a precious discovery for everyone even for locals. The food, the art, the history, the culture can be felt everywhere, in the farmer's market on Wednesday or Tuesday and Saturday to Sansepolcro, during the many festivals held throughout the year, and especially in the summer festivals during his music festival.
The villa for its location and its links is often used as a basis or starting point for visiting the most popular places in Tuscany such as Florence, Siena, Assisi, Perugia, which are less than 100 miles from the villa, in a few hours instead you can reach Lucca and Pisa. The lesser known villages are located closer to the villa; Sansepolcro, Cortona very famous for the book and movie "Under the Tuscan Sun" by Frances Mayes, Citerna, Monterchi, not to be forgotten is the beautiful hermitage of La Verna where Francis of Assisi received the stigmata and Arezzo famous in all the world for the film "Life is Beautiful" by Roberto Benigni where every first weekend of the month is held one of the most famous antiques fairs in Italy.
Being on the border with Umbria is worth a walk in Città di Castello, Gubbio and Lake Trasimeno up to Spello or Deruta is known worldwide for its famous handmade pottery instead.
The Adriatic coast with its famous beaches and nightlife hectic of Rimini and Riccione, and several amusement parks and outlets are located approximately 120km from the villa. The part of the Tyrrhenian and the Argentario area with crystal clear beaches are approximately 150km from the villa. Elba and Giglio Island can be reached within a couple of hours and a 30 minute ferry.
