Holland Park is one of the most prestigious residential areas in London. Several countries have their embassies there. Holland Park itself is a very special place to go with bbeautiful tree lined walks, garden areas with peacocks, rabbits and ducks, tennis courts as well as an outdoor theatre in the summer. The Orangery restaurant and a teahouse is in the centre of the park, and there is a wonderful adventure playground for kids. Plenty to explore!
We just spent a week in London and very much enjoyed staying in this home. It is spacious, bright, updated, and wonderfully decorated...and the beds are very comfortable. Also, you can't beat the location! Just a few minutes walk to cafes, bakeries, supermarket, drug store, bookstore, and the Holland Park tube station means everything is convenient, making your stay very easy. Also very close are Notting Hill (local flavor), Chiswick (wonderful restaurants) and the biggest mall in the UK (also probably the nicest!). So no matter what you enjoy, this home is a great base location for all your adventures. The staff at Elizabeth Lytton is also very helpful and attentive, so you feel like you have someone to call if anything is needed. I highly recommend this home.

The home is only two minutes walk from Holland Park tube station which is on the same line as Oxford street and you can be in the famous Selfridges Department store within 20 minutes door to door.

Apart from Portobello market within 10 minutes walk you’ll reach Westfield, one of the largest shopping malls in Europe, with every shop from Prada and Louis Vuitton to Kath Kidson and Desigual, as well as a cinema, restaurants and coffee bars with tastes from all parts of the globe. A very useful place to have on your doorstep.
Places to visit nearby
Apart from all the usual central London places to go you’ll find in your guidebook, there are many beautiful places to visit nearby. Leighton house built between 1864 and 1879 on the edge of Holland Park, the home of classical artist Lord Leighton also became home to his extensive collection of Victorian paintings, including works by his contemporaries John Everett Millais, Edward Burne-Jones and George Frederick Watts. It is one of the most opulent museums in London, and its small scale makes it easy enough to explore thoroughly in an afternoon. Located on the edge of Holland Park, this opulent 19th-century home of Lord Leighton is decorated with domed ceilings, fountains, and plenty of marble. Golden mosaics, gilded walls, elaborate paintwork, domed ceilings, trickling fountains, cool marble and peacock blue tiles make Leighton House worth a visit.
The Electric Diner, 191 Portobello Road. Serving a mix of American and French food. The diner sits below the Electric House, a private members club, and next door to the Electric Cinema, meaning that once you’ve finished your cocktail and burger, you can head over to catch the latest film release. You can even get 50% off your food bill at certain times if you have a valid cinema ticket.
Julie's Restaurant & Champagne Bar, 135 Portland Road. Made up of several glamorous rooms and elegant furnishings. Julie's Wine bar provides an excellent atmosphere for a night out, with small alcoves and eating areas for you to enjoy.
The Shed, 122 Palace Gardens Terrace. The Shed is a real family affair. Run by two brothers, they use ingredients foraged and produced by their younger brother who runs his own farm in West Sussex. There is a focus on using the whole animal (nose to tail cooking) so that nothing is wasted. If you’re looking to try modern British food matched with British wine, then The Shed is definitely worth a visit.
Mazi, 12-14 Hillgate Street. Mazi is Greek for ‘together’, and is possibly the most experimental of all the places on this list. Their ethos is simple: to offer traditional Greek classics with a modern twist. Take for example, the spinach moussaka or the rabbit stifado (stew) with pearl onion cream. Both are very recognisably Greek, but presented in an interesting and unusual way. They also have a great range of excellent, and in my opinion criminally underrated, Greek wines.
