When you vacation at Steps Away at Stowe Mountain Lodge, just worry about getting here and our team will take care of the rest! The pampering starts as soon as you pull up to the five-star lodge, with everything you need just “Steps Away”. The friendly bellmen greet you at your car, taking your equipment to the ski valet and your luggage to the condo.
Each morning you’re greeted with gorgeous views of Mount Mansfield and glimpses of Smugglers Notch. After you fuel up with breakfast in our fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, head down to the ski valet where you’re just steps from the Over Easy gondola and Spruce Peak chairlifts. Don’t feel like cooking? Call up the 24-hour room service or visit one of the many on-site dining venues.
Steps Away offers plenty of room for everyone to get a good's nights sleep with three bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The first bedroom has a king bed and full bath with separate tub and shower, the second bedroom offers a king bed and full bath with shower, and the third bedroom features two queens and full bath with separate tub and shower.
If the kids (or you!) need a little break from the hustle and bustle of the base lodge, sneak back to the nearby condo for some rest time before getting back on the mountain for more skiing and snowboarding. The Stowe area also offers other snow-related activities like ice skating, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, dog sledding, and snowmobiling.
When you're not on the slopes, thaw out and have some fun in the heated outdoor pool and hot tub. Non-skiers have plenty to do too. They can take in the high-end retail stores, get pampered at the world-class spa, or visit the fitness center for a yoga class. Just down Mountain Road there are even more terrific shopping and luncheon venues.
For an additional fee, you'll have access to the Stowe Mountain Club during your stay. The membership includes entrance to the clubhouse and members-only areas around the base lodges, priority reservations at Cliff House restaurant, unlimited access to the fitness center and classes, complimentary buffet breakfast in the winter and discounted golf in the summer.
When it's time to come in for the day, snuggle up in front of the fireplace and our huge 55” television in the living room to host your own movie night. Rather go out for the night? Leave the little ones in good hands with "kids night out" where they'll have their own fun while you head out to the Pub or have a romantic dinner at Solstice.
The fun at Steps Away doesn’t stop when the snow melts. The summer months are a wonderful time to enjoy sailing on nearby Lake Champlain, or remaining on resort where you'll find golf, hiking, zip-lining, a treetop obstacle course and rock-climbing wall. There's even a farmers' market on-site!
Throughout the year, enjoy local bands and interesting musicians at the outdoor Pavilion or see popular entertainers at the Spruce Peak Arts Center. Both venues are a 4-5 minute walk from our unit. Other Stowe-area activities include terrific Mountain Road restaurants, cycling, movies, mini-golf, bowling and fly fishing.
No matter what time of the year you visit, Steps Away is sure to delight and relax you, with incredible amenities just steps from your doorstep!
Before purchasing Steps Away at Stowe Mountain Lodge, our crew was a big Sunday River family. However, once we experienced the easy drive and terrific après ski scene in Stowe we were hooked. So many wonderful activities to do when you're not on the slopes - hiking, snow shoeing, restaurants, shopping, concerts, bowling, movies, ... The Stowe area has it all!
Come summer time, we enjoy golf, ziplining, obstacle course, tennis, scenic drives and time in Burlington. Sailing on Lake Champlain is not to be missed.
Ray Haarstick purchased this condo in 2008
After renting a home off Mountain Road, we wanted to be in the center of everything at Stowe Resort. Now if anyone needs some private time, they can relax in the condo while the rest of us enjoy an activity.
The hospitality and convenience of Stowe Mountain Lodge is unrivaled when compared with other New England ski areas. Everything is well done from the moment you arrive:
- car valets to park your car
- bellmen to handle your luggage & equipment
- streamlined check-in and -out process
- concierge team for dinner reservations & activities
- ski valet to mind your skis and snowboards
- phenomenal shows at the Spruce Peak Arts Center
- terrific ski school for your kids
- outstanding on-premise dining options
- relaxing spa and fitness center
As well as being "steps away" from all Stowe Resort activities, our unit stands out for its:
- Beautiful view of Mt. Mansfield and a portion of Smugglers Notch
- Quiet location away from stairs, elevators, building equipment and pool noise
- Upgraded amenities like our 55" living room television (for movie night), chef-outfitted kitchen and full-sized washer & dryer.
Excellent 3 suites apartment being part of a 5 stars hotel.
The apartment is very well mantained; furniture and linen of a very good quality; very comfortable beds,. Top quality bathrooms on the large size; fully equipped kitchen.
Very good housekeeping service (not from the hotel) provided during our stay.
Overall a top quality property in a top five stars hotel at the wonderful Stowe ski resort.
Looking forward to return!
Three moms and four boys stayed for the Stowe Lacrosse Festival for a long weekend. We had a blast. Plenty of room for the everyone to have some privacy and quiet, but lots of living space to prepare and eat meals, while enjoying the mountain view and the company of friends. I have a very high standard of accommodations, and everything was perfect, top shelf. Upon arrival, check in was a breeze, the room was in perfect condition (very clean), everything you see in the pictures represents honestly what you are getting. We went to the bar to wait for our friends, and ordered a delicious Vermont cheese plate and tried a great local beer. The pool and hot tub were a great time for all, we spent hours there. The hotel is truly remarkable because of the service. I loved that it was quiet at night, I never heard other guests. I could go on and on, and I hope to be back next year for the same weekend. Thanks Ray, we had a great time.
We love coming to Stowe Mountain Lodge every year. This was the first time we used VRBO to find alternative access to the resort by dealing directly with the unit owner vs the Hotel. Aside from that everything is as if you are staying at the resort. Valet, Check-in is at the reception. Card Keys are issued by the reception and additional keys, charges are all handled by the resort reception. The only difference is if one desires unit cleaning and sheet change service you will have to pre-arrange with the owner's management company as oppose to the resort's maid service. This can be easily set up with them and at times that are convenient to the renter.
This property is very well maintained and dealing with the owner was a delight. The unit is nicely equipped with all amenities as described. We highly reccomend this unit and will definitely rent it again on our future trips.
The kids loved the heated pool and the game room. The hour glass bar does offer great appetizers and we loved their wings and cheese sampler plate. Sunday morning we tried the breakfast buffet at Solstice restaurant which we highly recommend too.
The title says it all. Was a great place to stay. Included very comfortable beds, a kitchen with silverware and plates, plenty of towels, right in the middle of the action. Highly recommend.
As good as it gets east of the Rockies or West of the Alps. Beautiful facility and quality staff. Solstice is a terrific on-site restaurant. Noah, Josh, Susan, Dawn, Brenda and many others contributed to many wonderful evenings of dining. Reni is an awesome ski instructor.
Everything here is EXPENSIVE, but if you can afford the experience, you will likely not be disappointed.
We have been to SML before but this was our first time staying in this unit. It was great. Ray was easy to deal with on the front end and the team from Stowe Country Homes was great after that. The unit is spacious and in terrific shape with a great view of Mt. Mansfield. The property was incredible as always - so many fun things to do in Stowe in the summer. In addition, the bell/valet team at SML is more friendly and knowledgeable than anywhere else I have stayed. Great service all around.
Steps away from the Spruce Peak lifts or take the Over Easy gondola to Mt. Mansfield. Enjoy resort living and the best Stowe Mountain has to offer. Challenging mountain golf. Experience the exceptional spa or professional fitness center. Shop the on-premises retail stores. Enjoy fine dining and nightlife. Hike Smuggler's Notch or go fly fishing. Nearby horseback riding or just relax and enjoy the majestic mountain view from your balcony.
Other Activities: Alpine slide, bungi trampoline, obstacle course
Golf: On premises.
Ski: Stowe Mountain and Spruce Peak are known by many names... Aspen of the East, Best of the East or even Squaw Valley East. Come and take advantage of the outstanding slopes and half pipes, the high speed quads, or relax in the new base lodge.
