Damage and incidentals

This was a very last minute booking for two nights. Communication from the outset was fantastic and once there, we received a very warm welcome from Richard. The house has everything you would need and spotlessly clean. We particularly liked the woods directly at the back of the property; it was perfect for our three energetic dogs. The garden was fully secure for the dogs too. Beautiful location and would highly recommend.
Great for a short break
Lovely little property in an extremely rural area of North Yorkshire. Perfect for a 'get away from it all' break. We enjoyed walking straight out of the back garden gate, cycling on the almost traffic-free local lanes, a day trip into York and also over to Whitby & Robin Hood's Bay. Local pubs serving great food and local ales were very enjoyable. The weather was lousy but we were never bored.
Thanks for the lovely review Chris. Kim and I are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and found so much to do around here, despite the foul weather. We hope to see you again when the weather will hopefully be a bit kinder for you.

Relaxing get away from it all
The cottage is lovely, with everything you could need. Setting is fabulous, really quiet and peaceful with great walks straight out of the back gate.
Richard and Kim are lovely hosts, not intrusive but there if you need them with lots of local information.
We had a great weekend - and the dog loved it!
Great place for guests who need easy access
Stayed with my disabled mother, for whom downstairs bedroom and ensuite were perfect. Very comfortable and thoughtfully equipped property in a quiet hamlet in delightful area: perfect for people who like history (Richard III's castle nearby as well as Castle Howard), gardens, good food, cosy pubs, pretty villages and walking. Excellent hosts, ready with helpful local advice but also give guests plenty of privacy. We particularly appreciated the delivery of fresh towels and a pot of home-made jam part the way through our stay.
