Our mothers Buckley family has been in the area since 1950s as Doctors- Buckley family in Whangarei and Mccaffery Divers who opened up the Poor Knights Is and Marine Reserve for diving in the late 1960s early 70s and helped bring in many conservation measures in the marine areas.Original home of the "Old Man of the Sea" Mac McCaffery and famous gathering site for divers like Wade Doak, Lew Ritchie, Kelly Tarlton, Derek Olson,...
