About this property

Kereru Cottage, tranquil and safe, close to Baddeleys Beach, Tawharanui

A wonderfully private bach retreat at Baddeleys Beach, close to Matakana village. It is a short walk to Baddeley's Beach only two minutes away (Campbell's Beach 10 min walk). Both beaches have safe playground facilities for children. The 55 minute drive from Auckland Harbour Bridge is soon to be reduced further with the completion of the Puhoi motorway section. Quiet location for Regional Park.
The cottage is very near the Tawharanui Regional Park. It is a great area for hikes and wildlife watching including the rare NZ Kiwi. The cottage was fitted with all the basic needs and was a comfortable stay. However, it is for those who can do without using their mobile phone for their stay. Try it, it is great to experience peace and nature, for a time.

Semi retired couple who enjoy travelling between stints of minding grandchildren. We both grew up in a rural town in Franklin district, south of Auckland. Still live in same area today. During working life have lived overseas in Europe and South East Asia. Keen nature lovers .

Why they chose this property

The location is close to Matakana village with great access to Tawharanui, Omaha and Point Wells. The bach is positioned along a private ROW and is surrounded by native bush and vibrant bird life. The bach offers a picture frame view through native puriri, taraire and nikau trees out into Kawau Bay. The bach and surrounds offer comfortable accommodation and amenity access. This is ideal for couples and small families to experience a slice of greater Auckland away from the bustle of the city. The bach has a good range of facilities and extensive decking around three sides of the cottage. This is a safe setting for young families.

What makes this property unique

A well appointed two bedroom bach, close to beaches, with easy access to the many attractions in the Matakana and Tawharanui areas of the Rodney District.
