Fantastic family getaway at the foot of the mountains
Great place to stay with the family if you are venturing into the mountains whether summer or winter. We went for the skiing and loved the warm house. Great insulation, wood heater and even towel warmers. Plus a couple of sun lounges behind bay windows. Comfy beds. And table tennis in the garage. Fabulous. We’d do it again.

Really great time spent here
We had a really enjoyable and comfortable stay at Jill's home. Everything was clean, beds were comfy, house was always warm and such a special little spot. The house had everything we needed and it was a great base for our trip. Jill is an excellent host. Communication was exceptional from the start, with very clear instructions for everything. We hope to be able to go back and stay there again soon.

Healing time
The Terrace is a comfortable well appointed home that provided our group with the perfect respite for a few days after a terrible family loss. Space, comfort, sun, quiet ......

About the host

Host profile image
This property is in an extended family ownership. It is currently being managed and lived in by a family member who vacates the premises for all bookings. Some personal belongings are being stored on the premises, particularly in the master room and the garage, and you are requested to respect these by not using or disturbing them.

Why they chose this property

Summer benefits: we are right beside the Selwyn River and a track beside the property leads to a safe swimming area for children, plus plenty of shady trees along the riverbed to help avoid the hot Canterbury sun. Local opportunities for hiking, biking, golf, tennis.
Winter benefits: we are within 30-60 min drive in either direction to some of Canterbury's best skiing areas, and tobogganing when the snow is low enough.

What makes this property unique

Fully equipped with everything you need in the kitchen, or for children's entertainment or for baby needs.
Small pets welcome, but please keep keep them off all furniture and clean up after them everywhere on the property. This is a rural property and because we respect our farming neighbours' concerns regarding the well-being of their stock, dogs should be kept on a leash while outside.
