Just 2 hours from Wellington, Castlepoint is a spectacular year round holiday destination; be it for a summer break at the beach or a winter getaway to enjoy the spectacular scenery.

Pets allowed with prior approval. Very well-behaved dogs are welcome but owners are requested to ensure that they clean up after them.

Beach front relaxing holiday

Perfect location looking out into the sea and right next to the lighthouse and lagoon. Very nice relaxing short holiday for our family with two kids (8 & 6). It is a traditional Bach which is thoughtfully maintained. Thank you!

Nice BUT

The Queen bed matress is rubbish. The owners need to take some of their cash and invest in a new one. The refrigerator freezes your food like a freezer even on the lowest setting. It ruined some of our food. The hot water tap in the bathroom has a foul smell which stays on your hands. The shower tap leaks. The hot water bottle leaked and needs replacing and the oil heater was missing it's plug. Otherwise the view was beautiful and it was neat and tidy on arrival.

Arrived with my husband and border collie The bach is a wonderful suprise Bright and homely In the waterfront looking at thesuperb headlands and coast scape and lighthouse The sky is full of seabirds Interesting sandy area and fishing biats Superb coastal walks I could not improve on it

Amazing view

Lovely stay. Very much a bach so no thrills. Didn’t realise on booking req our own linen / towels which was challenging as we were flying from the South Island. View and location is great. Ants a problem, hard for owners as I’m sure it’s location based but be aware!

Castlepoint is a similar latitude as Golden Bay with a special microclimate and offers access to a wide variety of outdoor leisure activities. The cove's uniquely protected swimming is fantastic for small children in water that is generally several degrees warmer than the ocean.

Traditional kiwi bach with plenty to do regardless of the weather. It's location gives access to the beach and the water. Whether you are outdoors enjoying it all or watching when the Easterly blows.
