TROPICAL PARADISE!

Our best vacation ever. We arrived at the

airport and found our taxi waiting for us. As we drove up the East Coast of St Lucia, the scenery is ever-changing and often stunning. The owners (David & Wanda were there to greet us on arrival. That evening David took us down to a wonderful restaurant on

Marigot Bay for some island cuisine.

The next morning we had our first tropical

breakfast with the other guests. Lots of fruit, some that I had not seen before, French bread & good coffee. Meeting with the other guests was very helpful. We rented a jeep and were on our way to explore the island.

I had read some reviews but Nature’s Paradise

was beyond what I expected. A great pool with stunning views and Wanda’s garden is a gem.  The cottage had a full kitchen to make lunches and dinners. We did not use it too much due to the restaurants in Marigot Bay. David's tour of Soufriere is a must, and

his advice was invaluable. This was my first time in St Lucia and we also felt safe and the people were very friendly. It was the best vacation we ever had. Will we return? You bet.

Avocado Cottage is a pure Caribbean gem located in an absolutely stunning tropical setting. From the moment my wife and I arrived we were immersed in a paradise of lush gardens, spectacular views, calming trade winds, and a truly relaxing environment for our long-awaited (and much needed) vacation. What’s not to love in this idyllic locale? You can sip your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine on your own private deck, watch the waves crash into the cove below, or enjoy the sunset as it fades into the horizon to the west. Swim in a beautiful hilltop pool with 180-degree panoramic vistas. Drive (or hike) into Marigot Bay—one of the most beautiful harbors in the Caribbean—for a delicious meal at any number of world class restaurants. Or venture out across the island for phenomenal snorkeling, hiking, zip-lining, sailing, or soaking in the rain forest in naturally heated mineral baths.

Best of all you have David and Wanda as your hosts. Eager to provide as much or as little assistance as you want, their hospitality itself is a treasure. From delicious breakfasts on their ocean-view patio to exclusive off-the-beaten-path private excursions, they know how to take care of their guests. They encouraged us to venture out on our own and helped us find some real pearls we wouldn’t have discovered otherwise.

My wife and I lived in the Caribbean for several years and nowhere have we felt more at home than in Avocado Cottage. Go now!

Nature' s Paradise is aptly named, as the house, its swimming pool and its cottages are set in lush, beautifully planted grounds high above Marigot Bay with views of the bay and beyond. Our welcome from hosts David and Wanda was warm and eager to please. Our cottage accommodation was comfortable, but not luxurious, and our cottage would have benefitted from some freshening up (linens etc). This was a true B &B experience, with a light breakfast served with other guests at 8 am sharp which included fresh fruit, juice, bread, cheese and coffee every day. It is important to know that given the position of the house, high above the bay, the access road is steep and only partially paved, so unless you are prepared for a steep walk to and from the bay, you will want to hire a vehicle which is also necessary to explore the area.

I had no idea what to expect when I booked my stay at Nature's Paradise.

I had the vacation of a lifetime.

Single traveler, female, late 20s. St Lucia had everything I was looking for and Nature's Paradise was the perfect home base in which to relax after enjoying it. The grounds are stunning- the gardens make you feel as if you're in some far away rainforest (which is basically the case lol). Despite there being multiple guests on site, as well as the owners, there is never a lack of privacy. The pool is gorgeous and the view of the sunset even more so. The house and surrounding cottages are perched above Marigot Bay on a high cliff- and the location couldn't have been better. The view from my cottage balcony was second to none- and the house always stayed cool. Breakfasts were always fun, getting to know your fellow guests and listening to David and Wanda's wonderful stories and picking their brains about this lovely island they call home.

I stayed in the avocado cottage, and it was perfect. Full bath (beautiful tile), large bed with mosquito netting, full kitchen- everything I needed. Everything was clean and in good working order.

It's a very short walk or drive down to the bay directly below Nature's paradise- and the snorkeling is superb. The beach is small and private- you'll almost always have it to yourself. Marigot Bay itself is also a short drive (a bit more of a walk, but it's St. Lucia- so get out and enjoy it). The restaurants (Chateau Mygo in particular) are fantastic.

Despite how lovely the house and grounds are, the most wonderful part of Nature's Paradise was Dave and Wanda. I would be hard pressed to find a more interesting and enjoyable couple. Between the two of them, their knowledge of the island is second to none. I spent a great deal of time with Dave seeing the island, and enjoyed every minute of it. I genuinely consider them friends and hope to come back to their home one day.

To my other fellow single traveler- thank you for providing me with wonderful company. I sincerely enjoyed it. And to Graham and Vicki- I had a blast with you two, the Canadian soulmates I never knew I was missing.
