About this property

The Black Sheep Farm B&B is midway between Auckland and the Bay of Islands on the East Coast on the scenic Cove Rd and perfectly situated between the stunning beaches of Waipu Cove and Langs Beach

There are 3 first floor Suites available for guests, each with ensuite and balcony. 2 suites have a lounge area and enjoy sea and coastal views of Bream Bay and 1 suite is smaller and enjoys bush views. There are no kitchen facilities available but homemade continental breakfast is included in the rates. Tea and coffee facilities are in the Tui and Kingfisher Suites and available in the Conservatory.

Suite Rates in NZ$ for 2 people per night are:

Additional charge for children $25 per night. (maximum 2 in the Tui Suite or maximum 1 in the Kingfisher Suite)

A formal lounge and conservatory is available for relaxing as well as a choice of outdoor decks in the bush for that perfect cup of tea, or evening glass of wine.

The property is run using organic and sustainable principles with permaculture vege gardens and paddocks for a rare breed of Arapawa black sheep. Spacious guest suites, tranquility and lovely views, make this a comfortable and restful place for guests to stay combining coastal paradise with a small farm.

The historic Scottish town of Waipu is a 10 minute drive. Nearby there are beautiful beaches for swimming and surfing. 2 golf courses, Waipu underground caves, and wonderful coastal walks are all close. The stunning Cove coastal walk is within minutes of the Homestead. And the famous Waipu Pizza Barn is a must for dinner.

Great escape!

The perfect weekend escape. Peace and quiet, in a tranquil sea-view setting. The hosts are amazing, providing everything you need, local advice, and great breakfasts. Would happily stay here again.

Peace and tranquility in a beautiful setting.

Very welcoming and hospitable hosts, we were made to feel at home straight away. The room was spacious and comfortable with its own balcony overlooking the sheep grazing in the pasture. Don't miss the opportunity to relax on the deck with its spectacular views.

Perfect getaway

We only spent one night at the beautiful Country Homestead but we loved every minute of it. Lisa and Anthony were welcoming hosts and made our stay very comfortable. The views were lovely and tranquil - especially the deck overlooking the bush. Our view from our balcony was stunning and included both the namesake black sheep and glimpses of the ocean. Would love to return!
