Located a 15 minute drive from Taupo town, make your way through the gates of The Kinloch Club and up to Dunalistair House where you'll discover this stunning architectural award winning holiday home.

With ample space (300sqm/3000sqf) to house a large or mix of families, Dunalistair House sits proudly overlooking the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course at The Kinloch Club. Four super-king ensuite bedrooms split into two wings of the house which flank a vast open plan kitchen / dining and living area - open the huge stacking doors to allow some of the planets cleanest air ventilate the home. Star gazing at night here will blow you away !

Architectural magnificence won the architect, Brendon Gordon, national awards for this home - the use of cedar and stone features exemplify the integrity and thought that has gone into ensuring this home is a design of timeless significance. Views include a lake with an abundance of bird life with the golf course in the back ground. You will immediately recognise that you have found one of New Zealand's most incredible locations for a friends or family holiday.

All modern conveniences are to be expected, along with complimentary Starlink Wifi during your stay, along with SONOS media system.

The kitchen offers all utilities and condiments required including a microwave, double fridge / freezer, wine cooler, coffee machine and also BBQ grill. A solid wood dining-table and feature fire-place surrounded by natural stone, create a unique ambiance that will relax even the most active of families!

There are also plenty of games for the kids if need be and a media room with TV / Cable / Netflix if required.

Taupo is a hot-spot activity destination, being known for its outdoor lifestyle and "energy". With the town of Taupo only a 15 minute drive away, ample shops / cafes and restaurants are an easy visit. The village of Kinloch itself is delightful and offers fantastic walking tracks, mountain biking tracks, a fantastic marina, along with three restaurants and general supplies.

The owners (Alistair and Kirsty) are happy to offer their local advice as they have worked in the tourism industry in the region for over 20 years.

Kirsty & Alistair - we love to travel and are a Kiwi / Scottish combo who have traveled the world extensively. We know what a good experience requires as far as accommodation comfort and local amenities are concerned. Both love the outdoors - walking, biking, swimming, golf.

We live within a few miles of Dunalistair House so one of us will meet you on check in to show you around the home.

Why they chose this property

We built Dunalistair House as an ambitious project at a time when the world was facing a global financial crisis !! We weathered that storm and have never looked back since. We love to utilise the home when we can for our family - but love to share it to worldly travellers who are looking for somewhere a little unique and off the beaten track. And if you are a golfer, we argue that there is no home like this one located on a golf course anywhere in New Zealand - the colour contrasts of evening light across the golf course are simply incredible.

Kinloch has a magic about it - great lake, beach, shoreline native forest, walking trails, biking trails etc - it is a lovely place to retreat for a few days re-charge. Great to have all the activities of Taupo and Rotorua nearby as well.

We do recommend a car, but if you need a driver or guide, Alistair is also a professional tour guide with his own touring company based in the region.
