If you're looking for a peaceful spot with beautiful views of the mountains this is the place to be. Unwind in a private guest house located on ten acres with beautiful views of the La Plata Mountains, trees and wildlife. TV, WiFi, movies, books and games are also available. The bedroom has a queen size bed and private bathroom. Please note: The outside door pictured to the left of the main door of the guest house is a private door to a garage, it is not a second guest house and not accessible to guests. So close to Mesa Verde
We LOVED staying here in this clean, well stocked rental! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals in, and we loved the proximity to Mesa Verde! Comfortable bed, warm flannel sheets for winter weather, and fun watching wildlife out the windows! I do recommend bringing your slippers! The tile floor was cold! ☺️ Thank you to our hosts for a truly restful weekend rental!

Perfect Place!
This views from this property were amazing! The property felt like an actual guest house, some just do not. The place was well done, very clean and had everything we needed. The homemade bread was a lovely touch and it was amazing! The owners were wonderful. Would definitely stay again and recommend!

Cozy, clean and comfy
Twisted Cedars was perfect for my wife and I for our visit to Mesa Verde National Park. Located just 3 miles from the park entrance it couldn't be more convenient. Heather greeted us upon our arrival even though it was late and rainy. The property was clean as a whistle and had everything we needed for our 2 day stay. No detail was overlooked. Kitchen is compact but had everything we needed to prepare breakfast and lunches for the park we even cooked in one night. The bed is super comfy. If you are looking for a place to stay while visiting Mesa Verde this is it.

About the host

Hosted by Heather and Chad Johnston

Host profile image
Chad worked for over 25 years in the dental field and currently enjoys working for the Colorado Department of Wildlife. Heather is a teacher for the deaf, a counselor and an essential oils educator. We both love spending time outdoors. Chad is an avid outdoors-man and Heather enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and trail running.

Why they chose this property

City life just didn't suit us anymore. We were looking for something quiet, peaceful and on lots of private land. We love the peace and quiet this property lends. We have access to a huge outdoor playground which is wonderful.

What makes this property unique

This location is close to three cities which offer a variety of events and services. In the summer there are Farmer's Markets and Donkey Parades in Mancos, Durango has the Silverton Train, rafting on the Animas River and Cortez has mountain biking and the Mesa Verde National Park. In the wintertime Purgatory Ski Resort is in Durango.
