The kitchen comes totally equipped with everything imaginable including an XL airfryer, dishwasher, nespresso machine (BYO pods), kitchenaid stand mixer, blender, toastie and smoothie maker. An 8-seater dining table facilitates communal feasting and competitive board-gaming, and the expansive lounge has a 75" smart tv and Bluetooth speakers. Upstairs is a huge Master bedroom featuring a Californian King bed, office desk and sitting area overlooking the water, a flat screen TV with DVD player and chrome cast and an ensuite. Between the ensuite and the Master room is a smaller bedroom with single bed trundler and additional room for a portacot if needed. The deck has fantastic views right down to the harbour and is the place to be for tea, coffee and books during the day or sundowners into the evening.

This property comes beautifully equipped for young families with 2 portacots, a highchair for babies, a wooden highchair for toddlers, an umbrella stroller, body board, books and toys provided. For the adults there is a games room in the garage which includes a 7ft pool table and dart board. There is also plenty of gym equipment for those who like to earn their down time.

In the cooler months heat-pumps in the lounge and Master bedrooms, individual heaters in other bedrooms, electric blankets for the Queen beds and extra blankets are available to keep you toasty warm.

There is plenty of parking both on-site (including one space under a carport) and off for a boat and cars.

This home is maintained to an excellent standard by a fabulous local cleaner, and linen and towels are included in the cost so you can pack light! Please note that bed making and bbq/games room cleaning is not included in order to keep costs to a minimum.

Located down a private drive and surrounded by native birds you will find this home to be incredibly peaceful while being only a 10-minute walk down the hill into town, making it a great base from which to explore and enjoy beautiful Akaroa.

Perfect for family!
This was perfect for our family stay of 6 adults, 1 x 7 year old and a 7 month old baby. Well equipped and with plenty to keep the 7 year old amused especially as the weather was very wet! We will return sometime!

Gorgeous family stay
Excellent location and well set up property for a family with small kids - especially one travelling light (ie from rural Australia for us). Plenty to keep the kids occupied when the weather wasn’t on our side and lots to explore nearby when it was. Would also be great for multiple families/larger groups - would recommended fighting for the main bedroom upstairs! Great view and super comfy super huge bed

A great place for your family to stay
The house was perfect for my family with plenty of space for us all to share meals together and play games. We all loved the pool table and it would have been nice to have the fire going.

I'm an Aussie who met a Kiwi in Tokyo, lived in Ireland, got engaged in South Africa then married in beautiful Akaroa many moons later! Despite the prior great travel experiences I have loved putting down roots in Christchurch where we have been now for 10 years.
We have a 10 year old girl and 8 year old boy who keep us very busy! When our place isn't booked in Akaroa we love getting over there as it is my happy place to escape - I love the native birds in particular, watching the Keruru (native wood pigeon who look like cute flying footballs!) and the fantails which love the trees around our place there.
Before getting our own place in Akaroa we stayed in lots of holiday rentals and wished that they had had more things for littlies to do - so you'll notice there are heaps of books, games and toys at Seaclusion :)
We hope you love it as much as we do. Enjoy your stay!!

Why they chose this property

As soon as we looked through this property we knew it was the right one for us - we had been looking for a while as my Husband grew up in Akaroa and we wanted to offer our kids the same unplugged experiences as he was fortunate to have.
It may sound corny to say, but the house was immediately so welcoming - the previous owners had built it as a holiday home so it had already had many happy family memories created there, then they had actually retired there at the end so they were very happy to know that it was being passed onto another family who would cherish it as they had.

What makes this property unique

Ideal for 2 families sharing or large groups
