Weekend in Harper's Ferry
Enjoyed our stay. Clean property with just a short walk to downtown. Would stay here again.
Thank you Patricia for sharing your wonderful cottage. We had a very relaxing weekend. Enjoyed our walks around town and also took a side trip to Shenendoah University. Cottage was extremely clean and well -equipped.
Human and Pup approved
We escaped DC for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary and the Cottage was a perfect place for us to make dinners, get a great night of rest, and easily get to several trails for some great hiking. Our basset mix loved the house as well and found the huge picture window especially entertaining. Plenty of room to set up your crate if you leave the pup at any point. Very dog friendly Cottage, town and trails. Great brisk walk to main drag of Harper's Ferry. Everything is on a hill there, but the uphill walk back "home" after a great meal at Hamilton's Tavern 1840 was just perfect.
Cozy, comfortable, convenient, charming
Wonderful cottage convenient to the Lower Town, the mountains, and the canal path. Beautifully maintained with modern amenities, yet charming historical cottage - it takes you to the Civil War era before you even step out the door!
History and Hiking
This very lovely and cozy cottage is in a perfect location for experiencing Harper’s Ferry history and hiking beautiful trails including the Appalachian Trail which is only steps away. The cottage is beautifully maintained and well stocked with all the supplies you need. We loved our stay here and will definitely return.
Peggy Dye House
The inside of the cottage was so charming and very well maintained and clean and they provided everything you need for your stay. Lots of outdoor seating areas (side patio, front porch, and back balcony). The only draw back for me was the exterior of the house and surrounding gardens need some TLC but it didn't keep us from enjoying the charming cottage.
sorry about that, landscaper was on vacation!
Pre-Civil War cottage is perched just above the historic 'lower town' of Harpers Ferry. Five-minute walk (downhill) to historic attractions, shops, restaurants, river sports, C&O towpath, hiking and biking trails, etc. Near historic Storer College buildings which served as generals' headquarters during Civil War. Bolivar Heights Battlefield less than two miles away, and renowned Maryland Heights hike starts just across the Potomac River footbridge.
